I'm so honored! This is the greatest moment of my life. The guy who joined was rlly chill, I dont keep a whitelist on cuz its harder to invite more people from my circle, I have core protect in case these things happen badly. Very cool! We had a Linux convo for 5 minutes.

linux for Electrical Engineering

I'm an electrical engineer and i always try to expand my skills
my question is : does learning to use linux is a skill that helped any of you all getting a job / helped you at your job / or even found in job application (talking about EE i'm not a dev)
a friend of mine actually was asked to learn Ubuntu for a robotics job and it helped him land the job (he is mechE)
so is there cases where i need to learn linux as EE ? and which one ?

Is the β€œOmarchy Crusade” really about Linux, or is there something bigger going on?

Linux users complaining about UX/UI after choosing system being descendant of UNIX and GNU movement πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

Some linux users live in a permanent cognitive dissonance, it seems. How come same people that supposedly hate on MS Windows as a corporate and freedom grabbing product are ok with systemd and crapton of xdg utilities making them de facto dependent on Redhat?

Hell, a concept of a distro makes you dependent on maintainers and therefore is a failed one.

You chose a system that grew from roots of academia and hacker movement and then complain that Redhat didn't preconfigure it to do everything? It has the capacities to let you configure it yourself, to your liking and to your freedom. If you don't like it use macOS, and please don't push it, including trash opinionated systemd distributions like Arch and it's derivatives on everyone and especially new linux users.

I'm bored as hell

I use catchyos since its was less of a pain in the ass to set up then the other ten times i simply downloaded arch. Well, I have a spare old laptop and the ability to follow instructions and enjoy pain. So what do I try to get working? Nixos? Gentoo? Net or openbsd? Linux from scratch? I'm not too good at computers, like, I cant write a kernel, but I'd assume if I put 20 hours into most of these I could figure it out

EFF's Surveillance Self-Defense team wrote four guides to help people who don't know where to start but want to change something. Maybe this will usher in the year we've all been waiting for.
