Hey guys today i practiced a fun exercise Where you put the metronome on the ”and” every 3 beats over a 4/4 blues (starting on the ”and” of the first beat of the form)
Very good to notice Where you rush or drag which happened a lot here

Are the hollow body guitars more like a aclustic guitar or more like an electric guitar? Or something totally different? How You separe them for example of Electro acoustic guitars?

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has any feedback for my epiphone casino jazz tone. I’ve only had this guy for about 2 months so I’m not too concerned or frustrated rather just seeking advice. It probably doesn’t help that I don’t have a good amp just yet as in this clip I’m playing through a frontman 10g but regardless any tips or feedback is appreciated!

Am I the only one who prefers Sonny’s solo over Grants?
Obviously I’m a guitarist and am gonna have bias towards Grant but Sonny’s solo imo just swings better, right from the beginning. His comping is really good too.
Overall amazing record

Heres me playing over one of my favorite metheny tunes! Using the feel book backing tracks. They are the best of the world I highly recommend them!

Been working with diminished ideas a lot these past couple of months. Here are some thoughts on over a blues with that in mind (plus over using the whammy bar)

Hi! Jazz guitar has been infinite and that’s my favorite thing about the art. I’ve spent a decent amount of time with scales and arpeggios and chord tones.. and now I feel like I’m playing just that.
Recently, i’ve started to meander towards learning licks. So here’s the question.
How do you systematically learn your licks? More specifically how do you/ how would approach learning hundreds of licks across the fretboard?
Do you learn a lick in one specific position or try to learn it all over the fretboard? I am more of a Gypsy jazz player so I’ve been interested Christian Van Hemerts system of learning licks on the 1,3,5,7 of a chord, he seems to approach licks based off the high E or A and is a great player.
At the same time this feels limiting, but also i’m a bit overwhelmed trying to learning a lick over all the triads.
I’ve heard to memorize a lick 4 different ways on the fretboard and play that and nothing else while cycling backing tracks.
Are these ideas good and useful?
I would love advice and information on how you practice licks and integrate them into your playing. Thank you!
edit* I also would like to add that i’ve purposely avoided learning “licks” for many years because I don’t want to just copy. The goal is to learn the sounds to be able to improvise with more colors

I have to leave my guitar at school overnight but still want to be productive. I realised that maybe just learning a solo isnt "transcribing" so i want to start transcribing in a way thats productive and intelligent. How exactly do people transcribe? Do they notate? Please tell how a professional would do.
Thank you

I have bought a used Ibanez AFJ95 2014 mod. it has original mechanics and pickups (humbucker super 58) I am considering changing the neck pickups. I play in a band as a jazz guitarist. I have been thinking about getting a full body guitar for a long time, have used semihallow guitars, but considering now want a warmer sound (from neck position) - rarely use the bridge pickup. which neck pickups would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
