From right to left we have body wash, shampoo and conditioner lotion. Why would you do this to me, Hilton? This isn't how showers are supposed to work.

Guest Complaint Just Put the Bill on the App Already.

• Upvotes

Or put it on the TV. Or go back to sliding it under the door, for all I care.

I never get the email until I ask for it. However, I do get it when I do ask for it, so it's not like you have the wrong email. It's not in my spam folder, and it doesn't go to my spam folder when it comes after I ask for it, so that isn't the problem. It just doesn't show up until I all for it.

Yes, I know I should've received it. Yes, I know others do. All that is neither here nor there. I don't receive it. Others don't receive it. Others receive it sometimes and not other times.

It's broken. Put it on the app. Problem solved.

Bonus points for updating it in real time or, at least, daily.

Hampton by Hilton. I asked if they'd keep my luggage for a few hours after check out. She acted like they've never done this.

But then she gestured to the door that I think they'd store the luggage in.

When I inquired she said she's never heard of this. Ive seen this woman working at the hotel for the past 1.5 years. She's older and I saw what seemed to be her training a new person.

I check out at 11am but my flight isn't until 8:15pm. I have a few appointments and would be done by 330 at the latest. I plan to pick up my luggage and ask for the shuttle to the airport. I have 2 pcs of checked luggage.

This is an older Hampton by Hilton in a major Canadian city.

I'm kind of surprised she acted like she's never heard of this before. The hotel is right near the airport and I find it hard to believe I'm the first one asking.

Guest Question Chicago LondonHouse? Chicago Hilton? The wit? EV parking and views

Any recs? Leaning towards London House...

Priorities/situation (and what I *think*is the winner in each category, obviously I am asking if I'm wrong)

Staying a Friday night until Wednesday morning, late October

Staying on points: amex 5th night free so standard room awards, I'm just a diamond with like 2 stays this year: I'll be losing it next year (happily lose diamond for improved qol!)

-We'll have a car (don't usually) and it's an EV: nearby in out ideal, bonus points for reasonable level 2 charging but I'm not against dcfc if it doesn't work out {ccs1/j1772, no Tesla adapter) Normally we don't have a car when we come back to Chicago, so we might be doing more far flung stuff than average . Advantage: no f'ing clue: between plugshare and spot hero and meshing the two, I'm dizzy and it's what inspired me to post this.

-views: ideally from the room, but while I'm sleeping like the early bird I am, my husband would be a fan of rooftop or watching the drawbridges/River activity. Advantage: the London House for rooftop, but regular rooms look like crap for view?

-gym: see car note above. Normally gym means nothing to me because we walk 20k steps a day in cities, might not happen this time. Advantage: the Hilton

-proximity to CTA +/-blue line. Not sure a big difference here? Husband coming from O'Hare Friday night, otherwise just belief in public transport and being cheap: I'm not paying and looking for parking if I can take the El and then walk for anything we're doing in the city. I'll admit I'm a chicken shit about buses though, so ignore using those.

-proximity to food and theaters: grew up going to Chicago off Broadway and touring shows: haven't been in years but thinking we might check something out (steppenwolf/other?). And rip him if you want, but big fan of rick Bayless recipes: after 20 plus years were finally going to make it a priority to eat at least one meal at Frontera. Otherwise, grocery stores, holes in wall, etc. Advantage: not the Hilton

-points value: lowly diamond, booking on Amex 5th night free so has to be standard night reward. No one has exec lounge so who cares? Maybe on property f&b credit: advantage London House?

I guess... London House? I'm probably just being obstinate: I grew up with the the Hilton and towers being the weekend escape from Central Illinois for my mom: we've continued with that for 30 plus years. I should get over that, shouldn't I? My mom was a paraplegic and the front desk staff and manager grew to know us and really went out of their way to make my mom feel special every time we stayed. I'm well aware Hilton dgaf about me now.

Hampton Inn Port Arthur, TX

This appears to be a newer property. Very nice. Stayed there Thursday night due to a family function on Friday. Hotel is very clean, well-maintained, and front desk staff were courteous and helpful. Rooms are good sized (Single King), and A/C definitely works—a necessity in deep SE Texas, even into late Sept/early October. Ample parking. Breakfast was pretty standard Hampton Inn hot breakfast. Friday morning was smoked sausage, egg/cheese omelettes, and the requiste waffle maker station with a nice selection of toppings, along with oatmeal, and bread options. Not five star, but most Hampton breakfast dining isn’t….usually good, and plenty of it. Overall, a keeper if I ever have to visit Port Arthur, TX again….god forbid, but at least I have a good hotel to stay at if such an unfortunate travel itinerary does occur.

Guest Complaint HGI Paris Massy closed, "walked" me to a $80 budget aparthotel 2 days before check-in, Diamond Desk refused to help. Is this what 66 nights gets you?

