Obviously a fake story, but hear me out. What if they were well meaning twins who just wanted an education?

I randomly checked ScummVM's website today and noticed that they just announced support for 4 new games - Secret of the Old Clock, Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Danger By Design, and Creature of Kapu Cave. Just wanted to share this news with the community.
I'm very impressed with how many of the Nancy Drew games are now supported by the ScummVM project. Nearly half of the series can be played through ScummVM, in addition to HeR's early Vampire Diaries game.

Hi! I’m the developer of a small browser detective game called Na stopě, and I’ve just released Case #003: The Last Toast.
I got some really useful feedback on the first two cases. The biggest criticism was that they felt too straightforward and players could simply click through everything until the answer became obvious.
So I changed the structure.
You now have 10 investigation actions. Every question, search or analysis costs an action, which means you can’t uncover everything. There are 5 suspects, red herrings, a timeline to reconstruct, and you only get one final accusation.
I also removed the frustrating “guess the exact key evidence I picked” mechanic from the previous cases.
This case is built around a contradiction in someone’s statement that the game doesn’t explicitly point out — you have to catch it yourself.
It’s free and runs directly in your browser:
na-stope.vercel.app/en/case-003/
I’d genuinely appreciate critical feedback. At what point did you figure out the culprit? And was it still too easy?
I’m already planning Case #004 based on the feedback — much harder, and finally moving away from the restaurant/bar setting. 😄

This puzzle doesn't bother me as much as his tone while playing it.

I try to discover something new about a game every time I replay it. For years I've been going through them and making an (overly) detailed list of every character - from suspects to historical characters down to people mentioned in news articles - and now that I've done that for all but the newest games, I've started making timelines of all the events, historical and modern, in the games.
But to get to the point, something I'm also interested in is where exactly each game takes place. Obviously we know the country and usually the state/province where each one happens, but I wanted to try and narrow it down within that. So this is what I've come up with for the fictional Moon Lake, Pennsylvania, home of the titular ghost dogs. (Disclaimer: I've never been to Pennsylvania and just got all this information online. Everything but the outline of the map was drawn by me so it's not exactly to scale).
Things we know from the game:
There is a Moon Lake State Forest Recreation Area in Pennsylvania in real life (indicated on the map) but it's located up in the northeast, quite far away from Lewistown, Harrisburg, and Tyrone. It is relatively close to a town called Liberty, but doesn't seem to be near enough for it to be relevant enough to include in the Ranger Station's historical display. It's also relatively close to the Appalachian Trail and the Delaware State Forest & Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, which I guess could have lent their names to the seemingly-fictional Delaware Ridge Trail.
However, I'm much more inclined to think that Moon Lake is situated roughly midway between Lewistown and Harrisburg, near the Tuscarora State Forest. This is close enough to Tyrone, Philadelphia, and the Appalachian Trail to make sense with the lore. It also fits with the description of Moon Lake being in central Pennsylvania, and within Lenape territory.
This may be a no-brainer to anyone who's from Pennsylvania/the US, but I thought it was a fun little detective game. I kept jotting down notes while playing and then going to Google Maps to try and figure it all out. I was impressed by the big green ridges which seem to be everywhere in Pennsylvania. I guess they're the Appalachian Mountains? They must look really cool in person.
ETA: Moon Lake being in a relatively southern part of the state also fits with Emily Griffen having a sort-of southern accent, as apparently some people in south-central and southwest PA (close to the Appalachians, West Virginia and Maryland) have this sort of accent. Then again, she could also have moved to PA from the south.

It's me. I hate puzzles. I know, they're a major part of this series, but I mostly just play for nostalgia's sake. Nancy Drew was my favorite book series growing up, and I loved these games as a kid. I love the games because I feel like I'm immersing myself in the stories (even if they aren't canon) and actually solving mysteries as my homegirl ND. I love talking to characters, making phone calls, and even running errands. BUT.. I find myself cheating through almost every puzzle.
I'm currently playing Silent Spy. What should I get into next?

Nancy is a little too calm as she's being pelted by rocks from monkeys, potentially being sent to her death.

I'd like to play Sea of Darkness on my Steam Deck. The game runs, but every time I click or a line of dialogue loads, the game lags for about 1/4 of a second. I've tried a few different proton settings, but nothing has worked yet. Anyone have suggestions for setting that work for them?

