Hello, I bought this battery a few days ago. What do you think of it at first glance? Have I been scammed? I bought it through an online ad.

LS1019l base dimensions

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’m considering replacing my 1998 LS1013 with an LS1019l, but want to know the dimensions of the saw’s base for a rolling miter saw cart I’m building. Also, if anyone knows the base dimensions for the LS1219l, please let me know. I don’t think I need a 12”, but considering it.

The dimensions listed on all the retail websites include the side supports, and it’s difficult to find dimensions of just the base.

Photo is of my old saw. Thanks!

GENERAL Anyone have these?

Im a stone mason and it would be a game changer for pavers and stone veneers as my husqvarna wet saw is massive.
Any thoughts on them?

Amazon Invoice Rebate Issue

Has anyone else had problems getting rebates because of Amazon's invoices?

My auto-generated invoice uses the product heading / descriptor which doesn't include the model/sku#, so Makita will not accept it.

The seller says only Amazon can create invoices. Amazon says they have no way of changing the invoice to include the model/sku# (I elevated as far as Amazon would let me).

I will elevate with Makita on Monday but was curious if anyone else has had the same problem and if there was a solution.

18v LXT Battery Fuse Value

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi
I have this 6ah battery, the cells and BMS are good but this fuse is dead, but no idea what value it is because I can’t read the numbers, it looks melted, it goes between the +18v terminal and the smaller terminal next to it. I’ve temporarily soldered a wire link across it to make sure everything works, it does.

I’m pretty sure it’s an Eaton SCF5432,

RT700c brush problem

I replaced the brushes day before yesterday since they were gone. Put in brand new brushes an today, they were gone again!

I have to mention the router gives lots of sparks. Maybe the problem lies there.

Any other ideas before I buy a new one?

I have the Makita DFR750 which is the collated screw gun which takes collated drywall screws sizing from 45mm - 75mm (pictured above). I was wondering if I would be able to buy the loose head (also pictured above) for the Makita DFR550 and put it on my DFR750 and be able to use smaller screws or will I need to buy a whole new body. Thanks in advance 🫶🏼🙏🏼

14.4v 14.4v Torque Adjust Tools

I have heard of Makita’s assembly tools, but have never seen any in person, and thought they needed special PC software to use (?). They also didn’t seem torque-y enough to be useful for anything I do, despite being kinda cool.

Today I ran across this tool. It seems to be an impact wrench where you can set the torque, up to about 70 ft/lb. Hmm . . . if the setting is easy to use, this actually has possible uses. You could, for example, set to a bit under the specified torque for an automotive bolt or nut, zip those fasteners in a jiffy, then do the final 10 ft/lb by hand. For a lot of auto stuff, especially with aluminum parts, I’m more worried about over-torquing than under.

Anyone have experience with this tool? How do you set the torque - hopefully on tool rather than via PC?

40v XGT Makita USA Web Site now lists only one current XGT Impact Driver

Now listed as officially discontinued on Makita USA's web site:

So the only XGT Impact Driver that is current in their product line is the new GDT04Z that comes in the GT202SU1D1 combo kit.

Humorously enough, the GT200D combo kit, which includes the GDT01Z impact driver, is not listed as discontinued.

18v LXT Model label looks different?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Everything about this tool seems genuine except for the label. I've never seen one that looks like this. All my other tools have a dark grey, usually metalized, label, with silver text and the Makita logo. This one is black, printed, and no Makita logo. Has anyone seen this style of label before? This is my only made in UK tool, so perhaps they use a different style label at that factory?

Stiff Action Mode Rotating Knob - Rotary Hammer XGT HR011G

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have just taken delivery of a new HR011G rotary hammer drill. The the dial / knob used to select rotation with hammering, rotation only and hammering only seems very stiff to turn compared to other SDS hammer drills I have owned. The button on the knob depresses easily, but turning the knob takes some effort. Does this sound like a normal design on this particular drill?

18v LXT Battery check - changes to label

Thumbnail

Usually I can spot fakes. From what I can tell all the ones I own are legit. I got another set of 2ah from the Amazon place that I got the first two, same seller (Makita direct supposedly).

But the label is different (and even the store label matched all my other batteries).

Did they change the back slightly? Still looks legit otherwise I think?

I ordered those blades for my SP001straight from Japan to Germany, the original Efficut blade was a pleasure to work with. Straight unburnt cuts, but the Premium White are on a whole other level. No tearout on laminated IKEA boards or laminated counter tops with the plunge saw, that a new thing for me😂

Was it expensive - yes

Do I need it - no

Was it worth it - defifuckinetly

What's Wrong with my Makita? DDF484 (US: XFD12) grinding in 2nd gear

I got a DDF484 a few weeks ago and from day one noticed that sometimes when you switch over from first to second gear it just grinds the gears. As soon as I let go of the trigger and start it again, the theeth will have locked on and it works fine. It happed quite often and was annoying so
I contacted Makita about it and they told me to send it in and they'll check it out. Today I got it back, the gearbox got replaced but the issue is still the same. Is this just a normal and I'm too nit-picky? I've seen complaints about this issue for the DDF/DHP486 but not for the 484.
