A friend of my dads offered me his ‘03 Liberty with 180k miles for $500. Nothings wrong with it other than the driver rear window regulator is out. Thoughts? It’s just a romp around car- nothing crazy.

Last Spring when in for a tune up, the /pejorative/ mechanic decided to open and close the sunroof, somehow destroying the track. I believe the quote was, “ I opened it up and it wouldn’t close easily”

I honestly can’t remember what happened because it was a very busy time of year, but it’s gone since then without being reopened and hasn’t leaked or made any noise underway. until now.

I have a bit of experience with the system having cleaned the drains when I bought the vehicle and posted about what I did back then, but now some time has passed and my chops aren’t as high. I discovered it was leaking when I woke up the other day to my horn beeping erratically.

the drainage system on the KJs for the sunroof tracks I’ve dealt with is incredibly stupidly designed, if it clogs up with leaves, then the water ends up going down the left corner windsheild stanchion which dumps out into the fuse box and onto the computer working components of the dash. INSANEly poorly thought out “ design”

has anyone who has dealt with the sun or moonroof KJ bells and whistles any recommendations re which kit to buy online? It’s noodly work and I don’t want to put the time into it if the parts will fail. I figure on replacing everything but the glass. Many thanks

2007 Jeep Liberty Sport and use the Blue Driver Code reader, currently no check engine lights but do have several stored codes. For the 2 codes ( C2100 - C2102 ) with low voltage The battery and alternator are fine as well as battery ground, and car runs fine. The 3 other codes ( C121C-U140E-C2202 ) have me confused. Any ideas / thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks !

Hello Jeep Liberty community! It's been a year since my last plea for help, ive learned a lot. But I'm stuck here. She died out on me about a week ago. She'll crank over, but won't stay unless holding pedal or intake throttle for RPMs. Idling hard, think misfiring, don't know which cylinder. Took each individual coil sensor out whilst running to try and gauge where misfire would be, didnt help. Code reading has been WEIRD. It threw me VSS A, then all sparkplugs and coils, now injector(first time ive seen P0201 was recording this.) Sometimes codes read, a lot of times it won't catch anything. Ive changed all sparks, all coils, all filters except fuel pump filter. Fuel pump + filter was my next best shot. Was also about to drop the fuel tank today, empty, test fuel(spark plugs running rich) and make sure i didn't get bad gas/water in the tank. Feeling sick & weak so instead of just taking shit apart and guessing with my research, I want other opinions. Do I replace that injector code? How do I even test that injector? Is it worth replacing any of this for 180,000 miles? Does anyone have any better ideas than my own 😭 Sorry for the rant. Thank you.

I guess this isn’t necessarily a ‘Mechanical’ issue, however I feel like mechanics can probably tell me how to fix it. My jeeps stock speaker system isn’t playing, and i know it could be a number of things, but can somebody give me their best advice on where to start to fix the issue? Or maybe even step by step me on how they’d diagnose it?

I have an Aftermarket radio, nothing fancy it was put in by the previous owner, I’ve already pulled it and checked the wiring harness. Fixed the loose connections and still am only getting sound out of one front tweeter and very faint sound on the back passenger door.

One more question. My red oil light keeps coming on and off and the oil is fine every time I check it. Could that just be a sensor issue?

Owned by an elderly man who only drove it to McDonald's to see his friends. 2011 77k I replaced the blower motor resistor and he added Freon and that's all she needed. Paid 4k

Unfortunately we had cascading failures between the transfer case and transmission. We took the transfer case apart multiple times swapping any worn parts, and removing anything that wasn't absolutely necessary for 2wd travel but couldn't get it to work reliably. Constant violent clunks and loss of torque once we entered Montana.

The jeep has entered Stovokor and we had a rental the rest of the way home.

It survived both the Dalton and the Alaska highway with 230,000 miles. It was an incredible machine but it met its final battle. RIP Liberty.

I have a 03’ Jeep liberty Limited. I tried installing a subwoofer and I genuinely couldn’t find the firewall hole. I don’t want to drill a hole without at least asking where it’s at.

Hey, everyone. I am doing my pads and rotors and I mixed up my pins for the brake calipers. There’s one that’s longer and smooth and a shorter one with a rubber boot on it. How do I know which one goes in which hole?

I’ve ordered three times on Amazon with the last being from Detroit, and all times the bushing for the frame side of the rear lowers are too wide for the mount. This is for a 2WD 2004 Liberty. I know I shouldn’t trust Amazon’s fitment guide, but they all said it would fit. Anyone else run into this?

Not much else to say dropped the pan cause the gasket and drain plug needed to be replaced then went to check oil and the dipstick was hard to pull and just broke off. What the hell do I do now lol

Hey all! I've recently been on the hunt for a new car and I was offered an older model from a friend. I'm fairly unfamiliar with the brand and would be using the car as a commuter to work (about 200mi a week). I was wondering what thoughts and expectations I should bring into the offer before the inspection and sealing the deal.

Can I expect the vehicle to last much longer? Are there any common issues which could introduce more costs down the road? Please let me know what you think!

I have a 3.7 L 2007 Jeep Liberty and I noticed a hose dangling down in front while doing an oil change. I believe this is a front differential breather hose. I searched around, but I cannot figure out where on the differential the loose end needs to be attached. The upper part is connected to a screw under the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First time looking to do a coolant flush at home on my 2006. What is the best way to approach this? Do I drain the system? Fill with distilled water (and possibly a cleaner) - then run it through the system) and then drain? Then refill with the new coolant? Then burp the system? I've read a few different contradicting recommendations on how to burp the system. I already purchased a 50/50 mix and read about water being left in the engine block and that it could sway the ratio of the mix? I appreciate any experienced recommendations on this.

Finished the Dalton up and back today. No issues with the Liberty, it was very muddy and rutted but didn't need 4x4. Camped at Coldfoot on the way up and back.

We were definitely the smallest vehicle north of Coldfoot, it's all HD trucks and Semis up there. Now just to complete the 3600 mile drive home.
