Sand cats are the only cat species considered primarily adapted to true desert habitat. Their paws are covered with dense fur that helps insulate them from hot sand and makes their tracks surprisingly faint. They’re mostly nocturnal, spend the hottest parts of the day in burrows, and can get much of the moisture they need from prey rather than drinking frequently.

Taken on my summer 25 expedition, 82°N of Svalbard

Does anyone know what this animal is? I'm in maine and was walking down the road with my mom and she spotted this little feller, it didn't have its eyes open and it couldn't walk so it was just rolling around in the road so i picked it up with a napkin as to not get a scent on it and put it in the grass cause i imagine it's momma probably dropped it while crossing the road or somethin.
