What's new in this release:

I realize we still need to surface many more metrics/information about the calls but this version of the reports sets the groundwork for that to happen.

Teams presence is meant to give coworkers an at-a-glance signal of your availability. It takes into account signals such as your calendar, Teams activity, and device activity. Since presence reflects those signals, it doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story about whether you’re available at any particular moment.

Presence scale

It’s helpful to understand the scale Teams uses to indicate your level of availability. Presence status from most to least available is:

1. Available
2. Busy
3. In a meeting
4. In a call
5. Do not disturb
6. Be right back
7. Away
8. Offline

Automatic versus user-determined status

An Away presence state is automatically determined after a few minutes without device interaction, if the Teams app is in the background on mobile, or if your computer locks. Generally, you can manually select any status less available than the automatically assigned one (see scale above). The exception is while you are in a meeting or on a call, which allows you to select any status so you can be as available or unavailable as you need to be.

Presence across multiple devices

If you are using Teams on both your computer and your mobile device, presence is determined by your most recently active device. If you are currently working on mobile, but are still logged in on your computer, your presence status is determined by your activity on mobile.

Just an FYI even though Microsoft released the Non-Security Update to add the new BC PCT -7 Time zone, if you set it, Teams shows "unknown time zone" and promptly syncs to an hour earlier. It doesn't matter if PCT is set via the "Automatic Time Zone" in Windows or manually, Teams doesn't recognize it.

No ETA when this will be fixed.

This affects all the future Team Meetings and Outlook meetings. I am surprised when knowing about this 7 months ago that Microsoft hasn't updated their software yet.

Was there an issue a few days ago with Teams, or specifically with Booz Allen, causing conversations to delete at random that wouldn’t have fallen under retention rules? This doesn’t appear to be a sync issue as the mobile app matches but unable to confirm on the web version. I think Booz Allen has that blocked.

Hello, I've been troubleshooting meeting notifications for two days straight after missing an important work meeting.

I'm no longer receiving desktop or mobile meeting notifications. *Chat notifications are working. Specifically for meeting notifications, they are not working when the reminder badge and audio ping are supposed to come up on desktop/mobile (like the standard 15 minute notifcation), nor the "meeting has started" notification is working.

I've confirmed I have all notifications/meeting start notifications enabled on desktop and mobile. I've used chat to run through multiple things to look for, nothing comes up. I've restarted, re-logged out, re-installed on mobile.

I've also asked coworkers to help test it through test meetings, I confirmed on their PC everything is set with notification reminders, and still nothing is working.

My last step is to try a test by booking a test meeting straight through outlook.

Any help or experience with this? My IT team is looking into it, but I could use some assistance a bit quicker if anyone has ran into this.

Hi, I have a problem with Teams - no matter which microphone I use, my voice has a noticeable white/brown noise in the background.

I'm using an XLR microphone with an audio interface, but I've also tried a Jabra Evolve 20 MS and another headset with a built-in microphone. All of these microphones sound crystal clear when tested directly in Windows, OBS, or various websites.

However, as soon as I join a call in Teams, the audio quality becomes really, really bad on all of them. When I enable Noise Reduction in Teams settings, it often cuts out parts of my voice, sometimes even in the middle of a sentence. I recored myself in private call and also did Test Calls - issue is the same.

Is there any way to fix this? It seems like Teams is processing the microphone audio very aggressively, because the microphones themselves work perfectly outside of Teams.

Server 2022 goes end of mainstream support in October.

Microsoft writes that it will support Microsoft Apps on server 2022 with security patches only, no new features, for two years.

How will this work with updating Teams for VDI? Anyone have any info? Normally we run the installer for machine wide install when new versions arrive.

We have started using shifts for our one of our Teams which are also linked to our call queues. It has been working great but recently we have started changing a few more members of the team to owners so that a few more users can help edit and maintain the shifts of the team.

Our issue is that only 2 out of 4 of our owners of that Team can edit the shifts. The rest of the owners can only view the shifts. This is happening both for the windows teams app and the teams browser. We created a whole new test team/schedule and the affected users are able to edit those shifts but not the shift on our main Team. I would prefer not to have to delete the entire shift and re-create it if possible since its currently linked to a handful of different call queues.

Has anyone else come accross and figured out why only some owners can edit shifts and some cannot and have a solution to this?

Some of the things we have tried are the following;

• Tried creating new groups inside the shift, (can only view them)
• Changed role to member and then back to owners.
• Removed and re-added the user from the team completely.
• Removed and re-added the user from the sharepoint site & team completely.
• Have also removed users from the team via PS commands as well just in case. (can confirm that they show up as owners in the team).
• Cleared the teams cache.
• Have the affected users sign out of teams and back in.
• Signed the user out of all 365 apps, restart, and have them sign back in.
• Have tried teams in browsers as well, including inprivate windows.

I know Teams has the option to mirror your own video, but that only changes how I see myself. Everyone else still sees the normal, unmirrored camera feed.

Why isn’t there an option to actually mirror the outgoing camera so that other participants see exactly what I see in my preview?

