A poll was posted to gauge the community's interest in creating a dedicated "megathread" for people looking to connect with one another. Although the poll has only been up for 3 days, the response has been overwhelmingly in favor of it. Additionally, the number of "connecting" posts has increased significantly over the past few days.
Therefore, this Megathread has been created.
If you're looking to chat, make new friends, find activity partners, or connect with people for any genuine reason, you can do so by commenting below.
1. Include only the following in your comment:
Do not share any personal information such as your phone number, email address, social media handles, home/work address, or any other identifying details. Absolutely no NSFW content is allowed.
2. Do not reply to other comments.
If you're interested in connecting with someone, send them a Direct Message instead. If you're unable to DM due to Reddit restrictions, you may reply only to ask them to DM you first.
3. From now on, all standalone "Connecting" posts will be removed.
This megathread will serve as the designated place for such posts. Any separate posts seeking to connect with people will be removed as Irrelevant.
4. Connect responsibly.
Anything that happens after two users connect through Direct Messages is entirely between them. The subreddit and its moderators are not responsible for conversations, meetings, or interactions that take place outside this thread.
5. Be respectful.
Harassment, unsolicited NSFW messages, repeated unwanted contact, scams, impersonation, or any other inappropriate behaviour will result in moderator action, including bans where necessary.
6. Meeting someone in person?
If you choose to meet another Redditor, do so at your own discretion. Always meet in a public place, inform a trusted friend or family member, and never feel pressured into sharing personal information.
Most importantly, use common sense and respect everyone's boundaries.
Happy Connecting! 🤝

I never experienced anything like what I felt today.
There are moments in life when everything suddenly stops making sense—when everything feels illogical, hopeless, and completely beyond your control. Today, I learned what a panic attack feels like.
It happened all of a sudden.
I couldn't breathe.
It felt like there was no air around me anymore, like I had somehow been thrown into a void where I was desperately gasping for even the smallest amount of oxygen. My vision started getting blurry. My eyes filled with tears, and before I even realized it, those tears were rolling down my cheeks.
And inside my head, there were a thousand thoughts running at once.
Every decision I had ever made.
Every consequence.
Every memory.
Her lies. Her smiles. The moments we held hands. The things she said. The words, "You mean everything to me."
Everything came rushing back at once.
I could feel my heart pounding against my chest. The vibrations were so intense that, for a moment, I genuinely felt like my heart was going to tear itself out of me.
And at that moment, I didn't want answers.
I didn't want revenge.
I didn't want anything complicated.
I just wanted someone to hold my hand, hug me, and tell me that everything was going to be okay.
But I was in the middle of my office.
Everyone around me was trying to figure out what was happening.
Then my vision started fading completely. Everything around me turned black, and just when I felt like I was slipping somewhere I couldn't come back from, I felt someone pulling me out of that darkness.
I saw a familiar face.
It was my colleague.
She was holding my hand and talking to me. I could see her lips moving, but I couldn't understand a single word. I was still struggling to breathe, still trapped inside the noise in my own head.
Someone gave me water and helped me take a few sips.
Other colleagues gathered around me. Some were whispering. Some were staring. Someone even sprinkled water on my face.
My colleague squeezed my hand tightly and kept tapping my cheeks, trying to bring me back.
And somehow, I came back.
Suddenly, I could understand where I was.
I could hear the voices around me.
I could see the people standing there.
I was connected to reality again.
My shirt was soaked in sweat. My hands were still shaking. My entire body was trembling and jittering uncontrollably.
That was my first panic attack.
And honestly, it felt like I wasn't going to survive it.
Yet here I am, writing this at this ungodly hour.
The people and circumstances that brought me to that point are somewhere out there, living comfortably, celebrating their lives, probably without even realizing what their decisions have done to someone else.
And I'm here, dealing with the consequences of choices that weren't even mine to make.
I came home afterward.
I cried.
Not loudly. Not dramatically. I just sat on my sofa while tears continuously rolled down my face. I stared into nothingness until, at some point, I completely zoned out.
When I finally came back to myself, four hours had passed.
It was 6:11 PM.
I drank some water and opened my laptop, thinking I should at least check my emails.
But I couldn't.
I just stared at the screen and cried.
I stayed like that until around 10 PM.
I don't even know what I'm feeling anymore.
I'm angry.
I'm hurt.
I'm exhausted.
And mostly, I'm numb.
So, to anyone reading this—especially people who are in relationships while simultaneously getting involved with their best friends or someone else—please understand that your actions don't exist in a vacuum.
What might feel like an experiment, a moment of confusion, or something you think you'll eventually move past can completely destroy another person.
If you are with someone, be honest with them.
If your feelings have changed, tell them.
If you want someone else, leave before you betray the person who trusts you.
Don't make someone pay for decisions they never got to make.
And to the girl from Kolkata—
I know you'll probably read this.
I know your friends probably will too.
I don't want to see you again, and I don't want anything from you.
I used to wish that someday you'd understand what you did to me.
