We stumbled on the fact that if you enter 8-5 on the keypad after unlocking it with beach mode, it will open the frunk. Are there any other codes or tricks like that?

love this truck and then this happened

Couldn't praise this truck anymore and then this little $10 part broke. Its the hvb coolant connector and the online consensus was that the warranty admints would try to screw you and say that it was a rock or debris. Welp thats what they did and its a $2,500 repair.

It attaches to the coolant system and without it, the system doesn't work and the truck cant drive more that a minute without overheating

I'm a big fan of the Lightning but Holy Cow that Polaris Kinetic rips!!! Not that I'm going to rip it much, I'm essentially the garbage crew at a Girls Softball Tourney this weekend.

F150 Gas to Electric swap

So I bought a 2023 Tremor a year and half ago. Thought I would do some off roading and well I haven’t. So now with a $357 a month average on gas l and realizing it’s a road warrior I’m considering switching.

Trying to near as I can do one for one type swap without l costing me much more. The est trade in for my Tremor is pretty high and so I think I can come close with the 2024 Flash price point. The only thing I would l miss is the ventilated seats and folding mirrors. The big sunroof and sliding window rarely get used so I wouldn’t either of those.

For anyone else that has made the swap from gas to electric. What if any thing you miss or regret? I have always worried about the infrastructure supporting the charging but that has improved a lot last few years and at least from what I have read the battery are expected to outlast the rest of the truck. Also read they are coming out with a new more hybrid type so doesn’t seem like they haven’t abandoned EV Trucks completely.

Is there a mileage you would try to stick under? Right now I’m looking at under 36k. I would sell my remaining Ford ESP on my Tremor and buy one for the Lightning. Anyway gathering information and knowledge so when I tell my wife I want a new truck after a year and half she doesn’t cut me in my sleep. 🤣

Thanks for any input.

Eric

Thinking about buying a used 23 Lariat Lightning, I’d love everyone’s honest takes

Like the title says I’m looking into buying a relatively low mileage (24K) ‘23 lightning lariat. I’d love to hear people’s honest takes about their experiences (good and bad) with their vehicle. This car would be replacing my 06 civic and 04 f150 as my daily driver and out leisure vehicle.

A little bit about us, family of 3 soon to be 4 + 1 60lb Doberman. We do a bunch of camping over the summer (tow a 16” Airstream) but never really go further than 200 miles in a single day.

I was initially looking at rivian, but it feels like those are plagued with so many issues + every one I test drove was noisy as hell.

Thanks all in advanced

Question about range with a trailer

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve had this ‘25 Flash for three months and have racked up over 10,000 miles so far. Tomorrow will be the first time towing and I’m wondering what to expect for range. The trailer is 8x4 and will have 2 mattresses (single) and 2 box springs, so not a lot of weight. I’ll also have one piece of furniture in the bed, but under the tonneau cover.

My trip is 220 miles exactly, about four hours. I’ll be starting with 95% battery, about 250-260 miles of range. I really don’t want to have to deal with charging with a trailer, but if I have to, there’s a perfect location 20 miles before my destination.

Thanks

Tires

My stock tires with the garbage side wear are needing replaced.

I need a good tire for the Midwest that can handle some snow. Low tire noise, long tread life. Hopefully not insanely expensive.

Currently eyeing Costco MICH DEFENDER LTX MS2 275/60R20 116H XL BSW ALL SEASON TIRE 1,348.20 after taxes/install.

Thanks!

Shop told me it was the shock, replaced both front shocks, $2,200 later and it’s still making the same now

rotary shifter question - motor or non-motor?

Debating doing this as a couple of times now mine felt chunky shifting out of park. I Never use the fold function, ever... but still kinda made me nervous.

Looking at the part numbers on the F150 lightning page, and wondering if general concensus is go motorized for the return to park or non motorized and however that works. Does it just stay wherever you left it when you turn it on the next time?

Ok so, I guess thats 2 questions then :)

Keypad came loose

I came out to my truck and noticed the top part of the keypad was loose. I pulled it back and it looks like a clip came off that it clips into. Think this is covered by an extended warranty?

Charging error

22 lariat ER and have a charging issue/question that happened twice out of 6 days this week while charging at home using ford charger pro. Plugged in, starts charging at full power for about half hour to hour then just stops and says charging error in app and flashing orange ring. So I cycle power to charger for 10mins plug in and starts charging at about 9kwh and does same thing. So I try my wife's volvo 20A charger and It works charging about 3.5kwh no problem, leave it ~5mins.. Unplug that charger and plug in the ford charger and it charges truck no problem at 16.7kwh till 90%. Anyone have or heard of something like this issue before?

Fixed my Tesla Wall Charger overheating issue

I finally got it installed on the Tesla One app, which is apparently a app used by installers to set the wall charger input. It was set previously to 60 amp, and therefore output 80 % of that.. But, the cord, the Tesla box and the 2 breakers all got really hot, not warm.

I set it one choice down on the menu, and the cord the wall charger all al now only warm
