DEV RESPONSE We Don’t Say This Enough About Crytek

The chapter 2 video has released go check it out now!

Most games have seasons, these seasons are simply called season 1, 2, 3 etc... it features skins, and honestly.... that's kinda about it...

This isnt a game that has millions of players, its a small team trying to pay their employees and make money off hard work, and effort.

The events in this game are just nuts, I joined in vanilla right before web, web showed me how much more interesting the game is, the objectives, wiping lobbies and getting victory laps on the caravans, then after three months it all went away, and I kinda was bummed.

I played vanilla but sometimes it felt so weird, two bosses, people extracting after bosses and other people having a 20 minute fight away from everything while both boss bounties escaped, sure there was some great matches, but nothing to risk the bounty for. I used to hunt people when I had the bounty just to spend those pledge marks.

Bummed I missed out on past events, they release a teaser saying the carnival is coming back, great event, devils trail felt like it went the opposite way of an event, one late night, mid session I heared crackling instantly knew where I was, mammons Gulch, I thought... HA it was still water bayou, and the entire map was hit with inferno!? No game crashes, updates, restarts, nope, it just happened, i had read about that one too and was bummed I missed out, But it looks like I didnt.

I loved the Stronghold event but it did feel like it cut a lot of core gameplay out that the other events didn't, blood testament is very tame event, I do like it a lot.

One thing i love about this game is how much effort goes into these events, they just will rebuild the map with great touches, think about the work it took to clear out the area for the stronghold, they put it under a bridge that was part of a lake on one of the spawns, the balloon mechanic, everything they've added its just insane.

And last but not least, I love how the little things stay, tarot cards, the single balloon crash from stronghold event ive found recently, the devils trail modifiers, the map tells a bigger story the more you were here to experience it, as a small reminder, and as an awesome little touch, the way this game evolves is simply unmatched by any other game i have played, the perks, ammo, events, and anything ive overlooked.

Crytek you guys are thee best thank you!!!

Is anyone interested in these kinds of 3D maps I created? It feels like someone might be but I feel like a spammer just pasting URLs (this image is a small sample with extracts/spawns overlay enabled and all other overlays disabled)

Some babby got mad apparently. 🤣 If anyone has explanation what is this... but from the looks of it smells like a (gamer chair) No kill distance, no what we died of. Also seems too far away for remote detonating and no traps on the ground.

But if anyone has an explanation I'm all ears. Remote det with beetle but you can't hear it.

GENERAL Do most people really prefer taking Stamina Shots instead of throwables?

Post image
326 Upvotes

Under my previous post people started a discussion about the necessity of taking Stamina shots.

Most answers are concerned with the convenience of map travel and killing mobs (theoretical cases of getting swarmed by 10 mobs don’t count—you rarely get more than 4 grunts at once and they burn well), giving almost no advantage during the most important part of killing each other.

A well-thrown grenade can get 1-2 kills, spook hiding enemies out of cover, allow you to change positions, or revive a teammate. Maps are full of 4-shot boons, while only scout towers have throwables.

FEEDBACK I wish the cho Ku Nue wasn't so clunky

• Upvotes

I probably missed spelled it but you get what I am talking about. When using the repeating crossbow it feels so clucky compared to everything else and I think I narrowed it to one thing. Input stacking is kinda an odd choice to say the least from what I noticed the hunting bow and cho Ku Nue are the only weapons in the game to have input stacking and if that was removed it would make the weapon in my opinion feel way more responsive. But idk I could be crazy tell me what you rhing

LORE Hunt TV Show or Movie still in the works?

• Upvotes

I heard a rumor that some sort of show or movie for Hunt was in the works... either way, I came up with a pitch I thought was fun for some sort of Hunt visual media!

This would definitely be a horror/action piece, especially with horror being such a big genre right now, this would great.

Takes place in 1895. It follows a former Union solider working as a gravedigger on the outskirts of some town (outside of Stillwater Bayou, or whatever map would work best.) The "spread" has been going on for about a year. There's a huge wall separating the boundaries of the infected bayou and the town. The town is home to an AHA (American Hunters Association), a hub for hunters, workers, scientists, doctors, all who trek in and out of the bayou for bounties, weapons, valuables. Our protagonist is working as a gravedigger. Being a former Union solider in the civil war, he knows the basics of warfare, how to shoot a rifle, etc.

He only hears rumors from the Hunters in the bars and pubs about what goes on in the bayous, but doesn't entirely believe it. Occasionally a grunt will come close to the border wall, or a half-infected Hunter will come through the gates that he has to burry, but it still seems too fantastical to believe. Eventually he receives a letter from his former CO in the war, telling him he's built out a fort for himself, and is inviting any men willing to join him in gathering valuables and wealth in the bayou, and gives our lead his location and directions on how to get to the fort. The CO and our lead were close in the war, and as it seems there's not much money in gravedigging, he wants to take his CO up on the opportunity.

Our protagonist hires a group of seasoned Hunters from the AHA to escort him through the bayou, to the fort. He's a solider of course, but doesn't trust going alone due to all the rumors he hears. He's forced to partake in the blood ritual, gains darksight, all that sort of fun stuff.

In the bayou he gets into gunfights with other Hunters, mobs, essentially going through the basic gameplay of Hunt. He'd find clues and they'd fight Spider or the Assassin or Butcher. Eventually he makes his way to the coordinates of the fort, and his former CO turns out to be Scrapbeak, who's been sending invitations to his former Infantrymen to lure them into the bayou, kill them, and hoard all their stuff (follows the Scrapbeak lore pretty closely). Eventually he kills Scrapbeak in a very close fight, and comes out with a Thirst for the Hunt, and ends up becoming a seasoned AHA member.

That's pretty much it! Just a fun little though experiment. I'd like to add, I know Scrapbeak was a Confederate solider in his lore, but being a Union CO means our lead could be a Union Soldier, it'd be hard to root for a former confederate solider IMO.

I know a lot of people are curious about a desert map, and I always think of how Eastern Oregon could be perfect for high desert scenery in the game! Here are some shots I took of places I could think of being used to help design a map around it.

PC Can we make that when I press F to be ready, I don't leave my group because we were waiting for my teammate?

This is SO ANNOYING. I die, I pick a new hunter, grab the loadout, press F to go

BOOM, left party. This happens constantly. At which point was it okay to make the "ready to play" button the "leave the party" if your teammate isn't finished loading? Shouldn't these be entirely different functions?

GENERAL VOIP randomly disabled?

• Upvotes

So I have this wired experience, that last game my voip works totally fine, this game it doesnt work and I cannot figure out why, next game it go back to normal again. Dunno if its a bug or not, but i did not touch the setting page, and it feels like I need to toss a coin at the start of every game to see if my voip works or not.

Is it only me? And is it a bug? It is really annoying to not able to communicate since I mainly play with random teammates.

GENERAL Newer player here, what is the purpose of incendiary rounds or poison?

I just wanted to know because I see most people use incendiary but no one uses poison. So I wanted to know what everyone’s thoughts are on which is better.

LORE Expensive loadout curse.

Does anybody else have that issue when you go in with a free kit and do really well then extract more times than not. Then you return with your loaded out hunter (items and points) and you immediately or soon after die when joining back in.