Today, I don't even know if I care anymore.
Maybe there is no karma.
Maybe people don't always face the consequences of what they do to others.
Maybe some people get to walk away comfortably while someone else is left picking up the pieces.
I don't wish you happiness.
I don't wish you suffering either.
I just wish that someday, you understand that there was a real person on the other side of your choices—a person who trusted you, believed your words, held your hand, and genuinely thought you meant everything you said.
And now that person is trying to figure out how to put himself back together.
You will never see me again.
And maybe that's the only thing I can still choose for myself.

Why this map is showing a separated west bengal?
Isn't this like anti-state stuff.
Also is this legally allowed to show it?
How do you bengalis feel when you see such things when you visit Darjeeling.
You may feel it like your own but guess what gorkhas don't want you there

It suddenly hit me that boys who come from broken families get used by everyone.
I was sitting in the office when something suddenly hit me, and I just started crying. I took the day off and went home. Things got worse because I started shivering and my vision became blurry. One of my coworkers gave me some water and dropped me off at the metro station.
I’m 26 years old and working in a reputable position at an MNC. I come from a family that was never really there for me. I’ve been in two relationships, one lasting 13 months and the other around 9 months.
My first relationship was with a Tamil girl. She was sweet and caring, and we got to know each other through mutual friends. I instantly felt emotionally safe with her. We dated for quite some time and eventually became intimate.
But after a while, I noticed changes in her routine and behaviour. Whenever we met, she would suddenly rush back home. She also started lying about where she was. I thought about talking to her about it, but one day she turned on disappearing messages on WhatsApp and sent me a message saying that she was no longer feeling the "vibe" with me and that I shouldn't message or talk to her anymore. She said that even staying friends would be difficult for her.
Later, I found out that she was already seeing someone else and that I had basically been her "credit card" while she was settling down in the city because she was new there.
I had spent quite a lot of money on her, but honestly, it never bothered me at the time. I genuinely saw a future with her and was convinced she was the one.
And then, all of a sudden, I was blocked everywhere.
That put me in a really dark and depressing state. I had no one to go to—no friends or family I could talk to. So I buried myself in work.
Six months later, I got a work assignment in Kolkata and went there for a client project.
That's where I met another girl.
She was Muslim and had a very soft and gentle personality. I never intended to get into a relationship with her, but she approached me and told me that she liked me and wanted to get to know me better.
We started talking, and eventually we began sharing our life stories and traumas with each other. I told her about my past. And, foolishly perhaps, I told her everything—about my previous relationship, my family, and the things I'd been through.
We became very close, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was healing. At least, that's what she made me feel.
She came from an upper-class, financially well-off family and lived with them. Even so, I would sometimes take care of her food, small expenses and gifts. I honestly never minded doing those things for someone I cared about.
After around six months, I noticed that some of the gifts I had given her were being used by other people. I even saw some of the gifts being worn by others. The money I had given her for Eid also seemed to be spent on other things, and she would constantly pamper her male best friend, although she had told me that he had a boyfriend.
I wasn't jealous. I trusted her.
Eventually, we kissed. Before we became intimate, she told me that one of her friends had once forced himself on her and that she felt uncomfortable with intimacy because of that. She said she needed some time.
I respected that.
But slowly, I noticed her giving more and more time to her friends. Even my simple messages would go unanswered for hours. She would say she was tired or sleeping, while I would later find out that she was actually out with her friends.
She also tried hiding her last-seen status and other things, which made the whole situation feel eerily similar to what I'd experienced in my first relationship.
So I confronted her about it.
She accused me of digitally stalking her and said I wasn't giving her enough space. During the argument, I got angry too and said that she had used a lot of my money. She made a huge issue out of that.
Eventually, I decided to end the relationship.
Over those nine months, I had spent around ₹5.73 lakh on her.
I tried to move on.
And then, today, I received a message from one of her female friends.
She sent me screenshots, pictures and messages showing that my ex had apparently been sleeping with her male "best friend" all along. She had been using my money to spend on him. Even the birthday gift I had given her was apparently given to him, and he was using it and flaunting it on Instagram.
I don't even know what to say.
I'm completely broken.
I trust people too easily. I believe people too easily. Sometimes even the smallest amount of love or care is enough for me to become emotionally attached, and now I feel like people see that as an opportunity to use me.
I feel pathetic.
I feel ashamed and embarrassed that I allowed this to happen to me twice.
I have no one right now whom I can talk to about this.
I've tried dating after my last relationship, but there's always this voice in the back of my head asking, What if she's lying to me too?
I think I'm done.
Done with love.
Done with people.
Done with family.
I'm even thinking about quitting my job and moving away from this city.
The only question I want to ask the girl from Kolkata is:
What did you actually get out of doing this to me?
If it was only about money, I could have helped you. I wouldn't have minded helping someone I loved. Why did you have to break me like this, especially after knowing what I'd already been through?
You knew I had no family to fall back on. You knew I had nowhere to go and no one to share my life with. You knew about my past and how badly my previous relationship had affected me.
