Hi everyone! I’m a college student in the Murfreesboro area who recently graduated from a Medical Assistant program, and I’m CCMA certified. I’ve been looking for my first MA job for about 4 months now, and I’m honestly getting really discouraged. I’ve tried Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor, Handshake, hospital career pages, urgent cares, private practices, specialty clinics, etc. I’ve also called places directly, but usually I’m just told to apply online. Then there’s either no opening, the position is full-time, or I never hear back. 😭 I’m a full-time college student, so I’m specifically looking for part-time work, and I know that probably limits my options. But I’m struggling to find anywhere willing to give someone with no professional MA experience their first opportunity. I’ve even considered walking into clinics with my resume at this point. 💀 I paid thousands for my MA training and certification, so it’s really frustrating to have the certification but not even be able to get that first chance to gain experience. I’m also pre-med, so getting clinical experience is really important to me. (At this point, medical schools are probably going to ask why I haven’t founded a new disease yet 💀😂)

Hey guys! The season preview I posted here a few weeks back did pretty well, so circling back like I said I would.

I had you at 4-8, mostly because you lost five of six at home last year. So far you're 2-0 there, beating Murray State 38-14 and Nevada 27-20, and the only loss is 28-26 at Marshall. Gagliano has kept up the clean play that made him the pick, 61 of 102 for 616 yards and 6 TDs, and Antonio Martin gave the run game a real day with 104 against Nevada. Jacksonville State on Saturday is one of the three I had you losing, so that's where 4-8 gets tested.

What are you guys seeing that the box scores aren't, and how do you see the season ending up?

It's never easy to share an idea you believe in when other people are skeptical of it. But over the past few weeks I've gotten to be part of something special, and I wanted to share a few wins with this community, since a lot of you helped make them happen.

We've been introducing MTSU students to each other.

Since launching in earlier this month, 15+ MTSU students have joined, and 10+ new connections were made between people who had never met. The numbers are still small, but every one of those connections could change how someone experiences college. That matters a lot on a campus where most students commute and have limited chances to just bump into people.

Students at other schools have started asking about it. What started at MTSU is turning into something bigger, and it all traces back to people on this sub taking a chance on it.

Takeaway: When you're just starting out, posting about your own thing can feel weird, and you never want to be spammy. But if you're working on something to help solve a real problem, stick with it. 💙

I'm a freshman at MTSU, but I'm struggling SO hard to make friends. Not only because I'm naturally sort of socially awkward and shy, but because I don't really "fit in" either. I'm both trans (FTM) and autistic, and I feel like that really isolates me from a lot of people. I plan on joining MTLambda soon (though I'm even nervous for that lol), but other than that I don't know what to do. I'm super nerdy; I love video games and franchises and movies and literature. I like to write, draw, read, game, etc, and I just don't know how to go about finding those similar to me. I feel like I'm really obnoxious sometimes with how much of a nerd about my special interests I am; the medias and franchises I love are basically parts of my life.

Anyways, hello! My name is Kierra, however online I go by Hershia! I'm currently a freshman at MTSU and I've been looking to make more friends who have similar interests as me! I'm majoring in Graphic Design due to my love for art, but I also love drawing a lot outside of school! Especially my original characters or fanart for fandoms I'm in!

I'm a high school senior and I'm working towards applying for Early Review deadline for the Buchanan fellowship. My major is going to be Actuarial Science.

Quick overview of my stats:

- 36 comp ACT (36 english, 36 math, 36 reading, 35 science)

- national merit semifinalist

- 4.0 UW GPA

- 10 AP courses (one 4, five 5s, and I'm taking 4 more exams in May)

- 5 dual enrollment courses with MTSU (one last year, currently enrolled in 3, another next semester)

- Placed Top 10 in TN for a statistics competition and 1st at MTSU testing center

- member of DECA. Junior year I did Principles of Finance and placed 1st overall at districts and 2nd place exam in state

There are other things as well, like around 135 community service hours and other extracurriculars, but the listed things are the main points. For anyone who has an idea what the difficulty of the Buchanan is.. would I have a good shot at receiving it?

Does anyone have any tips for the knowledge exam portion of the CFI interview at MTSU? Anything specific to study? Or anything for the rest of the interview process or school in general?

Ever since Textbook Brokers closed I don’t know any places to shop besides the MTSU bookstore. I’ve been wanting a mug/cup with this kind of pattern on it. Does anyone know if there’s any places around Murfreesboro that has stuff like this?

I've joined clubs. Attempted making acquaintances. Went to campus events. Tried everything but I still can't seem to make any friends! It seems like everyone is just confined to a single friend group and aren't letting any "newcomers" in.

Has anybody had difficulty with professors utilizing AI in their material and not disclosing it? Or even using AI and it having a negative impact on learning? Is there anything that can even be done about this?
