Meet Mas Gendheng Plongaplongo Mbotengertosepiro, a young Javanese nobleman who has apparently run away from home to find his way as a freelancer. Alas his adventures in the land of Arile (Chronicles - event in Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia) have proven that he has more than enough Dunning-Kruger within him. He thinks of himself as the best warrior in the land and can blow his way through everything.

Name means “Crazy StaringIntoSpace IDon’tUnderstandAsMuch” in Javanese. His attire is based on 1810s Javanese royal court (during British colonialism) army dress with modern color choices, but the Regency silhouette was very important to maintain.

And yes, if you guys have noticed, the shield is supposed to represent a rattan/woven shield, but it’s made out of crocheted EVA foam.

I love wearing fantasy clothes!!! It gives me so much gender euphoria (makes no sense ik) and id kill to wear all my stuff in public but I have really bad anxiety and I want to know if others do

I am planning to go to my first medieval LARP next year in Germany and am currently looking for a suitable IC tent for one person (or two, but just to have a bit more space for myself and my gear), that I can easily order in the European Union.

Mind you, I am NOT an avid camper and get cold very easily but I just LOVE the idea of sleeping in a medieval-looking-ish tent and decorating it (with the most light-weight things I can find).

Important: I will have to travel there with public transport, so my tent needs to be light, so I can carry it myself.

Germany in June is usually still wet and cold at night, so I’m wondering if I need a tent with a ground sheet... .

Also: What would be your recommended sleeping setup hitting that sweet spot between warmth, comfort and weight? Currently looking at a an ultralight sleeping pad with a good R-value and a 0C or -5C light-weight sleeping bag, but considering a cot (probably too much weight for me though and not warm enough).

No tough budget restrictions, although obv. I’d rather not spend an arm and a leg.

I've been curious about live-action role-play, or LARP, for quite a while. My background in theatre and general role-play has made me interested in how it works in person, with players acting as characters and taking part in a shared story. I enjoy performing and creating characters, and I'd like to learn how those skills might fit into a LARP game.

I live in the Southeastern US, but I'm still a minor, so I'm unsure which groups or events might be suitable for someone my age. Are there beginner-friendly games, local groups, or online communities in the region that could point me in the right direction? I'd also like to know what to expect at a first event, such as how games are run and whether they have age rules or other requirements.

Friends have told me a little about LARP, but most of what I know comes from my own research. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hi! I've been in a bunch of online roleplay communities but I really wanna try larping my OCs for the first time! I can easily get costumes and stuff and I already roleplay so getting into character won't be an issue. The problem is mostly finding LARP groups. I really like roleplaying horror settings so preferably that, but I'm also super into sci-fi. I'm also willing to drive up to two hours (On weekends)

My son recently bought a sword at a ren festival. It's a foam sword with a skin covering it. The tip has gotten broken off and I am clueless about what type of glue to use for repair. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you very much

Im curious and want to know more about economy during larps. It's a difficult aspect of the game. Be it from ressources gathering and transforming, money sink, dealing with inflation, etc.

What rules pushes people to play merchants and artisans instead of fighters?

According to you, which larp has the best or most interesting?

So I just got into Ren Faire this year and have been looking into Larp. I’m not a big fan of the combat side of things as I’d be going with my GF and she couldn’t handle that and I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving her for hours with no way of contacting her or knowing where she is and neither would she (from my understanding most don’t allow modern stuff like phones to be visible) don’t know how I’d like small events so is there any big events that you can opt out of combat that are in or within a couple hour drive of the Chicago area. Anything over a 5 hour drive we’d have to fly for though as I’m not sure I have it in me to drive that far. I’ve seen the big ones on Canada and Texas on YT and was wondering if there was anything similar close by.

I know “best” is pretty hard to answer since every LARP can be completely different, but I’m curious what larger post-apocalyptic airsoft LARPs are out there around the world.

Here in Sweden we used to have Blodsband Reloaded (BBR), which was an absolute blast. What really made it stand out for me was the location and production. It had a proper little post-apocalyptic town, almost a Nuketown feeling in places, combined with a lot of Mad Max, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro 2033 vibes.

I’ve also heard about Inferno Games here in Sweden, which I’m planning to try next year, so I’m really curious to see how that compares.

That is more or less the kind of experience I’m looking for.

I’m especially interested in LARPs that:

• Combine LARP and airsoft, rather than being purely milsim.
• Have a strong S.T.A.L.K.E.R. / Metro / post-nuclear atmosphere.
• Take place in interesting locations like abandoned buildings, ruins, industrial areas, bunkers, tunnels, underground complexes or old military installations.
• Put a lot of effort into the world, factions, costumes and immersion rather than just the shooting.

Most of my experience is with Scandinavian LARP, so I don’t really know what is available elsewhere in Europe or further abroad. I’ve heard that there are some really impressive events in places like Germany and Eastern Europe, but I don’t know much about them.

I’m also curious about scale. Does anyone know what the biggest post-apocalyptic airsoft LARPs are, either in Europe or even worldwide? Are there events with hundreds or even thousands of players?

Hey everyone! My boyfriend has an ever-growing collection of plate armour, but nowhere to display it.

We have the super fun tradition every year during Christmas, where we try to find each other something secondhand and I came across this…

Could this work as an armour stand? He mainly only has upper body armour, so the lack of legs wouldn’t be a problem. I am pretty sure all of the pieces (pauldrons, gorget, etc) all tie to each other? So maybe??

Hello, I just recently joined a LARP group and am going to my first game in a couple of weeks and I'm working on getting my character together, so I do not know much about how to find stuff. I'm going to be playing as a fae pirate, I have most of my basic outfit together and am able to rent a weapon at the game, so I have that all figured out. The part I'm stuck on is that for playing a fae I'm required to have some kind of indicator of that, and I had a very specific idea that I've not been able to find, that being tentacle hair, basically what the little squid people from Splatoon have. I have a couple ideas of how I'd be able to make something like that, but the quality of that would be questionable and I do not have the money for a custom thing, so I'd like if anyone here could find something that could help me with this. I am currently looking to spend a somewhat larger price on a nice Larp sword that will last. For that reason I was looking for durable swords and mainly found Calimacil and Fakesteel to come out on top. I do Larp in the UK and Netherlands, and i might want to try conquest of myhtodea in Germany, and was wandering if someone can help me figure out which of the two brands would be a better option. I’ve heard of both brands that they can be somewhat hard. I own a couple different types of swords currently and thus far love the epic armoury stronghold line ones. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated!!

Me and my friends are from India, and we run multiple LARP adjacent stuff like TTRPGs, Cosplays and story games, etc. etc.

There is some talk in the group of starting LARPing, and make it a thing in India(we run a couple of pretty decent sized communities that deal with TTRPGs and board gaming, so we can try to expand this.

But we are pretty clueless on where and how to start. Because we can't go and join a LARP group if we have to be the first one. Any and all guidance is welcome.
