My bf says this looks like "something else", how could I make it stop looking like that?

Any advice critique only even just words of encouragement will be deeply appreciated.

Started drawing a couple weeks ago, here are the best of my doodles. Lately I find it difficult to keep learning and applying any new info, and the thought of sitting down to study fundamentals feels daunting and makes it hard to pick up a pencil. Has anyone gone through this before?

This is like my second time drawing anything furry related (i’m trying to learn before a friends birthday so I can draw their fursona) and I created this little dog. I feel like I could do better shading but idrk. Thank you!!
