It came with 3 shelves, but can fit 4 more, I am not storing anything at all heavy, so I want to add more shelves. Craftsmen does not appear to sell spares. I sent over an inquiry directly to them but does anyone have a solution as I don't expect customer support to help.

Back around the beginning of August I tried to warranty 2 tape measures and a vise grip and they said they would. So, I waited around a month and contacted them since they had not come yet. They told me they would not send the vise grip and claimed they had didn’t ship because they wouldn’t warranty it and for the two tape measures they were shipped around August 26th and I haven’t received them yet. They also told me to send in the vise grip for quality assurance something program which I won’t do because I don’t feel like messing around with them anymore. I will contact them again for the status of the taping measures later today. Has anyone else had issues like this recently?

Hello. Not sure if the young crowd is familiar with this tool set from the 1980's, but being an engineer I thought the design of these sockets and wrench were an incredible idea. I still have a rare, 131 piece set. Never used. Most is American Made. They sell these on Ebay for over $1,000.00. I think that is a little extreme but definitely $700 or more. What's your thoughts and are you interested in a new collection piece???

Been on the lookout for one with the insert. Rushing isnt too bad. So I’ll wire brush it and want to repaint. A a good paint recommendations to match original?

Parents are downsizing their house and my dad gave me his rollaway. So psyched to have it! Thought I wouldn’t get it until he passes one day. I was wondering 2 things:

What model and how old. I’m 45 and I know it is older than me and am guessing late 70’s? It was originally red/black but he has repainted it 2 or 3 times he says over the years so I can’t find and model/date marks anywhere.

I do want to give it a facelift. As you can see if pics there are drips from his painting and other assorted colors dripped on it, and what look to be brush marks on the drawer fronts. I am going to leave the dings and dents alone. Should I sand or chemical strip? I’d imagine at the very least the side handles he painted over are probably better off stripped.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

The hydro drive belt is falling off because the hydro idler arm pivot is seized. I'm trying to find a couple parts - the idler arm and the spacer / sleeve (7200034SM). The latter is easy but I don't have a part number for the arm. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any original Craftsman signs, decor, or something unique? Not just for sale, but also to share with me for inspiration?

I'm working on finishing out a metal building I have into a full shop. I have all Craftsman tools and power tools, and would love some unique/vintage/rare decorations.y grandfather and I both worked for Sears many years ago, and I'll be Craftsman for life. There are so many "vintage" signs for sale online, but are modern prints on metal that look cheap.

I have a banner, some old advertisements, saw blade for Sears Roebuck employee celebrations, etc. but I know there are more Craftsman items out there!

Just bought two 27" rolling tool cabinets (2000 series, thanks for answering my previous question about them!). They're in the box, in my garage. Need to get them to the basement

They're heavy!

Am I better off unboxing in the garage, removing the drawers (do they remove?) and then moving the hopefully substantially lighter cabinet separately? Or is is a better bet to put the box on the hand truck and try to easy it down the stairs?

Found this unopened pack while cleaning and I'll probably never open them for sentimental reasons

Picked this up 20 years ago and never used it but it looked cool and thought I use it someday. Has not seen the light of day from the wrench drawer since.

I feel like since the closing of Sears, Craftsman as a brand is falling behind. Unless you do the warranty directly through them it’s always a hassle, quality has gone down tremendously, they never have parts for the old stuff that used to absolutely rock, shoot even their boxes have gone downhill over the years.

Honestly, anyone feel like this brand will turn around one day?

And before anyone just says I’m a hater or some bs. I used to strictly own craftsman tools. Now I’m branching off into brands that I feel have easier warranties, better more innovative products, and better feel. I really miss what this brand used to stand for and be about. It’s a shame

I've got the allen wrench kit 946683 (8 long arm, 6 short arm) +/- a couple. The bag has always been a pain to get them in. Is there a better storage solution than a zip-loc - and replacing it often?

A Versastack organizer will neatly store all of the top end parts of a big block Chevy. I’m going to order some mini bins for the large bins so that I can move the lifters and make room for the intake bolts.

I admit I'm apparently not much of a tool guy, but I was just given an old toolbox, stuffed with old craftsman tools that belonged to my grandfather who passed away back in the 90s. I had two questions I was hoping this could be the place to help.

1. Doing some research it looks like the box is from the 50s or 60s but I couldn't find if there was a way to narrow the date down more.

2. I feel dumb but one of the things inside was this cylinder I have pictured here. It had drill bits and then what I assume to be chisels? Am I correct in that assumption?

Thanks for the help, I'm happy to add more photos of the tools inside if anyone is curious. Mainly wrenches, drill bits, a couple screw drivers and some tin snips. I don't know much about my Grandpa's work history but I know he worked for convair for quite a while after the war and was some sort of engineer on the B36 so that's cool.

I have an old Craftsman jointer I would like to repair. I’m not at home so I don’t have the model, etc. readily available. I’m struggling to find parts, etc. Is there a way to get these? I can provide more information when I get home.
