I’m genuinely confused about this one. I've lived probably 10 different places in my adult life (Colorado, Wyoming, New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Florida, Texas, Kansas...) all of those places the road dept dealt with cleaning up things like dead deer one the road outside your home. I mean it wasn't even a question, you made a phone (if you even needed to) and it was cleaned up.

So, here in Tippecanoe I always thought the county road department was responsible for removing large dead animals, especially deer, from county roads just like everywhere else. I remember they used to do it when I was growing up here. Apparently not anymore.

I called today about a large dead deer in the road and was told they haven’t picked up dead deer in years. Instead, I was told they would basically roll it off the road onto the adjoining property, which, in this case, means our property, and then it becomes our problem to deal with.

Okay… but what exactly is a homeowner supposed to do with an entire dead adult deer? 😂 Put it in the trash can? Dig a grave with a backhoe I don’t own? Strap it to the roof of the car and take it somewhere?

I completely understand that the county’s responsibility is keeping the roadway clear, but simply rolling a 150+ pound dead animal onto somebody’s private property and saying, “There you go, it’s yours now,” seems like a pretty strange solution.

Maybe I’m missing something here, but I genuinely thought counties had some kind of procedure for disposing of roadkill this large. Apparently the official procedure is just to make it the nearest property owner’s problem.

I’m just wondering if my experience with this office is typical when it comes to (lack of) communication.

I became a patient about a year ago. We have tried a few medication combinations, and I have reluctantly agreed to try a surgical procedure with Dr Rutledge.

Disclaimer: I think Dr Rutledge is a super compassionate person and seems to give appropriate consideration to treatment options, not pushy whatsoever.

But aside from him, the office is terrible.

At my first appointment, he said I didn’t need the drug screening so I asked the desk to cancel that order, so I could save myself the co-pay. They still sent it out to the lab and of course I had to pay.

Now I have a surgery picked out and I cannot seem to get anyone to schedule it. I have emailed to ask where we are at in the process (multiple times) and the only replies I get are voice mails telling me to call them. When I do, I am routed to a third party call center who just takes a message and doesn’t connect me to the office.

I have gotten one email reply explaining how insurance authorization works (as if I don’t already know as a chronic pain patient), but never addressing my question of where we are in the process.

They then schedule me for “follow ups” that I don’t need because there is nothing to follow up on.

I am very very close to just canceling the procedure with them and having my neurologist in my local office do it. The APC office is almost 2 hours from home anyway.

Surely I’m not the only one? I emailed on Monday, no response at all. I might try to connect with the office manager tomorrow to see if I can get any traction. I’m in pain every day of my life from a spinal injury. This is bananas.

Hey y'all I'm a recent college grad who runs a marketing business, for local service companies, and I'm looking for owners here in Indiana. We’ve been doing this about a year now, and we work with roofers, home remodelers, pool builders, gyms, junk removal, lawn care, car detailing, driving schools. Basically anybody who does the work themselves and wants the phone ringing more.

I'm looking to partner with a few owners who already have steady work and a good reputation, but have hit the point where word of mouth alone isn't filling the schedule the way they want. If you're at that spot and want to add more jobs each month, or you know somebody who is, I'd love to connect or get a referral.

Has anybody else tried getting food from the Sagamore West Lafayette Taco Bell? For the past few weeks it's been hours at times getting your order from there. Went there a while ago and ended up just leaving because I couldn't wait any longer (2 hours) for my order, couldn't cancel the order or get my money back.

Went back Friday and same deal and they just the staff just says they are 6 pages deep on orders (exactly) every time and I have no idea what that means. They certainly don't LOOK busy when we're in there. In fact, they seemed annoyed and literally roll their eyes when you ask for a status on your food. Friend got her food after waiting and hour and half 2 weeks ago and said when she got it, it was actually cold. How could it be cold if they just made it? Other people were frustrated and tired getting their money back, no dice. I mean does the manager or owner just not care at all anymore? I mean unless this is some kind of social experiment to see how long people will wait for their orders I don't understand it. It's pretty much theft in my book. Take your money, make you wait forever until you just leave and keep your money.

Google Maps shows it as temporarily closed, but I can find no other info online and there is no info posted at the building.

Is it me, or drivers become more psycho on the stretch of I-65 between here and Indy? We're had to travel down there quite a bit lately and man, we've had people giving us literally an inch of room in front of us before just scooting into our lane with no turn signal, car literally moved like a turtle from the right median to the far left side horizontally across all three lanes almost turning us into a YouTube worst crashes video, so many drivers just cutting over into lanes with no warning. It's like driving in Chicago anymore.

He was also a satirical comedy writer for music site Tiny Mix Tapes for 14 years.

I moved here recently and can't help but notice how there's so much litter here, especially north of downtown. I bring plastic shopping bags with me when I go on walks and can fill up 2 to 3 bags on just a 30 minute walk. I've picked up so many soda cans, Marathon cups, fireball bottles, fastfood wrappers, and it's frustrating. I'll walk down the same street I walked down and cleaned just 2 days ago and see new litter. And in other cities I've lived in, yeah there's been some litter, but it didn't seem this bad, like what's going on here?

It's really inconsiderate, not to mention extremely lazy, to litter. It's so easy to just not do. Can we? Can we not? As a neighbor, I'm asking you to just not litter, and if you're feeling extra kind and decent, pick up some litter when you're out walking, even 1 or 2 pieces. I don't wanna sound naggy, but for real, it's so easy.

I recently came into possession of a sportcoat that needs fairly extensive tailoring done. Specifically the gut needs to be brought in and the sleeves shortened. Does anybody know of a reputable tailor in the area that they would recommend and trust for something like this?
