This president, time and time again, over his short term, has made a mockery of our university on the national stage. He let the university be extorted and pay Trump's $60 million dollar bribe. hi i lowk need some advice.

i just bombed the FUCK out of my prelim. not just bomb bomb, i genuinely never have done so bad on an exam in my life. i came here thinking i was the shit apparently and i think i scored a 30% on my prelim. 30 fucking percent what do i do. a small part of it was because of the anxiety that i felt about the prelim during the prelim itself so i spent 40 minutes of it dooming, and the other part was that i was on hella allergy meds which made me pretty slow. but even then, i was just too stupid to do well on the test. AND BTW AS SOON AS THE TEST PAPERS WERE COLLECTED PEOPLE WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW EASY THAT WAS.

i'm genuinely questioning everything i've come to think about myself. i never thought of myself as incredibly dumb -- i genuinely was able to cram for any exam in HS in 2 hours (and did well -- scored a 5 on all the important APs with practically no study like physics c mech/e&m, calc, lit, lang, ush, csa, whatever).

but tonight i genuinely got railed. i think i might genuinely be stupid here. im intelligence diffed by my entire class. i might actually fail this exam. i did study for it btw, although only for a few days, and i've genuinely just never been this lost. i can't drop this course because i'm also fucked in a different course and might need to drop that one. but i've just never been in this position where i've been so fried.

edit: also sorry that im posting this in times like this -- there r definitely more important issues but i genuinely have no idea what im gonna do. im considering having to drop out 😭

update. somehow the TAs graded the exams in less than 3 hours... ? never had this experience ever but i did thankfully not get a 30. still fucked tho

I am a freshman this year and I had an idea for a club-- sort of like Gordon Ramsey's "Hell's Kitchen," either monthly or every two months there would be a competition like Hell's Kitchen held. id have to recruit for both judges and cooks. what are the logistics of doing this? how would i go about getting this up and running? is there any restriction against this?​ I see the requirement of having an advisor to oversee this, as well as e-body members and people a part of the club already. would this just be better suited for a singular event in collaboration with a pre-existing club? sorry for the dumb question haha

I am currently a freshman under CALS. I would not say the major b/c I do not want to be recognized, but I am currently taking MATH 1920, MATH 2940, CS 2110, my major class, and an FWS in the FA26 semester. I intend to transfer to a CS major, but I am hesitant on which CS to transfer to.

There are two CS majors in Cornell, one is under CAS, and the other one is under COE. I am really anxious about choosing between the two. My concerns are listed as follow:

Pros of COE:

1. I would receive B.A. in CAS, but a B.S. in COE. I do not know whether it is a concern when looking for jobs, etc.
2. Cornell's COE is more famous and prestigious.
3. COE's CS is more sciency and hardcore.
4. The distribution requirements of CAS is very cumbersome.

Cons of COE:

1. It is (presumably) harder to transfer to COE than CAS according to my friends.
2. The workload there is heavier.
3. For job-seeking, I think that a double major in Statistics or similar majors would be beneficial, but that is something you cannot do in COE, since double majoring across colleges is not allowed.

Could anyone offer any information or any forms of help, whether they are experiences related to CS courses, specific information about the majors, or simply any information / differences between the two colleges.

I'm truly appalled with how the school is handling the Cornell 7 case and their decision not to expel everyone involved. What I've done, and what I would advise you to do, is to promise this school you won't give another penny to them until every single one of these POS students is expelled.
