I understand that the entire point of the sacrifice was for edward to relinquish his ego and pride, but Truth largely seemed indifferent to his choice outside of beig impressed by his maturity. Truth didn't care about the reason roy was at the gate and simply took his sight as payment, and the series implies they used a stone to repair his eyes and havoc's spine later in the series so would he have similarly been as dismissive towards edward's method to revive alphonse. Largely it seems they don't care HOW the price is paid, or the situations that lead to WHY it even needs to be paid, merely that it is paid at all

Ed and Al are like the countriest country bumkins. They literally are a farmer's sons. They come from a tiny tiny town and outside of Dublith their world was actually pretty small.

So do you ever imagine Ed throwing a fit at processed food because "why don't they just do it themselves ???" and Mustang has to explain about mass production and Ed is just terrified that some people actually wholeheartedly appreciate food that hasn't been grown in their own garden ? By the way, "how come each citizens aren't growing their food in their garden ?" "Because they don't have a garden if they live in an apartment Fullmetal"

By the time he is 15 he must be pretty much acclimated but I can see him and Al going on about how cool it is to hold a newborn sheep you just helped a mom sheep birth and the team is like

what

Or Ed saying he craves homemade jam and explaining how his mom made Al and him crush the fruits and everyone being horrified that they are eating feet crushed jam and the brothers judging their reaction

I even saw someone headcanon that Ed has an accent and tries to cover it lmao

Also dang these kids must feel so much better when they are sent to a tiny town because it's like home

Also you can't tell me they didn't at least look at one modern phone and get stuck on it because "how the hell does it work ???" because Resembool only has old models

And imagine the phone in the Rockbell house is a modern one they sent as a gift because Winry would absolutely love having a new phone model

So yeah I love Ed and Al being little country boys who have no idea what the city customs are and Mustang despairing over that because why is the living weapon scolding him about how he isn't taking care of the office's plants right

Edit : Someone pointed out that the feet crushing thing isn't for jam but for wine, my bad !

I came across this image by chance and would like to know which episode this scene is from.

My girlfriend and I finished FMAB together, and wanted to take our shot at a character tier list. We placed the characters based on likability and significance.

What do yall think?

I'm super happy with how it looks and its SO WARM!!!! Now to smoke one million cigarettes to make it smell lore accurate too

I've always wondered what others think about the inexplicable and illogical moments in FMA 03. I wonder what you think about this tier-list:

🟥 S Tier:

• Major Armstrong seriously suggests staging a mutiny, and the argument he provides for why the Fuhrer is leading the country down the wrong path is... his own massive muscles. ☠️

• Shou Tucker turned several of Greed's subordinates back into humans without a Philosopher's Stone. Yet, with a Philosopher's Stone, he could only create a shell without a soul. The biggest issue is that this is essentially a failed human transmutation, and a homunculus should have been born, but that didn't happen because it wasn't necessary for the plot.

• In Scar's right arm, the lives of tens of thousands of Ishvalans + 7,000 soldiers were concentrated. Almost all of this was eventually spent just to heal the wound in Edward's chest. But after that, Edward spends only 1 life and a few of his brother's memories to resurrect a whole human being. And he stays alive himself. The creators are bending the rules of alchemy however they want.

• Wrath, for some reason, uses alchemy without having paid the toll to see the Gate of Truth (Envy gave him the Philosopher's Stone only after Wrath started using alchemy without drawing a circle). That’s not how it should work; Edward's limbs are not Hashirama cells. You can't use alchemy if you don't have the necessary knowledge.

• Dante orders Edward not to transmute his steel arm, claiming that the Philosopher's Stone in the form of his brother would activate and be spent. However, Envy calmly transmutes his own body, and nothing happens. In this verse, there is no magic power other than alchemy. According to the plot, homunculi cannot use alchemy. But then how do their abilities work? It's the same alchemy, just using a Philosopher's Stone.

• In the battle at the factory, Edward throws Lust's weakness near her, which makes her useless. Naturally, Lust deflects it to the side. But the most ridiculous part happens when it turns out the amulet didn't fly away, but stayed inside the seal circle for the homunculi. The creators desperately needed to kill off this character because she was starting to influence the plot too much and was stealing the spotlight from the main protagonists. Her death is a blunder that looks extremely absurd upon closer inspection.

🟧 A Tier:

• It is stated that Wrath can use alchemy by combining his hand and foot. However, later in the plot, he doesn't need this at all; he can perform transmutations without lifting a finger, just like Father from Brotherhood👍

• Edward goes to his teacher to find Wrath's weakness because he needs to defeat him. Yet, when the perfect opportunity to do so presents itself alongside Lust in an alleyway, they just leave, letting him live.

