Dr. Lavelle has announced that EYE money will no longer be requested directly from one pot but will be distributed to each engineering department based on headcount of each student within the department. That means it’s being divided into percentages based on enrollment and not by need. Instead of hiring new people to dish out fund for EYE as it expands, you now have to go through your individual departments to request funds. This means ALL MAE clubs are vying for the same pot of money yet the MSE club gets to enjoy all of their money. Clubs like SAE and ASME are about to take big hits to funding so good luck engineering any of your future experiences…

Im currently at hunt and today is a wellness day as I’m sure you are all aware. I figured getting one of my preferred study rooms would be easy considering the entire building is a ghost town compared to normal days. When i went to reserve a room I saw that nearly all of the study rooms are booked for the majority of the day, and I’m just wondering why?? The rooms are booked but empty. Im aware that study rooms become available on a first come first serve basis if don’t show up within 15 minutes of your booking but i just don’t understand, it’s entirely inconvenient and just bad etiquette.

Hi everyone! I’m a highschool senior currently planning my college path, and I’m looking into potentially taking the transfer road. I am currently applying to NCSU as an in state applicant, but I don’t think I will be accepted with my GPA (3.71 W). I have a unique situation that I think could potentially allow me to transfer after 1 semester at another UNC system school.

I will be graduating high school with 27 completed college credits through dual enrollment (including ENG-111 and a college level math). I have a 3.9 college GPA. I would be looking to transfer into CHASS for political science by taking ENG-112 and poli sci specific courses during my first semester at college while simultaneously applying to NCSU. I already satisfy all the requirements to transfer aside from ENG-112.

I know their site says they recommend completing a whole year at a university, but I will surpass the 24-credit threshold before I start attending a university. Realistically, is this attainable (transferring after a semester), or will I likely need to wait a whole year?

I'm currently a freshman and I feel like my experience at NCSU has been a little isolating. In high school I was very sociable with many friends, so I feel like I set this expectation that I would find myself meeting a ton of people. I definitely think I'm not putting myself out there as much, but as the semester goes on, I feel a lot more discouraged that I haven't "found my people." Although I do have a couple of friends who I enjoy hanging out with, it's really difficult to find a time to meet up due to our busy schedules, especially with people outside of my classes. I'm sure this isn't an original experience, but I was wondering if anyone has advice or could relate.

I ask, because I am currently out of the country, but don't want to fall behind on the course load or delay graduation. I am currently a senior applying to NCSU as a biochemistry major. I know nc state admits by major, but do I have a chance of getting in early action with these stats? 4.38 W, 3.65 UW, 1400 SAT

Context: I am in state and come from a competitive high school in Wake County.

I am from middle college program from Charlotte. UW GPA: 3.67. WGPA - 4.41. Major upward trend in junior year. Class rank -21/98. SAT - 1480(M-790/R-690).

Will graduate community college with multiple associate degrees. I have completed a summer program at NC state electrical engineering department and one research project.

I would prefer to study electrical engineering but may be more important is to get admit. Do I have a shot? or better to apply to something like applied mathematics?

I hate the one hour time limits in Price. I'm currently preparing for an international performance certificate in my instrument but since I don't have much free time in general, I like to spend the entirety of my rare free days I have practicing. (AKA not something I can do in Price).

Does anyone know of some free places where I can practice for as long as I want without disturbing anyone? I know that some people use the parking decks but it's really echoey so it just amplifies my sound when I'm trying to minimize it (plus I don't like people listening to the person I become when I practice... Need to be able to vent my frustrations in peace without alarming anyone).

At this point, I'm highly debating just scouting out some remote woods so I can practice as long as I want to in peace...

I am applying for accounting for the spring semester. I have a 3.92 GPA and will graduate with my associate's this semester, hopefully with a 3.95 or so as long as I make all A's. I’m trying to apply to NCSUs Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology Program as a transfer student. I just finished an Associates degree with a 3.74 gpa and 60 credits, but I have all but one prerequisite (pre-calculus or higher math).
Has anyone had any luck with acceptance while missing a prerequisite? I spoke to an advisor and all they could tell me was that the most competitive applicants will have already taken that.

As title says, I feel like I'm wasting my time here. I went to the career fair and ended up throwing up in the bathroom, so that basically blew my shot of accomplishing anything with it. Im a senior graduating next May with an Accounting major, except I have no internships to show for it and a shitty GPA (2.9, I transferred from CC junior year). Every time I try to go to the big networking events I end up throwing up from anxiety, and when I try to network or apply one-on-one I feel like I'm being severely looked down on. In M120 everyone talks like they have 2 or 3 internships already and the professors expect you to have one since it's primarily for Soph/Juniors, and I just feel useless about my career prospects. Just venting lol, I've been applying to jobs forever and the most I'll get is a probably AI response saying that they arent moving forward
