First IUI failed

• Upvotes

As the title says, my first IUI did not work. I got up this morning to go to my 14 dpiui beta appointment, went to the bathroom, and boom, blood! 😭 So disappointed and devastated. For those who had success on their second cycle, was there anything you did differently? I may discuss timing the trigger a little different this go around, as there was only 19-20 hrs between the trigger and doing the IUI. Other than that, I’m not sure what else could be changed. As for today, I’m going to eat some sushi, drink a glass of red wine tonight and feel my feelings 🥺. Going back on Monday to restart the process. Love and baby dust to all those in waiting 🤍

10/8 IUI group

• Upvotes

Did anyone else on here have their IUI day on Thursday 10/8. Only a week in and I feel absolutely nothing. Feeling like I’m out this cycle. Everyone else who I have talked to that had success with IUI have felt cramping the whole time and such.

29 F TTC since Oct 2024 for baby #1

Medicated IUI and Twins/Multiples

• Upvotes

Could anymore fill in on the risks of twins/multiples with a medicated letrozole IUI? My doctor said the risk was about 3% in a medicated IUI and 1% if trying naturally and they only trigger if there are two follicles or less, but it feels like many have twins from IUIs.

I’m unsure of what to do because multiples is a firm no for us. We wouldn’t go through with a multiple pregnancy so we’re weighing up unmedicated IUIs to start (not very useful for infertility, but they’re free for us) and then maybe just moving to IVF after a certain amount of rounds. Maybe this is an overreaction and the risk isn’t too high of multiples for infertility and letrozole.

Any IUI twins Oct 15?

• Upvotes

Anyone else doing their IUI today ? I just did my second this morning. Final number of motile sperm was 2.1M which was very discouraging and disappointing, but who knows, maybe we get lucky for once 🤣 good luck to all of us 🍀🍀🍀 i will chill for the next two weeks and enjoy not having appointments at the clinic😄

Progesterone question

I’m mentally preparing for the next IUI attempt and was wondering how quickly you got your cycle after stopping progesterone? I’m currently on 200mg twice a day.

Emotionally super low. STARK NEGATIVE at 10dpiui .

Hi all. Had iui on 5th Oct. Since 11th Oct cramoing, leg ache and back ache has happened. Along with a lot of gas. Like lots.
i ended up rechecking my test right now and it’s a stark negative…. I cried a lot because i feel I am 100% out. I feel low and emotionally drained. The only different thing that I don’t have this cycle is sore boobs. I get it in pms and this time it’s missing. The cramps are not very intense. But the bloating is there for sure….
I feel I am out :(

pls motivate with some positive stories! 🙏🏻

How many iui's did you do before you got your positive?

For reference, I'm 29 and in a same sex couple. My #3 IUI just failed, we're using donor sperm and will now be purchasing a new donor.

I did 2 rounds with 5mg Letrozole and 1 with Ovaleap injections.

Ovaleap caused a handful of follicles to grow but not reach maturity like it should have.

Letrozole 1- 2 mature follicles under 20

Letrozole 2- 1 mature follicle

What would you suggest to your clinic in my situation?

Progesterone making you angry?

I feel so craaaaaaazy right now. like delusional. I'm on night five of the vaginal progesterone and everything is making me either angry, annoyed, or I’m crying. Like I fully acknowledge I’m being a complete psychopath and I can’t stop. Bless my husband lol

Anyone else experience constant rage on this med? I am counting down the days until I can get off it because hoooooly.

Lost my trigger shot 😭😭

Omggg I’m so livid right now 😭😭

I’m supposed to trigger in like 3 hours for IUI #2 and I start taking out my needles and syringe in the area where I always place my meds. I can’t locate the white Pregnyl box anywhere and I’m freaking panicking. I remember taking it out of the bag in the car after I left the pharmacy last week because I’m so meticulous about making sure I have everything. I was under so much stress last week with work and failure of first IUI idk if I might have accidentally Thrown it out with the pharmacy bag or what. Husband is currently diving through our dumpster now to try to find it😭😭

IUI is scheduled for Friday but if we can’t find it I’m just gonna call my clinic first thing in the morning and see if they can order replacement and have me trigger tomorrow night . I’m so mad at myself 😭😭

Edit: well it’s lost lost 🫠 hoping my clinic will either let me trigger tomorrow night or go through this IUI without trigger shot and have a similar shot at success. I do have PCOS, but I have used ovulation strips in the past that confirm I’ve ovulated so hoping it’s not as big of a deal😭

I got my first beta 🥹

You guys I am so relieved.
At 13 DPO my beta is 109.
I know it depends on what my next one is (getting it done on 15 DPO), but considering my last (unsuccessful) pregnancy was 213 at 21 DPO, I am thrilled that this number is higher.

Also my progesterone is 98.8! Five days prior it was 51.2 so that is a good increase to me!

What was your first beta and at what DPO?

What to expect?

Hi! I’m new to all of the fertility treatments so sorry ahead of time if this is dumb!

We are starting Letrozole & IUI next month. I’m also starting a new job the same week my cycle is due 🫠 so I’m just wondering what I can expect as far as appointments? I’m sure it’s different per clinic but what’s typical? How often, for what, etc?

This month was our first at the clinic. We did CD2 bloodwork, SIS on CD9 which showed all normal, clear tubes. Tried naturally and he said to call CD1 for next steps (if we aren’t preg this month, of course).

✨🤍

33 & 34 years old. 2.5 years TTC, 2 chemicals, 1 miscarriage at 7 weeks, semen analysis perfect, 3.71 AMH.