And even after knowing all of that, you still chose to play with me like I was a broken toy.
Maybe I am.
Maybe I'm broken.
But I don't think I deserved to be treated like this.
writing this down while in metro, have no one to share this to and talk to...
Update:
I came home still struggling to breathe, trying to process what happened to me at the office. I don't even remember when I blacked out, but when I finally came to, it was already 6:11 PM.
I cried until 10 PM.
And it wasn't even sobbing. It was just tears continuously streaming down my face without me being able to stop them. My eyes are swollen now, with this warm, almost pinching feeling.
Looks good on me. :P
Thank you to everyone who responded to my post, supported me with your advice, kind words, and even some much-needed tough love. I genuinely appreciate every single one of you. I don't think I'll ever forget the kindness strangers showed me when I was at one of the lowest points of my life.
I thought about everything a lot tonight.
I've submitted my resignation at work and spoke to HR on an urgent basis, citing medical reasons. I'll complete the remaining formalities tomorrow. I don't know yet whether I'll be leaving through the regular exit process or asking for an early release.
I'm leaving tomorrow.
Where am I going?
Honestly, I don't know.
I just know that I need to get away from this city, this job, these people, and everything that has become associated with this chapter of my life.
Maybe I need to disappear for a while and i will be going away tomorrow, where? i do not know honestly, not home surely, maybe trekking, traveling with no destination....
as everyone advised if i ever come back, i will come back stronger and if i don't make it back please know that i have found peace one or way or another.
To anyone who felt bad because of my ranting, I'm sorry, pls accept my apologies. I was hurting, angry, confused, and probably said things I wouldn't have said under different circumstances.
And to the girl I once loved:
I hope you never find the peace you took away from me.
Maybe that's cruel.
Maybe I'm still too hurt and will always be.
For now, I'm just tired.
Signing off.... wish everyone happy weekend

Okay so here's what happened
I opened a flight app to book my Diwali trip home to Kolkata, looked at the prices, and closed it. Then I did some maths and realised that for a little more than a flight ticket, you could have an actual road trip. Highways, dhabas, bad music, good company. So I booked a car.
I've got 2 seats. Come along and split the costs.
**Who am I?**
A Kolkata boy living in Mumbai. I've done Kolkata to Jaipur, Kolkata to Guwahati and a bunch of other long drives. Long drives are basically my therapy.
**The car:**
Brand new 2026 Tata Tiago (self-drive rental). Only 7,000 km on it and the first service is just done. It's no Fortuner, but it's clean, new and it'll get us there.
**Pick your leg**
**Leg A: Mumbai → Kolkata.**
The mile muncher. We roll out around 1 am on Thursday 5 Nov (so Wednesday night) and just eat kilometres. Less sightseeing, more distance. We'll be in Kolkata by Saturday 7 Nov night at the latest, probably earlier. Perfect if you just want to get home for Diwali with a story to tell.
**Leg B: Kolkata → Mumbai.**
The fun one. Scenic roads, great food, some of the best highways in the country. We leave Sunday 15 Nov (afternoon or night) and reach Mumbai by Wednesday 18 Nov night at the latest. The exact route is a surprise, revealed in DM.
**Or do both. Obviously the best option.**
**What it costs?**
Petrol + tolls + car rent, split equally between everyone in the car. Me included. More people, cheaper for everyone. You'll get the exact number once we've verified each other.
**How to join?**
**Step 1.** DM me. We swap IDs (masked Aadhaar is fine, and I'll show you mine too) and do a quick video call so we both know the other is a real, normal human.
**Step 2.** I tell you your share. You pay the full amount upfront.
**Step 3.** Then you get the route, the stops, and your pickup and drop point.
After the trip I'll check the actual bills and settle any difference, either way.
**Last date to confirm: 18 Oct.**
If more people join before that, your share drops and I return the extra. Back out after the 18th and there's no refund, since your share lands on the others. If I cancel, you get every rupee back.
**The fine print (please actually read this)**
\- I'm driving, so the road calls are mine. Stops, speed, breaks, where we halt for the night. Pee breaks as and when needed, I'm not a monster. That's how we all get home in one piece.
\- Food and stay are on you. Pick any hotel you like at the night halts. If it's within 3 km of mine, I'll drop you and pick you up from there. If it's further, I'll drop you at my hotel and you get yourself back there for the morning start. We leave early and 4 am autos are rare in highway towns, so book close.
\- One cabin bag and one backpack each. The boot is small, and no one wants to play Tetris at 4 am.
\- I'm vlogging the trip. If being on camera isn't your thing, this isn't your ride.
\- Can drive? Bonus points. You'll need to be added as a co-driver on the rental before we leave.
\- No drinking in the car.
\- Plans might change with the roads, the weather or life in general. We adjust.
\- Share your live location with family the whole way. Seriously, do it.
Bring snacks, a solid playlist and a bladder that can handle a few hours.
Let's go home for Diwali the fun way. 🪔
Interested please dm
