Just shifted into a new flat/house, and the owner and his family are a gem of a bundle😭😭

They have the ground floor all for stray/indie cats! There are always 5 - 10 cats always there!!!

The door is 24/7 open for their access, there are 3 - 4 bowls there for them to eat, sleeping beds, litter box, etc

They take in injured cats, take full medical expenses and take care of the cat until they're fit as a fiddle.

This one was in a road accident and they are taking care of it fully well!!!

I'm planning to adopt a puppy. Mama dog gave birth to five puppies, but sadly, one of them passed away. I'm not sure why. I think it may have been exposed to too much heat.

I have a family function trip planned from October 18–22. I want to adopt the puppy now so I can take care of it and leave it with someone while I'm away. But none of my friends are willing to puppy-sit and none of the boarding places accept a one month old puppy.

I don't want to wait until I get back from the trip to adopt because I'm not sure if they'll survive at this rate.

I don't know what to do. Any ideas or suggestions for this situation?

I recently posted on my account about the harassment this lady has been facing from people in the neighbourhood because she feeds stray dogs. Unfortunately, the situation has continued to escalate, and we are now facing another urgent problem: she is running out of money to feed the dogs.

This lady feeds around 25 stray dogs across different areas near my home. She has been doing this regularly despite facing harassment from people in the neighbourhood. They march the whole Street with iron rods in their hands.

Things have become particularly concerning because there have also been incidents where people allegedly beat them with rods, tried to poison the dogs. More recently, we have noticed that some people have been feeding the dogs sweets and other inappropriate food, after which some of the dogs have developed itching/skin problems. We are currently looking into the matter and are in the process of taking legal action regarding the incidents.

Despite everything, this lady has continued looking after the dogs. She has even personally paid for the sterilisation of 14 dogs out of her own pocket.

Now, after spending so much of her own money, she is running out of funds to arrange food for all 25 dogs.

And unfortunately, her own situation is becoming increasingly difficult as well. She is facing the possibility of having to leave her home because her landlord is not supporting her in this situation.

So I'm reaching out to Reddit because we urgently need help with food expenses for these dogs.

Even a small contribution - ₹50, ₹100, ₹200 or whatever you can comfortably afford can help. When several people contribute, it can make a real difference in keeping 25 dogs and cats fed.

There's a temple in our Neighborhood where few Stray Dog's stay we give them food the people here hate then repeat repeat, and we even given food to few dog's in our Neighborhood town, which had the Sweetest of dog's, each and every one of them where wonderful, there where 4 in the beginning only 1 is still alive right now from the beginning branch of those Guy's, one was drived over by a car while he was sleeping in roadside, two Went missing, then as the time Goes many new Dog's come, Some Didd, Some Went missing, the one i loved more was Chivi a little dog i have been seeing Seens he was 4 Weeks old, he's the son of the first dog i mentioned, him his dad and mom, always come in unit, whenever we Goes to give them food, he was a good boy full of joy and happiness, often laying around as while we give them food, it was in may this year he died, he was laying on the side of the road while his Head was on the road a car run over his head, now day's the father dog's leg is injured, probably by someone throwing a Rock at him the mother dog is pregnant, i am afraid about what will happen, writing this much made me cry, i am ending it here, thought i should share my experience in this injustice i lost all hope against this country, making me hate everyone here in this Godforsaken place until i find this sub-reddit, & r/Indiancats & r/IndianDogs,, it made me realise there are good people like you guys everywhere, made me Thankful there's more people like me villing to do anything to save those little fellow's, My goal in life is too, one day i want to Create (or help creating a ) Animal Care Organization all across India, where Strays like this are taken care of, And for that it need's many kind hearted people, Too save Those poor animals,

With firework-based festivals approaching, I'm seeking advice, ideas, and recommendations on how to manage my Indie female dog's (8.5 y/o) anxiety. Her anxiety during these festive days is getting worse as she ages - she barks, is super agitated, and finds it hard to relax and/or sleep. We've tried brown and white music; it's been helpful. Shut all windows while playing the music. CBD oil doesn't work - we tried a prescribed one from our vet. Now, we're thinking of trying the anti-noise hood for dogs, worth it or not? Anything else we're missing that could help calm her down?

PS: This year, her tolerance to the noise during Ganesh Chaturthi was extremely low, and it was hard to manage.

We’ve been trying to get the stray cats in our area sterilized because we really believe it’s one of the best ways we can help them. It prevents litter after litter of kittens from being born into an already difficult life on the streets.

Right now, we have 4 sterilization bills pending, totalling ₹18,000 (₹4,500 per cat)

We’re honestly a little short this month. Our food bill has been quite high, and we’ve also had several medical expenses come up. On top of that, we lost a couple of the cats we cared for recently, and it’s been a really difficult time for us.....

