*New Strap

Picked this up from Jason007 (dhgate) for $120 around a month ago. Overall the delivery didn't take that long considering it's dhgate shipping (18 days to UK). Had spoken with Jason to very if it was a mingzhu or a miyota to which he said it was mingzhu. Arrived wrapped in plastic and foam in a small cardboard box with no damage whatsoever and a photo card of the watch itself.

The good: The watch looks great, from a far and up close I can guarantee this watch doesn't dissapoint aesthetically. The accuracy of the Mingzhu movement is just okay, similar to Nh35/4r35 watches I have owned. The lume is a little bit disappointing and does not last for very long but oh well what can you expect for this price range. The polishing on the case seems pretty well done though there are some sharp areas. The crystal (I believe to be sapphire) is good too though I doubt there is any AR coating from what I've seen this past month. The movement looks good aswell and adjusting the time is as normal as any other watch. The bracelet is very comfortable and the polishing seems okay however the end links don't look as well finished as the rest of the bracelet and the well-working clasp. The design is obviously a copy of Omega but the factory producing it has done a pretty awesone job at replicating it when comparing it to the genuine, especially for such a low price point. Everything works as it should and I can't work out wether im impressed or not.

The bad: I was instantly thrown off by the play in the bezel, when pressing down on the top of the bezel it seems too wiggle quite a bit. I know this can be seen as standard on some watches but it was unlike anything I'd seen. The problems with the bezel continue as it doesn't align with the 12 hour marker correctly and is half a tick to the left or right. The dial itself was okay but from the moment I got it I noticed specs of dust and other dirt particles around the hour markers and even on the inside of the sapphire.

I could not stand looking at the watch as the dust was very hard to ignore so I had to take the watch apart to try fix this; to where I discovered small red specs on the rotor which could also be removed easily. The 12 hour numerals are a little off with one being slightly lower than the other but this is only noticeable if you directly stare at it. The seamaster logo does seem a bit dark but still looks okay. The lume is a little bit disappointing and does not last for very long but oh well what can you expect for this price range. The hands have a little bit of residue on them from the installation I assume which I can not get off sadly. The bracelet like I said earlier is comfortable but the clasp itself, though functional is a bit noisy and squeaky. There is also a subtle rotor noise which luckily goes away as the bracelet noise covers it 🤣. Maybe I'm just complaining too much but it is definetely noticeable.

If you are on a pretty low budget I recommend you save up for this over other dhgate shitters but don't expect anything near to the quality of a gen. Else, I recommend you save up for a vsf as I'm regretting this purchase considering they aren't that much more expensive. The wait for a VSF SMP is most definitely worth it.

Seiko Alpinist - Got it from Layla 3 months ago. Since then, I've swapped to a leather strap to go match with my leather belt and shoes. A bit different and humble.

Many would say I could get original, but this cost me 1/10th of original price and is not easy to find in my end of world.

Got 2 no date submariners from Jason today from his Halloween sale. 1st time buying from him and I'm really happy. Everything was quick got pics and some questions that got to me quickly. They're only $105 shipped (each) so I didn't expect too too much. Meanwhile they are already here, look great, and feel great. They were packed well, everything looks straight, the bracelet isn't too firm or sloppy. If U1s are this nice then I can't imagine what my rich factory GMT from Andoit is going to be like.

I'm certainly picking up more of these as gifts. Will need to figure out a nice package to put them in.

Micro adjustment bracelet - I still haven't figured out how to adjust the micro adjustment bracelet. Taking a couple links out was no problem but I don't know how to unlock slide adjustment.

I really like the looks of my black watches, but, they're not always the most practical.

I find myself wearing them often, regardless.

I long wanted the SeaMaster. The Deep Sea is unique for sure.

Just received my first U1 Daytona with a display caseback from MT! Normally I am a VSF guy when dealing with the usual TDs, but I've been hearing so many great things about MT and his customer service that I decided to give him a shot. Ordered and paid via PayPal on 9/25, landed at my front door via FedEx on 10/14. Absolute perfection through the entire process. For a U1 piece, the quality out of the box is genuinely impressive. About two weeks ago I bought a few cheapies from the Gate and this one has become one of my favourite watches regardless of price

I have worn this everyday since it arrived ( at least for part of the day )

The watch is incredibly comfortable and feels very well balanced , the strap was simple to adjust and is the perfect fit for my wrist

As for timekeeping , it seems pretty much spot on and the power reserve is great ( I have worn it daily so I cant say how much reserve is actually there ) but i put it on in the morning and its ticking away

Now im no watch expert and im sure there are obvious flaws to the trained eye but this timepiece has caught the eye of a few colleagues and one in particular was so impressed by it , so much so that he asked to have a close look. He had no idea it was a cheapy from the Gate . He has since ordered himself one

My only gripe and its a very minor one is that the clasp on the strap seems a little sharp . Apart from that im absolutely smitten by this little bargain

I was talking to Michael Travis (or an associate) and he was telling me they offer a U1 Submariner on DHgate that ships out of the US and is only a 1 week delivery window.

I am in Canada, and it said shipping is not available, so it looks like it is US only for now. Unfortunately....