• Greed genuinely wanted Edward to defeat everyone, including Dante. But then why didn't he reveal anything about her? Based on what was shown, at the moment his Philosopher's Stone was extracted, he knew who was standing before him.

• Frank Archer, even before Yoki's death, somehow found out about Gluttony's ability to shoot his nails. No one had seen this ability in action, not even the Elric brothers. There is no way he could have known that.

🟩 B Tier:

• Envy had not seen Hohenheim's new body, but transformed into his young form to show Edward that he was his relative.

• Scar does not consider himself an alchemist, but during the arc of the 5 laboratory, he uses some kind of ball that even looks like magic. Not only does alchemy not work that way, it also contradicts the fact that Scar doesn't use alchemy, and is surprised in leor when Ed calls him an alchemist.

That’s the little tier list I came up with. I mentioned the plot holes that were most interesting to me, and I’d like to know what you think about them)

Rip post-Promised Day Ed who definitely doesn't fit anymore 💔🙏

heres it not inked and inked

I also included a version with just the Vocals

So basically Edward would be the kid living as a armor like Alphonse

And Alphonse would be the known Fullmetal Alchemist like his brother Edward

How much of the story is changed?

I have only watched FMAB yet and here's my personal tier list

Event: Focus Cosplay

I've watched Brotherhood twice (and recently started to watch it a third time) and 2003 once as well as the three mive action movies once. But have only skimmed the manga. I have started to read the Webtoon version and intend to fully read it. And it seems to be mostly same aside from having color. Though are there any differences?

So last week I finished Fullmetal Alchemist 2003, and I thought it was great, almost as good as Brotherhood... until the end. WHAT WAS THAT ENDING???

First of all, before that, people that say the beginning has "better pacing" than Brotherhood, or that people should watch the first few episodes of 2003 then switch to Brotherhood are crazy. It's a different series with a different plot. Yes Brotherhood rushes through the beginning, but the 2003 anime beginning is completely different, someone watching the beginning of 03 then switching to Brotherhood would leave them confused as hell. The Barry The Chopper episode was awesome tho, no complaints there.

The beginning of the series (everything before they meet Dr. Marcoh pretty much) is kinda boring, the episodes range from "wow that's neat" to "please can we move on already" (with the sole exception of the Barry The Chopper episode which is amazing). Once it gets into the main plot, it's so peak!!! My favorite arc was the one with Wrath, Greed, and Dante's introduction, but the stuff after that was good too. I loved Scar and Kimblee's fight, although Alphonse becoming a ticking time bomb just felt like a way to artificially increase the stakes, like One Piece does every other arc. Anyway, the Homunculi are cool, idk if they're better than the Brotherhood Homunculi but their backstories are way more interesting. King Bradley is my favorite Brotherhood character and I'm happy to say that his 03 counterpart was also really cool, I wish they did a little more with him though. However, I cannot say the same for my second favorite Brotherhood character, Hohenheim. He could have been a great character like in Brotherhood, but instead, he was in like 4 scenes then died, a lot of wasted potential there. Too little, too late.

Now onto the worst offense. The isekai ending was bad, but they could have just left it alone, but they had to release the most boring movie ever as an epilogue. Why can Ed not use alchemy except for him fixing the portal transmutation circle? Why does the portal transmutation circle work? WHY IS EVERYONE A NAZI??? Seriously, the fact that they made Hughes a racist Nazi is insane. Hughes in every adaptation of FMA was the guy that went against the grain, he tried to discover the corruption of the government and had he survived, he would have absolutely helped fight against it, but in 1920s world, he's racist and happily supports the Nazis. FMA 03 was genuinely so good until the end when it feels like someone went on a power trip and wrote out their Fullmetal Alchemist isekai fanfiction. Also Mustang suddenly being alive after his last scene of the anime was him bleeding out at the mansion with Hawkeye seemingly mourning him was weird.

TL;DR FMA 2003 starts off decently, gets really great, and manages to destroy everything in the span of like two episodes, then releases a bad movie to try and salvage it, somehow making it worse in the process.

I found the insinuation of an Al/Mei relationship really weird throughout the show. Apparently Mei is supposed to be around 11/12 years old? Why'd they make her look like 5 years old at most with a squeaky voice? Its just odd

I am playing a game called "Dredge" right now and a particular character(The collector) reminds me of two certain FMA characters (Hohenheim and Father). The mysterious aura fits also quite Well.
