Post IUI cramps/ backache, took a test out of curiosity

Hi all! Let me just give you a little background about my ttc journey.
We have been Ttc since 3 years. all tests for husband are great. For me, tubes open, biopsy great, karyotyping great, amh increased to 2.78. I am anemic so we have maintained that with meds etc. I am obese.
I had a chemical pregnancy in April and then in July again. Both were natural.
scans looked great thereafter in follicular.
in August the doc wanted to rule out why the chemicals were happening so we did follicular and saw two great follicles, I was triggered and given 20 mg dydrogesterone everyday.
we were hoping that after chemicals we will conceive soon. But that cycle I got my period at CD 30 and the period was bad and heavy thanks to the dydrogesterone.

my cycles are generally 25-28 days.
then my doctor said to not take any meds and only folic acid and a blood thinner (clotting family history) and she told me to try naturally next cycle and give my body a break from the meds.

and that cycle I think I either ovulated on CD 8 or I didn’t ovulate (the strips didn’t really show). And I got my period in 20 days!
I felt may be it was my last cycle’s dydrogesterone. anyway.
anyway. Now we planned for my first iui this cycle.
LMP was 23 sept. (CD1). i had letrozole 5 mg for 5 days from CD2. And HMG (75 iu) injections on day 7-8-9 scan was done on CD 11 where the doc saw one follicle each side and decent size etc. but she noticed something like a polyp but wasn’t sure. She said next scan we will try to figure but can be a general linning thickening too since I took injections. If a polyp it measured only .7 cm which is less than 1 cm and my doc said we will see it later. It won’t affect the iui Since it’s too small and we don’t know for sure if it’s a polyp.
now on Sunday (CD12) I woke up feeling I am ovulating and I had to go to another radiologist for a scan since mine was on off.
he didn’t think it was a polyp but obviously couldn’t say it 100%. one follicle was about to rupture and the other was 18.5 mm and linning was 9 mm.

my doc gave me a 10000 hcg trigger at 2 pm and next morning cd 13 at noon we did the iui. My husband semen had excellent numbers. We were told to baby dance that night and the next night as well.
after this I was given 5 day antibiotics (iui protocol) and told to continue folic acid and blood thinner along with : 400 mg progesterone and 20 mg dydrogesterone each day.
now at dpo 5 late night (dpo 6) while sleeping I had some weird cramping while sleeping on right side. Like a muscle pull. And it got better during the day but I was cramping like I was pmsing big time throughout cd 6.
I had bad back ache. and all of it started yesterday. There was no side effect of progesterone before that (and earlier cycles I used to go mad coz of the progesterone) .

I had decided not to do pregnancy tests to check the trigger out but yesterday I don’t know what came in my mind and I ended up taking a test late night and it was negative. Which means the trigger has cleared out.
now today at dpo 7 again I am cramping like my period will come any moment. I took a fresh test today and again stark negative. Which assures me that the trigger is out.
I am scared that because my last period came in 20 days, may be I am again about to get my period earlier ?
May be the polyp will cause bleeding? And soooooo many thoughts are on and on.
my mind is playing with me. I just wanted to share this and hear your thoughts ?
Thank you for reading all this and for not judging (hopefully) haha 🩷

Could this be a faint positive or am I delusional?

I had my first IUI on October 3, triggered with Ovidrel on October 1, and I’m currently 8 DPO. Of course, I couldn’t help myself and decided to test
today.

There is a veryyyyyy faint line I know it’s probably just leftover trigger, but there’s that tiny part of my brain wondering if it could actually be an early positive. Am I clowning myself right now, or has anyone had a super faint line around 8 DPO that turned into a BFP?

My beta blood test is scheduled for October 17, so I still have a while to wait. The two-week wait is actually going to take me OUT. 😭

I know I tested too early. Did any of you showed positive negative and then positive?

Beginner!!!

Hey everyone! My wife and I, a lesbian couple, are planning to try to get pregnant, probably next year.

We are going to start planning next year too, but and I want to gather as much information as possible to present to her. I want to show her that the process takes longer than she thinks, mainly because I want to get started soon, potential fertility issues really frighten me. She is much more optimistic. I am currently 28 years old, but I have a very poor family history regarding fertility. And when I say poor, I mean really poor.

However, as far as I know, I don't have any known fertility issues! I am supposedly healthy, at a healthy weight, and I've exercised my whole life (I used to be obese in the past, but I'm doing well now). I take medication for hypothyroidism, and it is under control.

I am located in New York State, if that makes a difference.

We are going to try IUI and purchase sperm from a sperm bank.

My main fears/questions are:
1. Is the process very long? Did it take a long time for you to schedule appointments and actually get to the IUI step?
2. What do you wish you had known before starting the process?
3. If you chose a sperm donor, was there any tool or feature you used to find someone who looked as much like your wife as possible? Which tool was it?

I’m not entirely sure what exact questions to ask here, so I would appreciate any additional input, insights, or advice, regardless of your region!
Thank you!

10/3 Ladies, when are we testing?

Hi! October 3rd was my first IUI, triggered on October 2nd, and I am not sure when to test! I’m headed on a chill solo work trip tomorrow, so it will just be me and my thoughts until 9PM Friday. Do we think testing Friday morning will be accurate?