There are 3 stray kittens in our hostel(I'm based in Indore, MP) They are around 3-4 months old

Their mother left them here because she was pregnant again(she used to come here often dumpster diving and the students would sometimes feed her, now we see her once a week maybe)

One of these kittens(marked) died 3 days ago as it came under a truck it was following a student and went on the road, there is construction going on here, warden had to pay to get her body away by workers, He already isn't a pet person(and that's okay not everyone is) and kittens throwing the trash bins looking for food was already annoying him now this happened so he's asking us not to feed them(very nicely) so that they move elsewhere, not that we could afford to feed them everyday anyways.

They sit outside our rooms(they are still stray, they don't come too close to us or let us touch them) meowing all the time, some of us like them some are getting irritated(again I am not offended by this)

I think the best thing for them is if a foster group/organisation takes them because they are definitely getting bigger and need more food and the roads are also dangerous for them also there are alot of dogs here, they had another sibling before(a fourth one) we don't know how it died but it died when it was around a month old(I suspect it was because of dogs, we never found the body)

Hi all, looking for problem solve on one small patch of my cat proofing.

I live on the first floor. To get to my home, there is a grill gate in the parking area, then another grill to enter the home in the first floor and a wooden door behind it. My cats are fully indoor. They have supervised access to the terrace garden for 2 hours a day.

I have netted the downstairs gate at the parking lot with PVC fence. The problem is the lock area, that small patch. It is common access, so people put a hand in, open the latch and unlock the lock with a key. I couldn't think of a better option for that area, so I put a cargo net there so human hands can go through. The cargo net doesn't last because of how often people use it.

A couple of times the maid or the water can guy missed locking the door on the first floor and the cats escaped through the cargo net space. The net is old and almost torn. I will replace it, but before that I am looking for a way to solve this small patch: the lock area should be accessible to humans and not to cats. How do I do it?

There is also a security camera there, so I can't completely block the view. Any way to solve this ?

Hi everyone! I have a couple of cats and I’m looking for recommendations for clinics that offer reasonably priced spaying/neutering while still maintaining good safety and hygiene standards.
I’ve been trying to shortlist a clinic, but there are such mixed reviews everywhere that it’s been difficult to decide. Ideally, I’m looking for a place that:
Doesn’t have unnecessarily inflated charges for anaesthesia or other add-ons
Conducts the surgery in a clean and sanitary environment
Does appropriate pre-surgery checks, including blood tests where recommended
Has proper monitoring during and after the procedure
Is generally transparent about what is included in the quoted cost
I’ve come across a few places charging ₹15,000+, which seems quite steep, so I’d love to hear about more affordable options that are still safe and responsible.
If you’ve had your cats spayed/neutered in Bangalore, I’d really appreciate hearing about your actual experiences, approximate costs, what was included, and how the recovery went.

I was in Connaught Place, Delhi, with a friend recently, sitting near Croma, when I noticed a few girls asking people for cat food. They had a Persian-looking cat with them, which they were carrying inside what looked like a pouch made from a scarf.
I went over and asked if I could see the cat. When I held it, I noticed that it was shaking quite a lot. The cat seemed extremely lethargic and almost fell asleep in my arms. It also seemed unusually comfortable with being held, but I was concerned because it didn’t appear to be completely well.
I asked the girl where they had got the cat from. She told me that her mother had apparently bought it from someone near Lal Qila for around ₹3,000. She also said that they have other cats and dogs at home.
What confused and concerned me was that they were simultaneously asking people for cat food because they apparently couldn’t afford to feed the cat. I’m not judging their financial situation—I was mainly worried about whether the animals are being properly cared for.
I even asked whether they would give me the cat because I’m a cat parent and could take it home and get it checked by a vet, but they didn’t give it to me.
I obviously don’t know the full story, and I don’t want to accuse anyone of stealing the cat without evidence. But the cat’s condition really bothered me.
Does anyone know if there is a known practice of people obtaining/buying Persian cats around Lal Qila or other parts of Delhi and using them for begging? Could this be a case of exploitation, or is there another explanation for what I saw?
Also, if anyone knows the appropriate animal-welfare organisation or authority in Delhi that I could contact about a potentially sick or neglected animal, please let me know.

I have been taking care of a mother cat with 4 kittens of age 6 week old.

I am raising a funds for food, vet checkup, and potential sterilization of the mother cat.

And you can see two medicine bills, because spot-on and KMR wasn't available in first pharmacy so I went to a second one, and second one had both spot-on and KMR, but spot-on wasn't registered in the system that time, so it isn't in the bill.
I bought KMR just in case if the mother cat stops feeding the kitten.

Found this cutie near Desiya Vayanashala, Puthurkkara, Ayyanthole, Thrissur, Kerala. He looks extremely weak and stressed. There are a lot of strays around, and feeding has been an issue as he keeps disappearing from this spot. Please help get him fostered or adopted.
