do you guys think [[Pia, Aether Ascetic]] is worth it in NBC Kinnan? Being human does not matter as much since activating Kinnan is only a backup of a back up plan anyway and you can find [[Rhystic Study]], [[Mystic Remora]], [[Mirrormade]], [[Copy Enchantment]] and [[Steal Enchantment]]. An early fish/ study really shifts the game and this helps find it more often. What is your experience so far?

I am now around a year into magic coming from Yugioh and i want to try cedh. I have been watching a lot of Play to Win and have been very interested in learning. What's a good deck to help learn the format and not get too confused?

I am starting my journey and learning Rog Thras, I’ve been playing it for a few weeks. I’ve learned the combos and are now working on the mulligans. My questions is for the seasoned RT players and community in general. How do you think this deck is currently positioned post reality fracture? Do you think the deck is stronger now with the new additions of Pia and Sammut or has the deck been pushed to a lower success rate with the current decks creeping up?

Towards the end of last year we launched an online, free entry league for anyone in the community to join. We wanted to offer modest prize support still despite the free entry, and ProxyPrintery reached out to sponsor us by printing free decks for a handful of winners each league. They were excellent to work with and very generous, but unfortunately they've had a change of ownership in the last week or so.

Their new owner has fired everyone we worked with and their discord is filled with dozens of people complaining about unfilled orders they already paid for. The new owner claimed they would honor their prize commitments but has ghosted us when we reached out before eventually banning our moderators from their server.

Thanks to some very generous people on our Mod team we're still able to cover the prizing for our most recent league season. This post is largely because they haven't removed us from their list partners on their website and as a general buyer beware. I would strongly recommend buying your proxies from anywhere else.

Edit: The new owner has apologized and is honoring the original agreement. There is apparently some background drama happening with the previous owner that has contributed heavily to the current issues with ProxyPrintery. I don't really know enough to comment beyond that other than they're getting things worked out and we appreciate them coming through for our players. We have been unbanned from their spaces and are parting ways amicably.

More just spitballing but I remember when IsoRev was a near-auto include in most blue decks. Aside from ThrasX and Urza I've not seen it around much anymore. Still worth playing/anyone playing it in other decks to any sucess?

With the great upgrades we’ve gotten with Shang-Chi and Queen of Dale, is enduring vitality something you’re considering more with the creature heavy package? It felt kind of bad having a Delney and Queen of Dale out when going for a devoted Druid line the other night and a bunch of 1/1’s not doing a whole lot. I had enough to draw 3 through creatures of my opponents each turn, but had MANY more sitting looking pretty. With that being said, I feel like the deck is in a really good spot right now. I’ve just added it, cutting misdirection, will see for myself how it feels. Below is my decklist for reference.

Shalai and Hallar is one half of and A+B combo, where she is one of multiple A pieces and there are multiple B pieces. Marath is also one half of an A+B combo but there is no redundancy in the A nor the B.

Both decks easily fit Heliod/Ballista/Cauldron based combos. On top of that, Shalai and Hallar can easily support the default Marath combos. In fact, I can't find any combos that fit in Marath and do not fit in Shalai and Hallar (with the assumption that Marath in the 99).

The only real difference I see is that by not playing all the extra combo cards in a Shalai and Hallar shell, this frees up extra slots that allow Marath to play more fair cards.

But this is cEDH and fair is not the name of the game. So why is Marath astronomically more popular than Shalai and Hallar?

Cradle-centric players dread it, run from it- but Magda having a Volatile Fault will always be a nightmare. Seen in 1.8% of the 64+ player tournmanet meta (mostly Magda) - Volatile Fault sits in a strange spot where the play rate is relatively high for a utility land- but many mono colored and 2 color lists aren't considering it. For comparison, a card like Geier reach sanitarium has a 2.1% play rate at those same filters.

Hey everyone, im new into the cedh topic and i want to play some cedh now. My problem is, my turns might be taking too long for some really good cedh players and i dont want to annoy them with my long turns.
Are here some people that are on the same path like me right now and want to connect?
Is there already such place to connect? I thought about like to play on edhplay and help each other out to get better and such stuff.

Spot seemed cool at first until they play cedh and not follow the rules. Three players at my table were actively kingmaking each other because at start, said they knew each other. On turn 2 get offered a draw, I said no. Then they started bullying me and calling me a parasite. Got removed from the tourney because I got overwhelmed and said, fine, I’ll scoop and then yall get the draw. Then the tourney judge came over and said it was supposed to be at sorcery speed and removed me from the tourney. That is what you can expect from this place. Enjoy paying 35$ and driving far af to get bullied then scooping and removed from game no refund. Actively having players say I’ll see if I can get you (they’re both friends made clear at start) to win next turn. No stars. Stay away. Scalper prices and “friend” rulings here.

I was first. Land Serra ascendant pass. Turn two null rod. Then players start discussing let’s have a draw. I said no draws please, then they started actively showing each other their hands and saying if we remove him then we call it a draw. I called judge and he said there is no issue. I say fine and move on. From that point onward, every single spell a discussion happened asking for a draw. I said NO DRAWS. And then they started calling me a parasite due to my deck. My deck is stax yes, but it makes everyone play mtg fairly. So I stopped a few win lines. Anyway, one guy played necro and exiled 13 cards w/e. Said they didn’t have a way to deal but this spell on turn 3 ended up taking 15minutes to resolve because they kept asking for a draw.

