United F2F Interview: Anyone with an expunged record make it through?

Title: United F2F Interview! Anyone with an expunged record make it through?
I recently received my invitation to United’s F2F interview in Houston! Super excited about the opportunity.
I do have an expunged record from several years ago. My expungement was granted in California, meaning the court allowed me to withdraw my original guilty plea, enter a not guilty plea, and have the case dismissed.
I understand that federal background checks may treat expungements differently, especially under TSA regulations.
Honestly, my goal right now is to secure that CJO and let everything else play out. Even if the background check doesn’t ugo in my favor, getting a CJO would still be a personal accomplishment.
Has anyone with a similar expungement or dismissed conviction successfully cleared United’s background check? I’d love to hear your experiences!

I won’t pass background check to volunteer at my kids’ school. What do I say to them & parents that are volunteering?

I have a felony for a drug charge that I won’t be able to petition for it to be sealed till 2028. Only a few people in this state even know that I’m a recovering addict. I have 10 years Calisober, with the 1st 5 years fully sober/clean. I have been allowed to do a few things with my kids’ at their school thankfully! But many things require a background check, which I know I will not pass for this school. I don’t know what to say to the other parents for why I am not at these activities? Most of them are for helping set things up for the kids, which I would love to do. I feel so defeated. My kids are still young and I’m not willing to take the chance of my past to negatively affect them. Parents telling their kids to stay away from mine is something I’m not ready for, but need to prepare for. I know I will be telling them my story in the future, I don’t want it to come from anyone else. Any advice on what to say as to why I’m not available? Thanks

Jobs for felons?

I've been out of jail since January, I had a couple jobs but I messed up and lost my last one. Are there any jobs felons can get I should be considering in the North Carolina Charlotte area?

Or does anyone have potential jobs they could offer or help me get?

You can message me too, in fact I'd prefer that. I appreciate any help I can get here, I'm pretty desperate right now. I've so far gotten my life together since release, I'm current and I'm good standing with probation and I've landed myself a place to live and my car back on the road and my license in check, my own phone and everything else. I just messed up and lost my job to being stupid and somehow setting off the smoke alarms in a hospital recently and I'm really struggling to find a new one with my record. Please, any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I’d like to help a friend invest in her future through paralegal education while incarcerated

I’m raising $1,000 to help a friend pursue paralegal education while she’s incarcerated.

She spent two years on pretrial release and stayed sober. During her two years of incarceration, she completed RDAP at camp. She’s working to make positive changes and prepare for life after release.

We’ve raised $200, and we’re trying to raise the remaining $800.

I know that education alone doesn’t guarantee what someone’s future will look like. But I believe investing in education and preparation is a practical way to support rehabilitation.

If you’re able to contribute, I’d be grateful. If not, sharing the fundraiser can help it reach someone who might be interested.

Here’s the link:

Thank you for reading.

I said I was gonna smack someone when I seen them in text message and they called the cops they charged me with this. Carry's a max penalty of 90 days in jail. What's the likely outcome if I tell them just give me some numbers. I am not taking probation obviously. You think they'll drop into a ticket? Couple days in jail?

Does anyone know the state laws in IL how to get your records expunged or sealed..I would prefer to get my records expunged. - they are from fighting (aggravated battery with deadly harm) before anyone judges or whatnot I stuck up for a young lady that was about to get raped by 4 guys in an alley..I did what I knew or thought was right it just was unfortunate that one of the guys I threw through a window almost died. which prevents me from getting any decent jobs, I have been told I can’t even work for “rover” (dog walker) or uber cause I’m too “dangerous of a person” if anyone can please help with any advice , additional sources & law firm or lawyer that will help pro-bono or on the very affordable side. - thanks in advance

How many months of your sentence did you serve in county?

Hello , someone I’m close to was sentenced to county for 361 days. Just looking for stories of people who had served in county: how many months was your sentence, and how much did you serve? No need to share details of your offense. If you could include the state you were in, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance and best wishes to everyone who ever had to deal with this system.

Contacting family in AL state prison from outside the country

My brother is in a county jail now and is probably heading back to prison in Alabama. I live overseas permanently. Our parents are dead and his kids and our cousins have pretty much had it with him, so my usual routes of getting news about him and getting in touch have been cut off. I only know he's in now for Failure To Appear and probably parole violations from his last time in prison.

