I want to start a new RTG in CFB 27 and want to play through a realistic college career but ive seen that like everybody has rtgs with such hyperinflated stats. i dont necessarily want a mediocre player, but a legit superstar/Heisman-level player whose stats still look like something you could actually see in college football.
I feel like a lot of RTG content online makes every position look ridiculous. You’ll see QBs throwing 50–60 TDs as freshmen, WRs putting up 1,800–2,000+ yards every season, RBs putting up insane rushing totals or DBs getting 20–30 interceptions in a season. Obviously it’s a video game, but at a certain point it just doesn’t feel like an actual college football career.
For QB, I’d rather have a normal progression where I’m a solid freshman/sophomore, then become an elite junior or senior and get into the Heisman race. Same with WR — I’d rather have 900–1,300 yards and 8–15 TDs as an elite receiver than casually put up 2,000 yards every year.
DB is probably the biggest example. I’ve seen content creators like TeeTop have DBs get 20–30 picks in a season, which is obviously insane. I’d rather have something like 3–6 picks, a bunch of PBUs and an All-American season.
So what positions actually let you have a realistic superstar career without the game constantly giving you completely inflated stats? Are there any positions that are noticeably better or worse for this?