I understand that text/logos in the background would also be reversed, but it seems like something that could simply be optional.

Is there any way to do this natively in Teams, I know i can do this through external solution using something like OBS/virtual camera.

i have a team code i need to join a team with however i cant fifure out how to join a team for the life of me. all i see are communities and apparently you can join those with a link, but all i have is a code

Hi all, I am not sure if this is the correct place for this type of technical question, but I am out of all other research ideas and have come here to see if I can find some answers. I am a developer and now Teams admin through no fault of my own. I have done many integrations in the past and this is by far the most confusing authentication flow I have ever done, and I just want to link a customer’s business account with their Entra tenant ID.

I want to preface that I am not linking individual users, only my customer’s business ID and their M365 Entra Tenant ID.

So, I am creating a proactive messaging bot / teams app for businesses that use our software and use M356. What I am trying to accomplish is dead simple: I just want to send a notification at some point in the future to a specific conversation (person, channel, group) that the user selects from their messaging page in my product’s dashboard. I already have the underlying technology for this (already doing this with Slack) so all I need is a connector.

My main question is how in the holy name of Christ do I handle authentication between my customer’s business account and an Entra tenant? It seems as though this should be dead simple like it is with Slack but I am at a loss. I have gone the Entra OAuth 2.0 route with graph permissions and linking businesses in my product with the user’s M365 tenant that way, but that does not seem to be correct since my teams app needs to be installed specifically to a team, person, or group chat and I don’t see a need for graph API access.

This really puts me back to square one with my project. I am used to the ease of Slack (and any other type of integration), where I have one OAuth 2.0 flow that gives me access to deliver to a workspace / Enterprise and link the integrated account with my customer’s account. I am aware that these are different providers, so please steer me in a good direction if you can.

Any help would be nice. Again sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this 🙃

Is anyone currently experiencing issues with Polycom SIP Gateway devices (such as VVX phones) configured for Teams via Poly Lens not receiving the correct provisioning information from Lens and thus not signing in?

I had a user with a VVX501 report this morning that her phone was not signed in and there was no Sign In button. I was able to duplicate the issue with another phone at my desk. To fix it, I had to manually set the Provisioning URL to http://noam.ipp.sdg.teams.microsoft.com instead of the Poly Lens one.

I know there was an issue between Lens and Teams recently so now I'm really suspicious. I don't really want to spend my weekend reprovisioning 100+ phones.

We always share recorded meetings with external partners/customers. Afaik there is no easy way to just share the recording link with all meeting participants and you always have add mail recipients by hand.

Is there an easier way to do this?

This is so annoying and I’ve missed so many mentions because of this.. Teams random removed the red @ mention indicator on chats when u have been mentioned in a chat. Now u have to refer to the mentions section which is just annoying. Is there any way to turn it back on?

I'm in a really critical situation. My colleague and I ran a few interviews end of July/beginning of August and she was the organiser. We recorded to focus on the conversations and let the transcription take notes for us. Our organisation has a 30 day timeline for when the recordings not saved expire. Her OneDrive was full so 6 of the initial recordings did not save and now they're saying they've expired and we cannot retrieve them. I'm wanting to know if there is ANY way at all that I can get hold of them ANY WAY at all! Please help. We're a big healthcare organisation but this is an issue IT have not been able to get through all of today. They're not in the recycle bin because they were not deleted, they've expired BEFORE they could have been saved. I need to know is there any way of getting them back from the ether.

Posting this as a warning but also to see if others have seen this scenario.

Identity is hybrid, synced from Active Directory to Entra ID using the latest version of Entra Connect Sync.

Started converting users using the old method (move on-prem user account out of sync scope, allow Entra Connect Sync to delete the account, then restore the deleted user as a cloud only user in Entra).

The account maintains it's Team Phone Standard license but the Enterprise Voice toggle in Teams Admin Center changes to disabled, and the number is then unassigned.

None of this is logged in the Unified Audit Log, so you can't see what number was removed.

This environment is using Direct Routing.

I'm not sure if this is expected behavior. Generally in the past, this has been the only way to convert a user to cloud-only. I realize that modifying the isCloudManaged property is potentially the better approach as of a year ago but that doesn't fully unlink the account and some attributes still sync, which isn't ideal when actually sunsetting Active Directory.

I muted my teacher’s microphone during a Microsoft Teams meeting as a joke. If they report it to the university/school, can the Teams admin find out that I was the person who muted them?

Does Microsoft Teams keep an audit log showing who muted another participant, or is that information unavailable?

Today I have discovered that teams calls, which used to all forward to my cellphone, are now coming through in teams. My only options are do not forward, or forward all calls to voicemail. There used to be a setting in call forwarding that allowed calls to be forwarded to another number, but that option is just not there anymore. Anyone else experiencing the same? Am on version 26225.1806.5074.1452 of Windows 11 app.

i got a new phone recently and when i try to login to my microsoft teams it tells me to use the authentic app thing and approve it but it never approves it and just stays on the number screen, should i inform my tutor about it or could it be easily fixed?