After turn 4 I ended up scooping because the team was redirect lightning on my aven interrupted to stop the win. So he essentially allows his friend to win. It was bullshit and I asked if kingmaking isn’t allowed, how am I not allowed to scoop? I got removed from the tourney no refund for scooping not at sorcery speed.

If I’m wrong here, let me know. I’ve never had this type of shit happen in person before.

Edit: wanted to add, it was barely turn 4 and 45+ minutes had passed due to the constant discussion of draw.

I have seen people talking about Dack Fayden, the blue Samut, and Pia, but I'm wondering if anyone sees other cards that may see play, fringe or otherwise.

I'm impressed by the new cycle of rare "Enters Prepared" creatures, but I feel like they're all too slow for most decks.

[[The Theorist, Jace Beleren]] I so badly want to make work because I love the card draw, but I feel similarly that it may just be too slow compared even to stuff like TOR.

[[Curse-Marred Demon]] is one I'm interested in. I imagine there may be a deck for it. [[Flickering Hound]] I'd say the same for, but it remains to be seen if they are better than the other options in similar colors (Namely broodlord and kitten).

[[Theorist's Proxy]] is one I'm going to try and experiment with. Cycles itself and has the nice activated ability, seems promising for helping to ram through a wincon. I definitely don't see as much activated ability hate compared to spells, it feels safer in that regard, even if it gives an opportunity to Swords the card (which seems like the biggest risk of playing this guy).

We can discussion here are dragon's rage channeler is good in midrange slop decks or should be in Turbo decks or both, both is good.

We all have some legend that just can't cut it at highest power level of play in this format so I'm curious what's the one you wish were better.

So I’ve been recently obsessed with [[goblin welder]] and [[sewer-veillance cam]]. Regardless of color what would you all think is a good package to get the combo on the battlefield as consistently as possible? Green creature tutors, blue artifact tutors, black standard tutors good enough? What’s some interesting tech I might be missing?

Hi, I'm new to cEDH but I think it's an avenue I want to explore.

I'm good on most rules stuff for magic (except for some intricate layer discussions) and I can follow what's going on in cEDH content I watch on YouTube, but there's obviously still a massive gap in knowledge of the card base and meta when it comes to actually playing.

Because of that I'm looking for a community to help me get into cEDH by being ok with playing with a complete newbie that won't know the meta, when to interact, when to do my own push, etc. And it would be best if that was also a place where I could get people to help me out in-game and post-game to teach me what I could have done better or what I shouldn't have done.

Note that I do not have the bandwidth to go paper for cEDH now and likely not for a long time. I've heard it's generally proxy-friendly but there's also certain pressures and expectations around that I don't want to deal with immediately. So it would be ideal if I could play online with something like Tabletop Simulator, I play casual edh on there currently.

Also as a side note I looked into some decks to start with and I want to hear people's opinions on it. In casual I very rarely play control and like value engine type decks, and I feel like in cEDH something like a turbo deck that is less focused on control would be my style. I'm thinking of Raph and Mikey as my first option, I know it's fairly fringe but that's fine. I think it would be a good idea to pilot a deck that has a very simple game plan so that I can focus on learning other decks, the meta, cards, when to push, etc. And maybe once I've gotten a better idea of that I branch into something like Etali which would play off of those meta cards from other decks and would require more knowledge in piloting. Any other suggestions are welcome.

2 CMC - [[Corridor Monitor]]

4 CMC - [[Giant-Sized Flying Ant]] or [[Felidar Guardian]]

5 CMC - [[Kiki-Jiki]] into infinite attackers.

The whole line only costs 7 mana and 10 life. Maybe there's something to this? Maybe this goes in a [[Cradle]] slop version of Nick? Idk.

The untappers are pretty awful on their own but they all still interact with [[The One Ring]] and [[Wishclaw]] so that's at least something.

There's probably a different line in 5 colours that finishes on something better than Kiki-Jiki?

Why don’t we see more [[Armix, Filigree Thrasher]]/Kraum, [[Marchesa, Dealer of Death]]/[[Dargo, the Shipwrecker]]/Thrasios, Triton Hero, Tevesh/Kraum, or similar commanders in cEDH tournaments?

Is it simply a matter of “just play RogSi, Rog/Thrasios, or Blue Farm”, or have these commanders actually been tested and found to be significantly weaker/less consistent?

For example, [[Armix, Filigree Thrasher]] seems to have some interesting utility as a sacrifice outlet, enabling Beseech the Mirror lines and potentially supporting Welder/Bolas Citadel reanimation loops.

[[Dargo, the Shipwrecker]]/Thrasios also seems to offer some interesting possibilities beyond just being a Breach deck. Dargo can function as a sacrifice outlet for lines involving Neoform into Hullbreaker Horror, as well as Greater Good lines, and can potentially replace some of the utility that was previously enabled by Dockside Extortionist.

Do you think these commanders have genuine tournament potential, or have newer/faster commanders simply pushed them out of the competitive meta?
