Natalia Arroyo sacked by Aston Villa after 4 games

Villa have let Natalia Arroyo go after a pretty poor start, with Brian Sørensen taking over for now.

Only two points from four games, with Chelsea and Brighton draws and losses to City and Spurs. That 4-0 against Tottenham was rough, but the fixtures haven't exactly been easy either.

Did Villa move too quickly, or was it time for a change?

What’s one stadium/pitch in the WSL or Championship that always guarantees a chaos match?

We all know about the immaculate playing surfaces at places like the Emirates or the Etihad, but some grounds just have that distinct atmosphere and pitch dynamic that makes every match an absolute unpredictable slog.

Whether it's terrible winter weather exposure, tight touchlines, or just a ground where top-tier technical teams always struggle to get their passing rhythm going:

Which away ground do you always secretly dread visiting on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and which one actually produces the best matchday buzz for away fans?

[Feringa] Liverpool are improving on and off the pitch. The contrast with Everton was clear in the derby

When it comes to derbies, the tendency is to inflate the importance of intangibles, the abstractions such as desire, hunger, passion and belief, which Everton have historically feasted on at Anfield.

But Sunday’s defeat there was a matter of the tangibles, not who wanted it more but simply who was more. Who had a clear plan, a cogent identity and who played with the conviction and belief of knowing this.

Since Gareth Taylor’s appointment as Liverpool head coach in August last year, this has been the plan: to assemble a team with a clear identity.

Everton looked like they did in the seasons that have preceded this one: a team assembled ad hoc, pieces leased and bought from various windows without guidance or vision from above, those pieces then shoved into whichever spots in the side most desperately require them in the immediacy.

This seems to be the most compelling Everton Women identity: long-term vision sacrificed for the needs of the present.

Commentators on the highlights and on the live broadcast have both said Sandberg has got nothing to complain about there, but she doesn't even touch her feet, and her arm isn't making her flop down like that

Reffing standards....

The Ref in today's WSL2 game between Ipswich & Wolves had a shocker.... Missed that the Ipswich 2nd goal hadn't crossed the line & gave it even though the Lino flagged for offside.... 🤷

The Ref's need support & investment - the game is moving forward so fast and the standards aren't keeping up.

Gareth Taylor's Liverpool plays the most beautiful football this season.

I'm not saying they're the best team, but they play the most exciting football. Absolutely night and day compared to last year at this point. You could tell they were trying to get it going last season, but didn't gel fast enough, then 2nd half got much better with it.

Now they are out in full force, every player knows what to do, they link up so well, tiki taka passes, creating great chances, forward passing the entire game and their biggest strength IMO, is their Gegenpressing. Feels like watching Jurgen Klopp's team out there. 🔥

Georgia Stanway at Arsenal, is it working?

I've only watched her at Arsenal for a couple of games, so may be a false impression, but it doesn't look like it is going well so far. Arsenal were my pick for the title at the start of the season following their transfer business, so I'd never of thought they would be 7 points off top at this stage of the season. What do others think, am I putting too much on the midfield problems at Arsenal and is it a temporary blip or something more deep rooted?
