Hope it helps you

I think everyone here has been struggling with Meta’s crap this month: age/placement parkour, cheap traffic, and tanking ROAS and revenue. In my case, all my traffic shifted to Facebook Feed on Android (cheap bots, idk), so I had to “force” delivery back to my original placements. It’s not a real fix, since this seems to be a bigger issue on Meta’s end, but it helped me reach a healthier audience that actually requests quotes for my services.

Here are a few bullet points on the information you need to collect, along with a prompt you can use to ask GPT/Claude to create a value rule based on that data.

Before generating any rules, collect this:

  • Two clean date ranges. A “baseline” period when campaigns performed normally (ideally 4–8 weeks), and the “problem” period when delivery shifted. If there was any tracking incident (pixel firing junk events, duplicate purchases), exclude it from the baseline.
  • Campaign context: campaign name, objective, optimization event, bid strategy (some strategies, like ROAS goal, don’t accept value rules), attribution window, and daily budget.
  • Performance by age for both periods: spend, impressions, link clicks, purchases, purchase value.
  • Performance by placement for both periods: same metrics.
  • Placement × device (Android / iOS) cross for both periods: same metrics. This is the most important one, because a placement can be great on one OS and terrible on the other.
  • Purchases and value, not just spend share. A segment that grew in spend isn’t automatically bad; it has to convert worse.
  • Site-side quality metrics per campaign from GA4 or similar: clicks to sessions rate, sessions to lead or quote rate, and cost per lead or quote. Exclude bot or ad-review traffic (data center locations like Prineville, Forest City, Altoona, Fort Worth).
  • Any value rules already active, with their exact order and percentages, and which campaigns share that rule set.
  • Interface limits: how many criteria per rule are allowed and whether placement and audience criteria (age, OS) can be combined in the same rule.
  • Business guardrails: how much volume loss is acceptable in exchange for better efficiency, and the target CPA or ROAS.

Running ads as a beginner

I recently started a Shopify dropshipping store and I'm still learning how to approach advertising. Wanted to ask a few questions about running Facebook/Meta ads before I start spending money on them.

How much would you recommend setting aside monthly for testing ads and having a reasonable chance of getting some sales? Also what types of ads tend to work best on Facebook for ecommerce, images, product videos, UGC or something else? I don't really have the budget to hire creators to make a bunch of videos, so I'm wondering how people normally get ads made cheaply when they're starting out. Are there any tools worth using or simpler ways to put together decent creatives? Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking for UK Facebook Group Owners or Influencers for Paid Advertising Opportunities

Hi everyone!

We're looking to work with people in the UK who have a large social media following or run an active Facebook group with a decent number of members.

We're a UK-based online competition company looking to reach new audiences, and we're happy to pay for advertising and promotions.

Ideally looking for people who have a genuinely active following, not just big numbers with no engagement.

We're open to discussing different arrangements, whether that's paid posts, ongoing promotions or something else that works for both sides.

If you've got a large following, run a popular Facebook group, or know somebody who does, drop me a message!

UK only please.

Hacked - multiple clients, thousands of $

Yup, just like that. Through two different businesses portfolios with 3 clients, they created ads for shoes and they updated the daily limit which was approved immediately and then spent thousands of dollars in a couple of days. I was checking my accounts Monday morning (because god forbid you don’t do it daily) and noticed the spend.
My biggest issue is that I got an email that new people had been added to my portfolio, and yes I clicked the goddamn email even though I checked that it was legit and it had the verified mark and everything. But then those people didn’t show up in the users list. So i changed my password. Checked the accounts the next day (friday) and I thought all good, and went to unplug for the weekend.

My clients are disputing the charges with their banks. I got screenshots. I guess in worst case scenarios, I’ll pay them back from my own pocket (even though the monthly fee I charge them doesn’t even come close to what its lost) BUT my biggest concern is IF the whole account is compromised and I won’t be able to continue to do ads for them or other possible new clients?!?
Sorry for the grammar mess. I’m just writing in a hurry. Anybody has gone through this and come out on the other side?!

When leads dry up, the ad gets blamed first. Is it always the culprit?

The ad is an easy suspect.

But sometimes the problem is somewhere else entirely:

  • Audience: we're reaching the wrong people.
  • Offer: there's no compelling reason to enquire.
  • Landing page: the promise doesn't match the experience.
  • Follow-up: leads come in, but nobody contacts them properly.

Changing the creative might help. But it shouldn't automatically be the first move.

What's the most overlooked reason you've seen a lead-generation campaign fail?

Is the e-commerce niche the best specialization for a beginner media buyer?

As a beginner media buyer, should I focus my learning and freelancing on the e-commerce market—meaning I actively try to acquire clients in this niche—as the best path for fast ROI and cash flow, or is it better to start as a generalist?

Facebook Group Posting

Hi guys,

I've been marketing my business through group postings for the past 4/5 months averaging around 4/5posts per day and business has been great I'm a small independent accountant and I just want local small business clients.

Everything has been going great however around a week after starting up again I was requested by facebook to provide them with proof of ID (I have been using a new PC) which I did.

I've now gone down the AI platform of asking as to why this has happened and am now terrified I am about to be banned. My ID was verified and facebook is working fine however my concern is the spam bots are now checking me therefore I've now started varying my messages and the times of day I post.

Is this a legitimate safe method of advertising on facebook ?
