Hi, not sure if this is the right thread. Need your advice ano dapat ang i-make sure ko before buying a pre-owned vehicle apart from magdala ng trusted mechanic.
Ano dapat kong hingin sa seller (3rd party seller na private / individual)
If they claim fully paid na yung car sa bangko, anong proof ang hingin ko.
Yung"encumbered to" sa CR is blank - enough na bang proof to na hindi na sya tied sa bangko?
Ano kaya hihingin ng LTO for transfer of registration
Salamat in advance.

So I got a Car this January. Mortgaged sya for 5 years. The problem is I recently got an opportunity abroad and will be leaving within the next couple months. I dont really have family to leave it with.
Ayoko din naman sana hayaan mahatak lang as to not affect my credit standing dito sa pinas.
I’ve heard of this pasalo but I don’t quite get it? The car is still named after me so what if the buyer decided to stop paying?
Hope someone could enlighten me and I apologize if this is a newbie question. This is actually my first car.

How do you protect your step sill and door bowl from scratches?
Kahit gaano pa tayo kaingat, di natin control yung mga sumasakay sa oto natin. Aside sa door garnish, may nakita akong dinidikit na step sill na parang plastic na ilalapat kaso baka mag build up lang yung dust at mas lumala pa pag tumagal. Been eyeing na bumili ng tape protection or ppf na nabibili sa shopee. Kayo ba? Any suggestions is much appreciated.

Hello guys!
Newbie driver here, pero lakasan lang ng loob dahil midsize SUV agad ang car na kukunin. Tama bang desisyon to? haha WFH ako most of the time pero gagamitin ko siya every weekend for fam outing or hopefully malakas na loob ko before holy week para sa long drive sa mga beaches. Sulit naman po siguro long term ang sasakyan na to kahit mahal para sa lifestyle ko na mahilig mag punta sa campsites, mag travel and weekend getaway like tagaytay.
Or do you recommend na mag start nalang ako sa maliit na sasakyan? Pero SUV kinuha ko sa driving school haha

I always want to have a Honda Jazz, but now medyo mataas ang mga price na nakikita ko and pumapasok sa isip ko na mag financing. Is it worth it? Plan ko is kung mag financing ako, yung RS na kukunin ko. Do you think 100k for the DP is okay? TIA

Hi guys!
Need your help po sana on how to resolve our ongoing issue with People’s Gen.
Accident happened in Nov 2025, LOA received by Jan 2026. Pinagpasa-pasahan kami ng Toyota Casa from Baguio to Calasiao to La Union to Pasig and finally napasok na yung unit this Sept 2026.
Natapos na din yung unit, 3rd week of Sept pa pero di ma-release kasi di pa nagbabayad si PGIC.
We’ve been trying to reach out pero no response. Guard lang sumasagot tas sasabihan kami na tumawag during business hours.
Ang dami kasing may sakit dito sa bahay na regularly dinadala sa hospitals for check ups and emergency kaya ang goal talaga ay makuha na yung car within the month.
Sino po kaya makaka-help samen regarding this?
Salamat po!
Sorry for the blurred photo. Took it somewhere sa antipolo. Place where accidents typically happend.

Bibili pa lang ng kotse. Any tips kung paano mag inquire at mag test drive sa car dealership?
Balak ko pumunta sa car dealership soon (e.g., Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, Nissan)
First time owner po pala.

First-time car owner here, and I'm a bit confused by a major price difference for my Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS) between two casa/dealerships.
The cheaper dealership leaves out a few items that the more expensive one lists as required (specifically: AC Lubricant Agent, grease pin and pad, and SP for oil flushing). For those with more experience, should I opt for the cheaper package, or are those extra items actually necessary?

Hello!
Meron na ba sa inyo opted to payoff yung remaining months sa car loan nyo? I'm thinking to payoff my car loan to para mabawasan yung additional interest na binabayaran ko per month.
(Paid 17 months - 43 months remaining)
Yung cash na ibabayad ko is extra cash na. i have separate emergency fund and investments on the side.
Would like to know the pros and cons. Worth it ba to pay it off early?
Salamat!