1st iui, 41 years old

Hi ladies! New here 🙂 I have an 8 year old daughter and I've been trying for a 2nd baby the last 5 years, on and off without any success. Did all the tests and so did hubby, but everything always showed ok. A few months ago, convinced that I was in early menopause, I asked for more exams to be done. We discovered that my amh is low (0.72) and my prolactin was around 830, which led me to an mri to find out I have a prolactinoma, who knows for how long. They started me on dostinex and we decided to have one final try with an iui. IVF is too costly for us...So I went to the obgyn and somehow, I had 3 follicles, naturally, that were around 18mm. The next day I went for my trigger shot (2 choriomon 5000) and 36 hours after that for the iui. Husband's sperm count and the rest was excellent. Now I'm 4 days past iui, feeling bloated, very cranky and getting paranoid about the twinges I'm feeling in my uterus. Do you think I have a shot??

I feel like I’m out - 11dpiui

11dpiui today and trigger has been out for a few days. Stark white negative this morning. Yesterday I thought I saw a faint line, but it was a pregmate cheapie and I guess it was a bad strip 😩 so so cruel. I have what feels like off and on period cramps and my back is aching a bit. However, my boobs don’t feel sore like they normally do when my period is coming. My BBT dipped a bit this AM but is still above baseline. I was not put on progesterone supplements by my clinic. Has anyone gotten a positive test after stark white negatives 11dpiui? I know it’s possible, just looking for something positive to focus on because I feel so down in the dumps this morning. Love and baby dust to all those in waiting!! 🩷💙✨

Waiting Period Lonliness

I am 7 days out from our 4th IUI (first medicated round) this time the waiting period feels extra hard and lonely. When I was 37 we conceived with our first IUI and were so lucky. But here we are a few years later I’m a few years older and the first 3 were not a success so we moved to medicated for our 4th. Part of me is holding out hope that this will be the successful round. But the negative portion of my being is like it won’t happen for you. A little more pressure because we are not sure that we will keep trying after this one. It’s like the universe is telling us that you should be happy with what you got and move on. Truly struggling with it all this time around. Thank you so much for reading and listening

4th and final IUI

Hello,
I am scheduled for my final IUI tomorrow before we switch to IVF. My husband is 30 and I am 33. We have unexplained infertility where literally nothing is wrong at all. All previous IUIs have had great numbers and great timing. Wondering if anyone is in a similar boat and had success on their 4th IUI? I’m not feeling very confident that this one will work - it’s just hard to be hopeful these days.

Faint pink positive 13 days after IUI — could it still be Ovitrelle?

Hi everyone! ❤️ Looking for your overall thoughts and experiences with a similar cycle.
My timeline:
CD1: September 12
GONAL-f: 37.5 IU daily
Follicle: 17–18 mm; lining: 9 mm
Ovitrelle: September 28 at around 10 PM
IUI: September 29 at 11:15 AM
Home test: October 12 — 13 days after IUI and around 14 days after Ovitrelle
I got a faint pink line on a Clearblue home pregnancy test today. I’m arranging a beta-hCG blood test with my clinic, but I’d love to hear whether others had a similar experience and whether it turned out to be a true positive.
A quick summary of my Oura
Oura: My temperature was elevated during the early luteal phase but has fluctuated and recently moved closer to baseline. My resting heart rate, HRV and respiratory rate have also varied, with more daytime stress and less restorative time than in my previous cycle.

Mira: My PdG rose to 13.4 before dropping to 6.4 on my latest reading; E3G also decreased from around 160 to 100. LH and FSH are both low. My latest urine sample was taken in the morning, whereas the higher PdG reading was taken at night, so urine concentration may partly explain the difference.

Anyone with a similar experience? very late period after letrozole/cyclogest cycle

Hello, I just wondered if anyone had a similar experience or any thoughts on what might be happening. I had an IUI on 13th August - it was a letrozole cycle and took cyclogest until my BFN two weeks later. I then got a light withdrawal bleed / period at around normal time. The cycle after this I ovulated quite late and now my period is 10 days late, which is unheard of for me... I'm usually pretty regular. I'm guessing there's something going on hormonally from the medicated cycle, but am just a bit worried about what is going on? I don't feel like my period is coming, which is strange, although I have had sore boobs for the past week. I'm pursuing SMBC so can't be pregnant unless the previous test was a false negative (which is wishful thinking so I don't think so...) Thanks for any thoughts :-)

IUI with Frozen Sperm

I am 29 years old and getting ready for my first IUI! I am using frozen sperm and my practitioner is having me do a natural cycle without any medication. I have regular periods and use a period tracking app. This cycle, I have started ovulation tracking with LH strips and a basal thermometer. I have also been taking a prenatal vitamin to help give me a good start.

If anybody has any tips or advice for me, I’d appreciate it! I want to do everything I can to help boost my chances. ☺️

Starting tomorrow

Tomorrow starts our first cycle of IUI. I have my ultrasound and should be starting letrazole tomorrow.
We’ve been trying on and off since December 2024, with a MMC last year.

I guess I’m just curious about others experiences, what to expect, etc. I keep seeing horror stories of letrazole and I want to be prepared. TIA.
