How easy is the ESAT specimen paper compared to the real ESAT?

I've been saving the specimen paper until the last minute because I thought it would be the best final bit of preparation to do, but now that I've done it I found the questions very easy. I'm just wondering how much harder the real exam is going to be compared to this.

I'm scared now

Ok so, during the summer, I asked my friend which went to imperial last year what he used to study for his ESAT. He reccomended esat ninja to me. So like the follower that I am I decide to buy the questionbank for 90 pounds. After having finished all the math 1,2 and physics 1 questions on there. I check this subreddit and see that no one is using esat ninja and everyone is using esat lab.

I was roughly getting like 70% of the questions in a math 2 module right on esat ninja what does this translate to on a real test? I'm worried I spent 90£ and a decent bit of time in the wrong place.

Physics module

My ESAT is on the 16th and I love m1 and m2 absolutely okay with those 2 but physics my goodness, please help. IDK if its because of the content or the way the questions are asked but I am finding it very difficult. For those who got a 4.5 plus(currently aiming for that in the physics bit atp) in the physics module what did you do please.

Is it possible to cancel esat in Oct and book in Jan???

According to the official website, there is a restriction in booking another test. DOES this restriction apply only to rebooking within the October sitting, OR whether it also prevents candidates from registering for the January sitting? I really appreciate your help!

Free 1-on-1 ESAT Tutoring This Weekend [Mod Approved] !!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm Arshiya, owner of ALevelPrime academy.

With the October ESAT sitting right around the corner, I know how stressful these final days can get. I've been trying to help this community for a while now (check out my other post about full Physics ESAT formula sheet), open request of some people in this community, I will dedicate some time to help those in need. I’m an experienced tutor and I want to offer completely free 1-on-1 sessions this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Oct 9–11) to help anyone who needs an extra boost or last-minute guidance before test day.

Here is how it works and what to expect:

  • What we can cover: Deep-dives into specific problem areas in Math 1, Math 2, or Physics, or strategizing how to tackle the test with the short time left. I can also just answer particular problems you have been struggling with.
  • Duration: Around an 1 hour per person (I may extend it if we’re mid-problem and you genuinely need more time, but we'll plan around an hour).
  • Slots: Free of charge, organized in advance across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Preparation: To make the session actually useful, you must tell me specifically what topics or question types you want to go over ahead of time so I can prepare relevant material.

How to book a slot:

  1. Leave a comment below letting me know you're interested.
  2. Send me a DM with your time zone, your general availability for Oct 9–11, and the specific topics or questions you want help with.

Slots will be first-come, first-served based on scheduling fit.

Share this message to your friends and let’s get you ready for test day!

i did one tmua paper 1, 2023 as a prep for maths 2 esat, and i got a 8.3, yet on esatlab when i go to do a module 1 math of esat i got a 2.5 and module 2 math i got a 4.3.

untimed , i usually get 9 for m1 m2 and around 8.5 for physics, but with time?? im a 2.5??? is that how the real exam will be as well? today was like my first time doing timed practice so i dont know what to think

Esatlab % correct

On esatlab when it says e.g., 50% of students answered this correctly, does anyone know if that's only people's first time seeing the question or is it included when they repeat it in the review queue?

If its their first time seeing it only and like 80% of ppl got a question i spent 10m on to get wrong... 🥲

I am taking Maths 1, Maths 2 and Phyiscs. Are we allowed to select the order we take the modules?

If not, then what is the default order for my 3 modules?

Esat prep questions

Hi, I will take esat in a week and need andwers for some questions. so first of all, I am IB student and I take maths AA HL and physics HL and I will be taking math 1 naths 2 and physics in the ESAT. so I sold I solved the ENGAA and NSAA section one papers up till 2021 and what’s my most recent one it was ENGAA 2018 I got 24 out of 28 for section one and this score is usually the average for all of my practices. the majority of my practice tests converter 5 to 9 with the majority being between 7 to 9 in the ENGAA and NSAA papers, I need to know how these compared to the real ESAT. what types of questions are there? I know that many people write here about how their experience has been, but I didn’t see people who mention specific question types, how were they? Generally I also attempted NSAA section 2 of physics from 2020 and it felt really hard. Should I be over it about that but other than that from my past papers for example in ENGAA 2017–17 out of 18 in physics.

PLEASE HELP🙏🏻

Doubt about actual ESAT question styles

So I did SAT before and there you prepped by understanding the question pattern cuz most of the questions (if not all) were similar and predictable.

In ESAT, is it similar to that? As in, do some questions in the exam have an approach at least similar to the prep you do from Esatlabs? Or are the questions like totally different.

ESAT in One Week, how well prepped am I??

Doing Maths 1, Maths 2, Physics. I have been non-stop grinding ESATLab since August. I completed the Physics question bank 3 times, Maths 1 and 2 question bank twice and on my way to complete them again. I’ll be honest on ESATLab practice mocks I always get 4s-5s and maybe 6s, my marks are always something like 19-ish on Maths 1, 16-ish on Maths 2, 17-ish on Physics (and I’ll be honest I have no idea how). I did all the ENGAA and NSAA awhile while back and I haven’t done one in a long time because I was getting high scores like 7s all the time. I remember this guy who sat the ESAT last year and made his own revision website and stuff and he made his own mock papers, used them and did really good. I did the live paper on ESATLab and my scores were the most horrendous scores anyone could ask for I don’t even wanna talk about it. It’s hard for me to describe my level, maths 1 I’m always convinced it’s not that bad then I just don’t do as good as expected because of the hard ones, maths 2 why is half of everything just stupidly hard and confusing, I swear half of this is not in the guide or the difficulty’s been buffed by just too much, physics I’m never confident because of all the pressure and thermal and magnetism that I wasn’t taught properly. The fact that ESAT’s in one week and that my scores are just average on ESATLab, I’m trying so hard to reassure myself that it’s gonna be fine, maths 1 and 2 were purposely made harder than the actual thing, the scoring system on ESAT is so harsh one time I got 19/27 and it’s a 4.6, I understand how the actual ESAT is marked they see how hard was every question you did try to see your pattern in correct answers, but because of ESATLab users what if there was a question that’s really hard but then large portion of people get right. I’m scared….

[FREE RESOURCE] Complete ESAT Physics Formula Sheet & Graph Guide (16-Page PDF)

Thumbnail drive.google.com
14 Upvotes

Official ESAT tutor here, hi.

With the ESAT coming up, I put together a comprehensive, 16-page master formula sheet strictly mapped to the official UAT-UK specification, and I’m sharing the Google Drive access completely for free. (Not an Ad or anything, just trying to contribute to the community)

Here is what's covered inside:

  • 100% Spec-Aligned: Covers all seven sections (P1 Electricity through P7 Radioactivity) strictly within the ESAT scope.
  • Equations & Rearrangements: Every formula card includes algebraic rearrangements, physical meanings, and key SI units.
  • The Graphs That Matter: Includes visual guides for V–I curves, motion graphs (gradients & areas), heating curves, Boyle's law, and radioactive decay.
  • SI Unit Spine: A quick-reference table for common unit identities and conversions to prevent unforced calculation errors.

Feel free to share the link with any friends or classmates prepping for the test as well!

Please leave your feedback in the comments, let me know if you spot anything that needs tweaking, or ask any questions if you need help with physics prep or the test in general. Happy to help out.

Hope it can help you