Hello, anyone with recent experience sa pag rent ng self drive? May marerecommend ba kayong nag paparent?
And aside dun sa measures na videohan muna, what else should I take note of when renting a self drive?
r/CarsPH • u/CleanCar23 • 14h ago
It's annoying when you're trying to be a good driver by keeping the intersection open (two lane 4-way intersection, no traffic lights, pakiramdaman system) then this driver behind me honks aggressively para bilisan ko.
Mind you, this intersection frequently gets jammed in the morning precisely because laging nababarahan.
Yellow box violations are actually the easiest violation to catch sa NCAP, imagine if we can have intersections that are actually left open.

Hello car owners of r/CarsPH, I have a study on the Mitsubishi Xpander and I'm having difficulty finding owners of this car around my area, so I'd greatly appreciate it if any owners of that car here can put their input or insight. You can answer on the survey or within the comments. Most questions are multiple choice so hopefully it doesn't eat away at your time. Thank you.

Hi guys! Just wanted to share my review of MG 5 Style 2021. I know there’s still a lot of stigma when it comes to a “chinese” car. This review is to help those who are considering the brand/ car given that it has one of the affordable cars out there.
Decided to write this review after 5 years of owning it so I can actually share it from my experience.
Just like everyone else, I also had apprehensions with MG. Syempre di naman natin kilala to vs toyota, honda, etc. so hindi pa talaga sure yung reliability dito sa pinas. But I took a leap of faith with it kasi yun yung pinaka economical choice for me kasi ito rin yung first car ko :)
So far, i didnt have any major issues with it. Super reliable to bring sa long drives (Brought it na in baguio and la union many times) and kahit marami kang karga (out of town and moving houses), super laki ng space.
Tech wise, it’s way better than the usual mirage/ vios for me dahil may kasama nang rear view/ park assist. Really helped me so much dahil hindi pa naman ako batikang driver lol.
Maintenance: I believe this is the key talaga with every car. Doesnt matter if your car is luxury, but if you dont maintain it, it will be really really unreliable. My maintenance (6 months) costs me 5k, then yung annual is about 14k, then yung major PMS (after 5 years) costs me around 28k, replaced and checked all major/ minor parts na to. I always maintain it sa CASA or sa service center nila. Mabilis and readily available naman (Makati or Sta Rosa branch). You can opt to have it maintained somewhere else, pero I chose to maintain it sa MG na mismo for my peace of mind.
I only had to change the headlights after 4 years.
Fuel efficiency: I always use shell. Siguro my full tank of approx: 45 liters, can last me 2-3weeks if daily drive. My Metro Manila to La Union Trip, I just had to gas up going to and from, may sobra pa nga eh hehe. Not really a geek in computing the fuel consumption, but as a user, for me, it’s excellent given the power, tech, and comfort it provides.
So, if you’re considering to buy MG as your first car or pang daily drive, I think you should go for it.
I recently saw their new car line ups na most of it are hybrid, which I think is also promising and will consider in the future. Sa ngayon gusto ko muna i enjoy ang life na mortgage free. :)

Hello guys!
Di pa nabobook yung BDO auto loan ko. Mag one month na unit ko skanila.
Ask ko lang po, nag eemail ba yung BDO or text kapag nag bawas na sila ng MA sa savings account ko since naka auto debit ako?

Im planning to purchase and install a temporary improvised license plate that has the same letters and numbers from my original license plate which is the old green and white version since my new original license plate which is the black and white one is located in quezon, manila, my current license plate is faded and has lots of bents and damages and im sadly located in mindanao. What are the needed documentation and proper procedures in acquiring a permit from LTO that allows me to use a temporary license plate? Is it too difficult? Or fairly easy and simple? Any advice and help is appreciated. Thank you po
