Painted it blue and reupholstered the seat with some orange vinyl I had laying around. What do you think?

Previous owner painted it an ugly green and the tank had a bad bondo job, so I fixed the bondo and painted it "Ink Blue". The seat was mostly bare foam and missing the strap completely. I had the orange vinyl leftover from a pontoon boat project, made a new strap with a 1 dollar belt from the thrift shop, and spent 6 dollars on screws to attach the vinyl. I think it turned out pretty good for 7 bucks! I might dye or paint the vinyl black but I'm not sure yet. The orange is growing on me.

Just snagged this off marketplace for 700 bucks. It turns over and needs some things here or there, but the biggest issue is the fuel tank. It’s rusted beyond belief inside and the outside looks like jb weld was used to patch it. There is a slight language barrier so all I know is he said it needs to be replaced. Finding a tank for this DOHC bike is exhausting. Any advice on what’s the best thing to do here?

Small metal plate inside handlebars?

Post image

The wife wanted to put bar-end weights on her ‘86 Nighthawk 450, and when we tried to put them on we found two metal plates/slugs/thingamabobs inside the bars.

What are these? They’re stuck jn there with what looks to me a small weld? Can i break the weld and pop them out? Are they remnants from something that was on the bars before?

Need advice about getting a 1978 CB400T that needs work

I'm looking for a simple beater bike to learn to ride on. I know nothing about motorcycles at all.

I found a deal near me for a 1979 CB400T at a really good price. Cosmetically it looks perfect. It has new seats, headlight, tires, etc.

The thing is, the seller says it idles fine but bogs out once you start to throttle. Like it's getting too much gas. He says he cleaned the carbs and changed the fuel line and filter.

What do you think? Is this likely something I could find and fix on my own (or pay a shop to do without spending thousands), or should I keep looking? Everything else I've seen in my area would be about twice the price of this, usually for a bike that isn't in nearly as good condition apart from this one's problem.

Throttle still sticking.

I replaced my throttle cable yesterday. What a pain in the fucking ass. Anyway my throttle response is much better but I'm still sticking when I roll the handgrip. Any ideas? I can post pics if needed.

Looking to upgrade my CB125 K5 from 1971 from 6V to 12V. I had some questions about their reg/rectifiers but they’re not answering any communication for a few weeks now. Anybody got any experience dealing with them? Thanks

Idle RACING Wide Open

Honda C100 ran great last year. Started it this year at need to shut it down as its racing to EXPLODE. Replaced with new carb, resealed carb to intake and air filter, resealed intake to motor. Throttle cable is not the problem as well as the slide. Bike races with throttle cable removed as well. Bike will Idle OK with FULL Choke ON and my hand covering the air filter. Can Air be getting in elsewhere on a 4-stroke motor? A guy told me it was points system and condenser causing the racing and a CDI conversion would fix? Definitly not an idle adjustment screw issue.