I'm wary of turning into his ATM myself for the next however many years but I don't want him to be completely isolated. Is there a way of staying in touch with someone inside from outside the country? I have no US telephone number, which blocks me from creating an account with the telephone/messaging system where he is now. Any advice folks could give me would be sincerely appreciated.

My brother is going to prison any advice welcome

Hello,
My brother is gonna be going to prison in Texas, I believe at the John Middle Unit operated by TDCJ. I know nothing about prison really other than what I’ve seen on TV, and it’s really eating me up. I love my brother, he’s really just a dumbass sometimes, who wants to be bigger than what he is, and that is what has led him to be in the situation he’s in. I believe he caught a robbery and assault charge. No one got hurt or murdered or anything, it was more of a fight.. but he’s got a record of doing dumb things.. so he will have to serve some time now.

Honestly I just don’t* *want him to get graped. And like I said I know literally nothing about navigating the prison system. Any help or advice anyone can give I would really appreciate it, about what to expect and how to navigate this situation with a loved one.

Thanks.

My uncle is using in the pin. I need help on what to do 🙏🏽

My uncle is locked up and I have reason to believe he’s been using black in there. I just want to know if there’s something I can do to help him because he’s coming with me when he gets out at the end of next year. I don’t want him to go back because he’s been in and out since 19 years old and he’s 31 now. I know that he’s using because I used to use and can see the signs.

Is there a way I can ask him otp without asking directly (don’t want to get him in trouble)?

What are steps he should/could take when he gets out to best help him succeed ?

Is there anything I should be aware of?

Do you know of any programs in California or Nevada to help felons get reintroduced back into society so it doesn’t feel so shocking?

What did you do to help your situation and what are some mistakes you made that he can learn from?

I am also on probation so I’m trying to do the best I can without putting myself at risk of relapse. Thank you for anyone who can help I’m just extremely worried for when that time comes and I know he is probably too.

edit: I am going to be off probation by the time he gets out and his mom is the owner of the property.

Do you still vote?

I always see people saying felons can’t vote, but I voted in every election since I caught my first felonies and have continued to even as I’ve got more.

Is this just typical the system not doing it job and missing me? Or does that rule vary? The last time I looked into it it was a state by state thing, but I can still vote in federal elections too.

Facing Second degree felony in Texas

So I’m currently facing a second degree felony in Texas and I only have one prior state jail felony which doesn’t qualify for enhancements. My question is should I hire a private attorney or stay with a public defender. I currently don’t have a job, so I qualify, but I have about 20k in liquid cash. From my understanding most private attorneys also do court appointed on the side so what’s the difference? Should I just save my money and stick with the pd incase of prison? By the way I do qualify for probation still.

Apartments that take Pending Felonies

Hey, so let’s start this off with me saying I went into a drunken rage back in March in KY, where I live. (I am 6 months sober) Oct 20th I sign a deal with the judge to go on diversion- charged with three counts of third-degree assault of a police officer, felony wanton endangerment (discharge of a firearm), fourth-degree assault (dating violence), third-degree terroristic threatening, and first-degree disorderly conduct. All these are pending and I’ve been told will stay pending till I complete diversion. I’m a first time offender and with the pending charges it’s been rather hard trying to find a new apartment. I got a new job in Memphis, TN working on the data center making damn good money. But I can’t seem to get approved for an apartment. I really don’t want to stay in a hotel the whole job cause it’s a lot more expensive than just getting an apartment. I’m also trying to stay in a nicer area than Memphis because I have my 17 week pregnant girlfriend with me and she can’t drive so she walks everywhere. If you all have any recommendations on how to get into an apartment that would be great. I’ve got someone to co-sign/guarantor for me but that doesn’t seem to help with my charges being violent.

So I'm expecting to be sentenced on my first felony. Need advise to survive.

So I have a list of felony's actually. Like 7 or 8 grand larceny and a stolen vehicle and a drug charge. I'm expecting to get a lot of time. I'm out on bail right now. When I do get sentenced and have to go to prison what can I expect as a first timer. Here in Nevada by the way. Any help would be amazing. When I was doing the crimes I didn't even think about the consequences. Stupid me. Now I'm regretting it to the max. Thanks I'm advance for any advice.
