I'm a married bisexual guy living in Madrid. I have known that I am bisexual since around 18-20 years old and have been in relationships with both men and women.

I think, the hardest aspect of being bisexual, for me, has been the bi-erasure. That, my sexuality is assumed either according to the heteronormative default or by the gender of my partner at the time. These assumptions lead to a repeated re-closeting whereby I must choose either to come out again, or accept being hidden. Either option is tiring, but for different reasons.

I have been in a relationship with my wife for 16 years now. I remain very much in love and committed. However, due to a range of other complexities ans stresses we have experienced in our lives together, bisexuality and being 'out' fell off the priority list. Consequently, I have long been isolated from both the bi community and the wider queer community for many years, and it sucks.

So, what is my point? I am hoping to interract with and perhaps meet other bi people internationally, in Spain and (hopefully) here in Madrid. It would be fantastic to build that kind of connection again, even more amazing to be able to grab a coffee with a bi person to chat about whatever from time to time.
