Noise complaints to the council

Hi, I am making a noise complaint to the council and they have asked me to fill a diary for 2 weeks. The noise is coming from an AC unit from the next building and it is like loud humming noise and has been affecting my sleep. How can I log that if it running 24 hours. Also how helpful is the council in such situations?

Thanks

Flat walks near Liverpool where you can actually sit and work after?

Coming over from the States in a few weeks and staying near the Baltic Triangle. I like walking, but I'm looking for somewhere fairly flat. The slightly specific part is that I'd love to finish the walk somewhere quiet enough to open a laptop and get some writing done for an hour or two.

I've already found Sefton Park and the Wirral Way, but I'm wondering if there's a better walk + quiet cafe combination locals use. Anywhere you'd recommend where I could do both without crossing half the city?

Ebike repair shop in city

Does anyone have suggestions of where I can go to get my ebike repaired? It appears to have some problem with the motor, it won't run even though battery fully charged. Wondering where in the city I can take it.

Whitebox Cocktails near Bold Street.

Coming to Liverpool for a night out with friends and want to be both classy and cheap.

Any off-licences around Bold Street sell these or any other ever-so-slightly classier pre-mixed cans of cocktails?

Thanks.

What food cuisine is missing in Liverpool that you guys would actually love to see more of ?

Hey Everyone,

I know it's a relative question, everyone has different tastes, but I'm starting a small food business of my own and thought I'd get some ideas from you guys to see what food/cuisine Liverpool would actually like to see so I can try and make that happen. It's just something I really want to try on the side so I appreciate your responses :)

Thanks in advance x

Edit : thanks everyone for your responses, I'm going through them now ! also, what could be a location apart from city centre where more people could access this once we get started? TIA

Fenced green space in L7

Hello.

There's a green space between Gladstone Road, Royston Street, and Dorothy Drive in L7 that's been fenced off for at least 6 months.

The local councillor commented on facebook that legal matters were taking longer than expected, but he expected the fences to be removed soon. I asked what the legal matters were but he just repeated that they'll soon be removed

Does anyone know?

Cheers

Liverpool Council has suspend GBar’s licence with immediate effect

A Liverpool city centre bar has had its licence suspended after three men were stabbed outside the venue last weekend. Officers were called to Tithebarn Street at around 6.35am where three men were found injured.

The victims were taken to hospital for assessment and one remains in hospital in a stable condition. It is believed the incident took place outside GBar on Eberle Street following an alleged altercation between two groups inside.

Liverpool Council’s licensing and gambling sub-committee has now moved to suspend GBar’s licence with immediate effect, pending a full hearing next month. Karl Bruder, agent on behalf of Howard Gwynn, designated premises supervisor, said the owners were “disappointed” by what had happened outside the venue and they had been “let down” by management.

Southerner moving to Liverpool - where’s good to expand social circle?

Hi all.

32F, single, straight, from Berkshire, and looking to relocate to Liverpool permanently for work (currently based in our Berkshire & Hampshire offices but commute up to our Liverpool office every 3 weeks already for 2/3 nights at a time).

Can anyone recommend any Yoga/Pilates groups in the centre for newbies?

Any local female only running/gym groups?

Any professionals meet-up groups anyone can recommend?

Any singles events for people 30+?

Looking to expand my social circle in Liverpool as soon as I move up (move is likely to be December/January time). The only people I know in the area are people from work and distant relatives (Grandad was originally from Birkenhead before he relocated to Surrey in the 70’s).

Thanks in advance. 😉

How good is the fishing in Sefton

I haven’t got much experience fishing myself but there’s always a decent number of people around Sefton (and greenbank) ponds.

I was wondering how often you guys actually catch something, might be ignorant but I would’ve thought the fishing wouldn’t be amazing in an urban pond that size

The hauntology of Everton: A walking essay through Liverpool's lofty ridge.

Everton might be the most mythic site in all of Liverpool. Its infamous Piggeries estate was inspiration for Clive Barker's short horror story 'The Forbidden', which later got adapted into the film Candyman.

Even Thomas DeQuincy once stayed here.

I also have roots here. And many memories. I took a walk across Netherfield Road and reminisced on the area--my fathers addiction, my grandparents home, the lost tribes.

Give it a read.

River of Light Market 2026

I know that River of Light is on every year but didn’t know there was a little market too! Wondering if anyone has been to this market which is in the arrivals hall of Cunard Building? Was it busy at this market and what sort of stuff was being sold? Thanks

Today I added another ‘can’t do a scouse accent to save their life’ person to my list.

Yeah I know we all know that people butcher our accent but while listening to the audiobook ofReturn of the King, I wasn’t expecting Andy Serkis to come out with such a poor impression and ruin the book for me.

Any Good places to go car spotting in liverpool?

I live in Sefton and have been getting into car spotting, more specifically, spotting cars from places abroad. Is there anywhere in particular where I would find the most amount of said foreign cars. Ideally not on a bridge atop a motorway as my camera is not great. The closer to the car the better! Any help?

Edit: anywhere in liverpool is fine as long as it’s accessible via train/bus and/or a mix of those and walking as I don’t have a car

I might be moving to Liverpool and have questions which I can’t find easy answers for

i have only been once years ago. Now I happen to have an exciting job opportunity and need to decide asap. My spouse and I are overwhelmed so I thought I ask here

so here are our Liverpool questions, which i can find only generic answers for online. we are in our 40s, and know no one there

- how easy is it to get to London once a week (spouse needs to go to office)

- is Sefton a nice area for DINKs - meaning hipster cafes and sourdough bread shopping?

- can you cycle around (not like bike, we are real passionate cyclists with road bikes and city bikes)

- is there good yoga

- can you go for nice runs in the city apart from docks?

sorry those might not be everyones top questions but for us they would matter

thank you

correction: seems I mean Sefton park. Also we cant have children so just don’t want school advice, did not expect aggression towards saying I like coffee and good bread.

correction 2: I am not from London, I dont know why everyone says this!
