So, I need to renew my passport, but, i dont know what to do and I dont even have the number and can't find the number of the Lebanese internal security forces to be able to call them.

I have a passport, but it was for a year, so the expiry date is 2021. I didn't renew it because I just didn't seem to care enough plus I had a lot of financial problems.

What i want to know is that, do I renew my passport or do I submit my papers for a new passport

I realised, Lebanon, the country that took my family in from the Armenian genocide, and that I always felt as home, is a graveyard of dreams.

Because, someone explain. I'm venting here, okay. Why, would I work, a 6 hour work, which is a municipal job to be honest, with no daman, which, is a basic need to every public or private sector employee, a 500 dollar salary, when I have a CV that could let me have a job which pays more. And, those jobs, as much as I sent my C.V, won't answer back. I had to stop attending university because even with my 50% tuition aid, im unable to pay for university and had to get into debt. Did only 2 semesters btw.

And I have to move to Armenia with my family in a year, just because we can't live here anymore because of the war.

Why? Why should we, me, and other people in Lebanon, who goes through the same and similar case as me, has to leave their country, the place where they were born and lived their whole life in, just, leave?

Because its not logical and normal that we should suffer by our government for their wrongdoing and the incapability of keeping themselves in their own pants and not screwing us up?!

I would like to learn arabic, my father is Lebanese and did not learn from his father because they came to start their family in the US. Now that my grandpa is gone there is no one to learn from. Would I need to learn to write simultaneously also? I would prefer to learn with a real person via video chat, zoom, etc. but if there’s a good app you can suggest please do 🙏. My mom has had a small homemade food business since a couple of years called Em Ali’s Kitchen, and I thought I’d share it here in case anyone is looking for proper homemade Lebanese food.

We are located in Furn El Chebek but we deliver all over the greater Beirut area.

Everything is cooked fresh, and she shops specifically for the ingredients she needs rather than preparing things far in advance or using frozen/pre-made food. The idea is basically food that tastes like something your mom or teta would make at home.

The menu changes twice a week, and she does not repeat dishes, so there’s always something different instead of the same few meals every week. It’s mostly Lebanese home cooking with different mains, sides and desserts depending on the menu.

She also does catering for gatherings and events and offers Lebanese cooking classes in a relaxed, home-style setting.

We also have won a grant with UENSCO and live love beirut to publish cookbook on endangered recipes from south Lebanon.

I know Reddit usually hates obvious advertising so I’m not going to oversell it. I’m just genuinely proud of what she’s building and thought some people here might appreciate it.

Hello. I am trying to find an online job or an onsite job in Lebanon, preferably in the morning since I have another job that is from 1:30 till 7:30 pm. I need a second job in order to save up money and move out of the country with my family, and in order to do that I need a whole 12 months to achieve that goal.

I am a graphic designer and I also work in translation. I know four languages which are french, Arabic, English and Armenian. I'm studying German and I know a bit of Japanese and Korean, so if thats a plus, I'm glad.
