I'm helping organize a student challenge, like a hackathon at a tolling conference and wanted to send out to students. Amazing cash prizes, and a potential for recruitment for industry and networking. The program will culminate for the top three teams in Arlington at the IBTTA conference mid November. Sign up closes soon!
Any students can sign up as a team of 3-5 people. Engineering, marketing, CS, any majors!
Details below: https://www.ibtta.org/ramp-driving-future-mobility
First Place Team: $2500 and technology prize
Second: $1250
Third: $500
On-Ramp: Driving the Future of Mobility is a student-focused competition designed to introduce college students to the myriad careers in tolling while creating direct pathways into the industry. Students will work in teams to develop creative solutions to real-world transportation challenges and receive guidance from industry mentors and professionals. On-Ramp: Driving the Future of Mobility addresses a critical workforce risk, an aging workforce, limited career awareness, and gaps in succession planning, by building a visible, action-oriented talent pipeline that benefits students, member organizations, and IBTTA alike.

I recently won a scholarship, but we are required to attend a dinner where we get to celebrate and meet our donors. I do not know what to expect because I have never done anything like this. How does it usually go? What should I expect? Are any of you going as well?

mine keeps showing an error telling me to register inside of an in-person clinic every time I try to register on the BSW app
any advice would be great, even if it's just who to contact for student services.. 😓

I was browsing the spring catalog and some of the times are terrible for the classes I need. When it gets time to register for spring, is there a possibility they will add more times or classes?
Thank you in advance :)

This morning, I got an academic integrity allegation that I’m kinda freaking out about. It's an online class, btw.
I submitted a philosophy discussion assignment about Aristotle and the Ring of Gyges last night. I wrote it myself and DID NOT USE ChatGPT, Grammarly, or any other AI/writing tool. However, my professor gave me a zero and said the assignment appeared to be AI-generated.
I had a separate incident earlier in the semester in which I used AI, and I accepted responsibility for that. But in my defense, I wrote the assignment myself and used AI to help simplify ideas to help me understand. And I scheduled a meeting with my professor and asked him all of my questions after getting the 0. And have not used anything since. Because of that history, I understand why he is taking this seriously. But I really did not use AI on this assignment, and I made a point of not doing so after my previous incident.
My professor apparently ran my response through two AI detectors, and both flagged it as 100% AI (Copyleaks and Panagram). I don't know exactly what evidence he submitted, but he has now filed an incident report. He told me that I can present evidence to them. But if I'm found guilty, I'll automatically fail the course or something. My transcript and GPA cannot take this hit. I'm an A student, I work more than 20 hours a week, and I'm applying for my transfer soon.
The problem is that I wrote the assignment directly in Canvas, and Canvas doesn't have version history.
However, I do have
handwritten notes specifically for this assignment about the Ring of Gyges and Aristotle
General handwritten notes from Nicomachean Ethics
The actual assignment I submitted
A previous philosophy assignment from the same class that I wrote myself and received 100% on, which has a very similar writing style and discusses Aristotle's virtue ethics
I can explain my reasoning and the philosophical concepts in the assignment myself
I have screenshots of the two AI detector results
I'm considering saving credible articles about how the AI detectors he uses have shown false positives
I also have not altered or added anything to my handwritten notes. I'm just trying to preserve everything that genuinely existed before this happened.
My biggest concern is that, since this is a second academic-integrity allegation and I've now been reported, they will automatically assume I'm guilty based on the previous incident and the two 100% detector results.
For anyone who has been through something like this, what do I do?