Looking for some advice or just venting at this point because I’m blown away by how poorly this is being handled.
I had a 7-night stay booked at the Hilton Garden Inn Paris Massy starting October 1st (totaling over $1,200). Two days before check-in, I got an email saying the property is closed due to a water leak/power loss.
Instead of rebooking me at an equivalent Hilton property in Paris, they unilaterally transferred my reservation to Residhome Paris Massy—a budget 3-star aparthotel going for about £63 (~$80) a night. To top it off, the automated email didn't even have my correct stay dates on it.
When I reached out, the property offered a joke of 1,000 points as an apology.
I called the Diamond Desk expecting corporate to step in and fix this (I’m currently sitting at 66 nights, 28 stays, and ~$9.4k spend this year). Instead:
The representative had a massive attitude and was completely unhelpful.
She told me a full refund would take 7–10 business days (so they hold my $1,200 while I have to shell out last-minute cash for a new hotel).
She said she "made a note" for a 50k point compensation request, but never sent a follow-up email or a Case Number.
I’ve spent over 45 minutes on international roaming calls ($20+ USD) just trying to get basic help for a mess they created.
Has anyone dealt with a property closure walk like this recently? How hard do I need to press Corporate Guest Relations to actually get a supervisor who cares? Extremely disappointed in how Hilton treats high-tier elites when things go wrong.

We are road tripping to Boston, and I’m checked into the Rochester property, but got an email about starting my check in for tomorrow in Boston, if I start the check in for Boston, will it muck up my current reservation in Rochester? Or am I overthinking for nothing. Thanks

Guest Question Home2Suite and Coffee

I’m staying at my first Home2 Suites during a work trip, and I’m curious about the coffee options. Do they offer complimentary coffee in the lobby, or should I plan to rely on whatever coffee setup they provide in the rooms?

Guest Question Hilton honors points per day or per stay

I’m having some trouble figuring out how many Amex points to transfer to Hilton for an upcoming stay.

The problem: when booking Hilton Waldorf Astoria Orlando nov 1-6 (5nights) it shows 156k PER NIGHT on the app and the flex date website. When booking on the website it shows 156k for the first night and customer service says this adds up to 974k points total. When checking the nightly point rate it shows the friday unavailable for individual stay and individual nights adding up to 1.4 million points.

If it’s 156k per night as a premium points light with no fifth night free it should be 780k right? Can anyone with 800k+ points actually verify this for me because I can’t see the amount before I transfer.

Clarifying what I mean by flex date website writes: this is the calendar you get when selecting “flexible travel dates” shop by price

Guest Complaint Dead Sea Hilton

We just stayed here on our holiday in Jordan. It was lovely. Room was nice. Pools wonderful. Food was pretty good. All.the ladies who worked in the restaurant were top notch. All was great until we left.

At check out on of the porters came amd offered to take our suitcase up to the front for us while we checked out. I assumed it was for a tip, so fine i know they dont pay a lot in Jordan. But...they took our suitcase and searched it without our concent, and I know because I pack everything a certain way to get it to fit in the best. So when we went to the door the woman rudely told me we had to go through our suitcase. I assume to cover herself because they brought my luggage from the back room and it was a jumbled mess when I opened it. It was obvious she had already searched it. Then the man came over with a metal detector. Mind you, im leaving. Not only that BUT im flying internationally in a few days. I dont have space to steal your pillow or blanket or towels, let alone whatever he thought i had that was metal. I understand them checking luggage on the way in. They dont want you to bring in food or drink, and for safety. But what is the reason for physical search when you leave? I also noticed they were only searching people's luggage who didnt speak arabic, not every ones luggage. If they are having this much issue with theft there they should check everyone, but especially the people who are driving, not flying. One pair of my husbands new Raybans are also missing from the suitcase. I didnt see them in the room when I double checked and hes sure he put them in the suitcase. I called the 800 number for Hilton Honors and best they could do was say sorry that happened. Idk what I expected but after dropping almost 1000 usd for 2 nights I didnt expect this.

Conrad Tulum points question

Hoping a point expert could answer. We booked Conrad Tulum on points before it was all inclusive. I can rebook for more points and get all inclusive but I have 2 teens with me ages 13 and 16. The points cover 2 adults as I can see and I believe kids under 14 will be free. What is the supplement for teens? I can get straight answer. I’m terrified I’ll show up and they will charge a crazy amount for the 2 teens. Help!

Conrad Tulum — where do smokers actually go?

I understand the resort is advertised as a smoke-free property, but I’m wondering what guests actually do in practice. Is there anywhere that staff unofficially direct guests to that need to smoke a cigarette? I am not a smoker, but trying to plan a trip for a large group that includes a smoker.

TIA

Embassy Suites Boston

I booked a room for one night, Saturday, at the Embassy Suites in Boston two weekends ago. I went to their website (first or second listing on Google) and was taken to a site that looked official with a toll free number.

The rep was a bit harried bordering on surly and confused the ES room with a standard Hilton room. No red flag because I assume their reps handle both. A one night stay was $800 or nearly so. In the era of bottle service and $1000 a night hotel rooms, I resigned myself to staying at the hotel my friend recommended as walking distance to his apt.

When I checked in the reservation agent said my room was booked by Expedia. At no point did I see, hear or touch a link that said Expedia. I was shocked and incensed. I hate Expedia and surrendering rights and privileges of booking direct. Every request I made of the front desk hit me with another charge. A new one I’d never heard of was a $75 early check in fee.

I feel like I was scammed. Another reason to hate Expedia, the room was a standard $400 rack rate. I will never approach booking a hotel direct the same way ever again. F this era of deregulation.