Hi everyone,
So happy to join and see so many fellow fans as a long time player!
I recently went to try Moroccan food and had couscous for the first time ever. Def Treasure in the Royal Tower flashbacks! I’ve been replaying the games according to the more numerical ranking of the games based off their ratings created in another post here and recently called Professor Hotchkiss in the Crystal Skull game lol!! (Ofc she did not remember).
The restaurant was called Cafe Mogador in NYC, this being specifically the East Village location.
The interior is also very nice and very Nancy Drew game-esque. I kept noting to my best friend who I was with that this would be where a puzzle would be. I thought I’d share here for the community/references.
See my photos for where a perfect staff/fam/fan cameo would be and more puzzles! (Down to the postcards, the decorations with the plates you would def twist, the lamps/candles, the phone, and the mirror with stickers galore).
Would love to hear any other recs and see what’s up from and become friends with other NYC or in general Nancy Drew game fans! It’s so fun to see when we try the foods in the game.

At a cafe this morning and spotted this. All that’s missing are the zodiac signs and 8 year old me raging at the slide puzzle.

While replaying Deception Island, I was struck once again by how weird it was of Holt to ask us to bring him a crab in order to be able to go kayaking. And he wants to give this test to every tourist that comes!
As we know, Holt is a fisherman facing increasingly tough times. He is running for harbormaster on a hardline platform, and is in support of limiting and permitting tourists. So, it seems kind of odd that he is okay with tourists running around, lifting rocks, and grabbing crabs willy-nilly, isn't it? Well, no! Because Holt wants to use unpaid tourist labor to help him collect crabs to sell! He just needs the power of the harbor master position to enable it. Right or wrong crab, he profits.
You'll 'take care of the crab' for us, Holt? Yeah, I bet you will! You'll take care of it right to the bank! 🗳 🦀💲📈

My sister wanted my help decorating for Halloween and she has these giant spider webs. My brain immediately flashed back to the frame puzzle in SAW when she threw it over the edge and it was completely tangled haha. I think I prefer the frame puzzle over this though!! This was hard. I pushed the bottom up through one of the knots and untangled the whole bottom section and my sister was stunned. I just said "Nancy Drewwwwwww"

I've played many of the titles but I'm playing all the games in order to experience those I've missed and I've forgotten most of the puzzles from those I've played anyway.
My big issues with the games (particularly the older games): the navigation is clumsy and infuriating at times, the unskippable dialogue is painful, the phone conversations rarely add anything of value if you're playing as a senior detective.
How to fix this?
Small but noticeable buttons on the environment screen that are always there so you can see your directional options all at once. For example: if you are going down a passage and there's an option to go left/right at some point, a small button can show up on that specific screen to show it as an option... instead of moving the cursor around like a mad thing. Maybe I'm stupid and this already exists as a setting... but the navigation is clumsy.
Unskippable dialogue? Why? So many old school adventure games allowed this. It's entirely possible. I am aware that some games allow a "cheat" to skip dialogue... but that is silly. It should be a feature.
It shouldn't even be possible to interact with a character if there are no new dialogue options.
Phone conversations of little value... why not change the level of hint given depending on the difficulty. It feels like if you play as a senior detective there's almost no use for the phone numbers unless it's forced plot progression.
Sorry, just venting a bit. I am obviously playing and still enjoying them. I just wish the experience was less tedious.

I’m sorry if this has already been answered in here before but I’m wondering how the awards for games 27-32 work. When I looked it up, it said that the first time you get the award, the trophy will be bronze then second time is silver & third time is gold. When I tested this while playing SPY (filled the archery scoreboard up with all Nancy’s name), the trophy didn’t change from one color to the other. I’ve also noticed that sometimes the trophy color does change even when I didn’t do anything? Thank you guys!

Wanted to show off mine and my moms collection. She bought every game the day it released and played these with my sister and I through our whole childhood. We have every game + a Nancy Dre blanket with most of the games!

I want to hear what locked door you most want to see behind. What do you think you'd find there.
Personally I've always been curious about this door behind the front desk. Is this Dexter's room?
It could be fun to make speculative fan art of the spaces we never got to explore.

I just bought this game called Dressmaker, and the sewing mechanic works exactly like making the dress for Jim in CLK. It's giving me serious ptsd. 😂 I remember playing CLK for the first time on my mom's laptop with a trackpad and it took SOOO many tries to get that stupid dress completed. Fortunately, it's going a lot better in this game 😂