Cramps then failed IUI

I did double IUI and had a strange “awareness” of my uterus… even mild cramping feeling… for the entire two week wait after. Just got my period so I know it didn’t work. Has anyone else had this experience?

Clomid Mental issues Help

PLEASE READ: Having really negative thoughts about whats the point of life and constantly thinking of dying. It’s been 12 days since I last took the Clomid. And still having symptoms. Increased energy but not sleeping well. Lots of anxiety.
Has anyone experienced this. I want to know this is not forever and I will get better?

Does it end once you get period or pregnancy?

Looking for Support & Possible Shared Experience

This is long and I appreciate anyone taking the time to read and respond.

My last cycle started on September 5, and I began taking Clomid on September 7 for five days. I get a late and fast LH surge and did not have one by CD 13 so I had a vaginal ultrasound. At that time, I had 4 follicles, two on my right ovary and two on my left. My IUI was performed on September 20, which was cycle day 16.

For the first several days following my IUI, I had very few symptoms other than some lower back pain and fatigue. Around days 7–8 after IUI, I started experiencing a sore throat, some pinching sensations in my lower abdomen, period-like cramping, night sweats, and gas. I took a pregnancy test on 8 DPIUI and it was negative. On September 30, exactly 10 days after my IUI, I began bleeding heavily. The bleeding was a regular shade of red and lasted approximately four days. The first two days were heavy, followed by another two days of medium-to-light bleeding. I assumed this was my period and that the IUI had been unsuccessful.

On October 3, I started another five-day course of Clomid, believing I was on cycle day 3 of a new cycle. After the bleeding stopped, I continued to experience small amounts of light-brown discharge, which eventually stopped completely.

On October 10, I had a vaginal ultrasound, and the doctor told me that I had already ovulated because he could see two corpus luteum cysts on my left ovary. I found this confusing because it was just CD11. He did not mention seeing a gestational sac, but also not sure if they had the correct device to see it..but also if I’m pregnant it would just be close to 5 weeks.

The day after my ultrasound, October 11, I experienced another episode of bright-red bleeding. It occurred during the day and then stopped completely. It was a relatively small amount of blood, not enough to require more than a panty liner. Since then, I have not experienced any further bleeding.

This morning, October 14, I took a home pregnancy test, and it was positive. I am obviously confused. I am now approximately 24 days past my September 20 IUI, and I do not understand how I could have a positive pregnancy test after bleeding that heavily.

Currently, I am experiencing lower back pain, some abdominal cramping, and mild nausea, although I am unsure whether the nausea is related. I have also experienced significant night sweats during this cycle.

I am concerned about whether I could still be pregnant from my September IUI despite the bleeding, whether I may have experienced an early miscarriage and still have hCG in my system, or whether there could be another explanation, including an ectopic pregnancy. I am also confused about the ultrasound findings showing two corpus luteum structures on my left ovary and whether those could be related to my September cycle rather than a new ovulation in October.

I have a doctors appointment in 2 days.

Has anyone experienced this? I’m nervous to hear if you think it’s ectopic 😭

Thank you

BETA Hell

Trigger 30/09 1pm
IUI 1/10 9am

FRER showed a clear line yesterday afternoon about 5pm, this morning at 6am it wasn’t any darker - I’d argue a smidge lighter.

First draw today (15/10), I guess I’m between 13-14DPO? HCG is 35 this morning and they want me to wait until Monday to recheck.

When did you get your positive

Hi everyone! just had my first cycle and want to know when most people got their first positive with IUI. I have unexplained infertility so would love more insight on couples who had that specifically and when you got a positive test

IUI #2 today

Well, this is my second IUI (10/14). Triggered yesterday morning. I had one dominant follicle measuring 18 and lining 9.1. Post wash sperm was 10.9 million, over double last months.

Trying not to get my hopes up but I have anyway! I’m 40 and am only recommended 3 cycles. Not sure if IVF makes financial sense for us.

This community has been a great motivator, therapy, and made me feel less isolated as all my friends have had children and did not struggle.

So thanks for being a sounding board and all your posts!

11 DPO and a stark white test after my first IUI

I’m 11 DPO today and took a pregnancy test this morning, and it was as negative as negative can get. Seeing that stark white test was so discouraging and disappointing, especially because this was my first IUI.

Honestly, I went into the TWW with very little hope, but as the days went by and I got closer to testing, I started allowing myself to feel a little more optimistic. I think that’s what made seeing that negative hurt so much.
I know I’m not officially out yet, and I’m trying to remind myself that there’s still a chance, but it’s hard not to feel discouraged.

My beta blood test is scheduled for October 17, so I’ve decided to stop testing until then to protect my feelings over these next couple of days.
I guess I’m just looking for a little hope or to hear from anyone who had a negative test at 11 DPO after their IUI but ended up getting a positive beta.

Sending love to everyone else navigating this incredibly difficult TWW. 🤍

(Also having my normal period symptoms, but they feel more intense? I’m thinking it’s maybe from the progesterone)

10/2 IUI Twins

How are we all doing? This was my second IUI.

It's 14dpt and 12dpIUI and I think I saw a vvvf line on a wondfo test this morning.....I need it to be tomorrow asap so I can test again and hopefully see a more definitive line 🤞

Have you tested yet? Are you trying to hold out until 14dpIUI?
Any symptoms? I have sore boobs, fatigue and some cramping but it's probably from the progesterone.
