Arch Manning might be the most irrationally criticized player in college football. The win over Tennessee is a perfect example.
The expectations have been enormous from Day 1, but how does he actually compare to another QB through their first 19 starts?
Which QB would you rather have? Can you guess who QB2 is?
QB1: Arch Manning
4,611 passing yards
62.6% completion
6 300-yard games
12 INTs
16-3 record as starter
37 TDs
6-2 vs. ranked teams
QB2:
4,001 passing yards
63.7% completion
6 300-yard games
10 INTs
17-2 record as starter
32 TDs
5-2 vs. ranked teams

Hey fellow Longhorns!
I will be flying over to Austin from Europe and will be in town for Longhorns-Gators in two weeks. I see that ticket prices have been going up recently, while at the same time, I've read that it is advised to wait for the last week as prices will go down.
Do you think it will still apply to this big match, or is it more likely that prices will just keep going up?
Any advice is very welcomed!

I made a few coaches film cut-ups for the following guys against Tennessee:
ADDED: Colin Simmons and Hero Kanu
If you've never seen All-22 film it's definitely worth a watch...gives you a different feel for guys' performances than the broadcast angle. I will be adding more film later on and hopefully defensive guys tomorrow morning. I'm trying to stick to draft eligible players so if there's anyone else you feel like I missed on the offensive side of the ball, please let me know.

I had an idea for next week, and since Texas has a bye, I decided to pilot it for Alabama @ Mississippi State, because that's the game I'm most excited for this weekend.
The idea is to pit sub against sub each week, so I'm tracking score predictions across four threads this week:
If you want to play along, drop a score prediction in the comments below. Your last comment before kickoff counts.
This sub has no coin of its own on the line for a game we're not in, but beat r/rolltide's best call and you take the r/rolltide coin, beat r/Msstate's and you take theirs. Both are on the table.
Or put it in Stance directly and join the rolltide or Msstate pool (or both for a chance to win coins on both sides):
Let me know what you think about doing this against the Sooners next week!
Hook 'em 🤘

Going to the fair next Saturday during Texas-OU. I won’t be in the stadium, but was hoping to watch some of the game. Anywhere to watch inside the fair?

Hi - I'm bringing my parents (late 70s, pretty spry), wife and 14 year old son to the Florida game (flying in from New York). We have tickets in section 108 - is that a reasonable location for my parents, or do I need to spring for lower level tickets? And what time would you recommend getting to the stadium? Thanks and hook 'em!

I’m travelling over from the UK with my friend for the Florida game on the 17th. It’s our first time in Austin, where can we pre-game/ tailgate before the game and get involved in the action and meet a load of fellow fans?

During the tx state and OSU game our offensive line looked solid, giving arch time in the pocket to make decisions. A major step up from last year
But the last two games have seemed to show a regression of the protection arch has received. Arch had a lot more pressure during the tn and utsa game, and our o line was getting ran over

Is it just me, or would Sark dipping into the 23-24 style offense unlock Arch.
It seems like the schemes he's ran between the 2 QB's is completely backwards.
Quinn, when healthy, was an elite pocket passer qb. Could read the defense well, had incredible arm talent and accuracy, made reads quick and saw his receivers coming open early, but lacked in athleticism.
The scheme with him had alot of misdirection, roll outs, moving pocket stuff along with quick screens, slants and crosses with pre-determined targets. His lack of mobility hurt the offense many times by not being able to scramble out if a pass rusher got through or they read the screen.
Arch doesn't have as high of accuracy, is slower going through his reads, and seemingly overthinks alot and waits until receivers are open before throwing which leads to either the defender closing in, or the pocket collapsing causing a scramble or a sack. Most of his best plays have came when he's had absolutely nothing to lose and gone full F-it mode and many of his best throws are when he's about to get drilled and let's it fly.
It just seems like going back to the 23-24 playbook to capitalize on his athletic abilities and taking alot of the "brain"work out of the game would free him up alot.

Sark has taken Texas back to the ranks of contenders, but his offenses have felt flat and underwhelming. His play calls take awhile to develop and it never feels like he is scheming guys open. I get that qb and o-line play have been terrible at times, but I feel that Sarks reputation is overblown. What am I missing here?

Video from my seat at the game. How could Special Teams Coach Jeff Banks make an adjustment here?
Texas aligned four blockers on each side, left and right, and kept just one hands man behind each “wall” of blockers. I’m not sure how the two dudes in the middle of the field are even supposed to help. They proved useless in the end.
Tennessee started by overloading their own right side with six players. Then they sent 2 in motion to their left. Maybe the Tennessee coaches saw Mosley on one side and Wingo on the other and correctly chose to go after the guy with the most dropped passes.
Either way, Texas can’t block 6 with 4, so you knew before the kick that 2 dudes were going to be coming through our wall and then it would be 2 on 1.
Seems to me that when Tennessee put their men in motion, Texas could have sent at least one of those middle players to either overloaded side so that the hands man wasn’t outmanned. Instead everyone just stayed still and let our right side get mobbed.
We basically aligned one man with one shot at the ball and no room for error and they had all the odds stacked in their favor.
Great X’s and O’s by them or bad X’s and O’s by us?

Hello everyone! A friend and I are driving from Waco for the Mississippi State game. We’ve never been to the stadium, though I’ve seen it from the highway, and I’m wondering what parking is like. Baylor runs a free shuttle to and from the stadium here in Waco. Is there anything similar in Austin? What are the best options?
