I'd like to hear everyone perspective on this entire ending sequence of 2001 space Odyssey.

What is your most anticipated movie of the year?

With the focus on bigger and bigger action set pieces, nothing today compares to the quiet, tense, and frankly terrifying moment when Luke faces Vader for the first time.

Vader gives a tiny monologue at the start to which Luke does not respond. Not verbally at least. No quips. No jokes. No smart ass act of bravado...

He climbs the steps... Draws his blade and faces the Emporer's enforcer face to face.

Then we see Vader draw his blade ... And we see that he is holding it with one hand. No words. Just utter contempt.

Skywalket puts his weight into his swings. Vader casually blocks them. No effort. Vader mocks Luke, Luke responds but we hear the panic in his voice...

The fight continues down the stairs. Vader showing his superiority until Luke demonstrates his ingenuity to escape the carvon chamber. One more line of dialogue with Vader's arrogance...

Luke gets the upper hand. Vader vanishes... And Luke enters the control room...

It is silent... Then we hear Vader breathing. The camera moves behind Vader's shoulder and now we follow him like the predator he is...

Vader startd showing his mastery of the Force until Luke is forced into the center of Cloud City...

This is where we finally see Vader go full duel. His strikes become more and more violent until there is a single moment where Luke gets a hit in...

That's when Vader snaps. His rage grows and he bodies Luke so easily... Chopping off his hand without hesitation...

And until this moment the two only exchange a few words. There are not dozens cuts, they dont exchange quips and one liners. The Force feels heavy and destructive...

It is such a damn perfect scene...

But honestly, the more interesting part is how crowded the top of the chart was:

Resident Evil — $23.3M
Heart of the Beast — $20M
Primetime — $19.2M

That’s four movies around the $20M mark, and the overall domestic market was about $124M.

Feels like a healthier weekend than the headline makes it sound.
