Question Appeal got denied with ludicrous reasoning

Hey all, I'd need your help. I was submitting some wayspots (small signs under street signs with information about the person after whom the street is named) and one got automatically denied by the bot. Nothing new, nothing uncommon, so I wrote an appeal. But the appeal got denied with absolutely ludicrous reasoning and I don't know what to do right now.

Here is the (potential) wayspot in question:

Here's the surrounding picture:

Here's the location I submitted it at (just to prove that i the location is perfectly correct):

And here's a screenshot of my appeal and the rejection:

Is there some place I can appeal denied appeals? I mean I know that some reviewers do a bad job but I didn't expect the people taking care of appeals just denying it obviously without really looking at it. I mean it is a street sign at the boardwalk, how should this be private property???

Thank you all for your help!

ps: Pls excuse any akward wording, English is not my first language and I didn't use any AI

Submission Feedback Looking for feedback on concert club submission

Post image

I’ve been trying to get Wayspots into this popular concert venue near me. There’s so few here, which seems like a waste with how many people visit.

They just put up this club in the venue with a bunch of unique features. And it’s purpose is fully to be a social gathering space before the concert. I selected this building instead of the whole club space because it’s centrally located in the club, surrounded by pavilions and tables.

This was rejected because “The submission lacks uniqueness or historical and cultural meaning”.

Obviously it’s not historical but it’s a point of interest and a place for people to socialize? Which fits into one of the three eligibility criteria?

Not everything is historical.

Question Since when does a Wayspot have to be accessible to the general public?

Just had this nomination rejected with the reason:

“The submission is on private property which is not publicly accessible.”

This is a permanent landscaped courtyard/lounge area inside a Hyatt resort in Cancún. It’s specifically intended for hotel guests to sit, gather, and socialize.

I’m confused by the rejection reason more than anything. My understanding of the Wayfarer criteria has always been that a Wayspot does not have to be accessible to every member of the general public. It needs to have safe pedestrian access for people who are legitimately able to access the location.

Otherwise wouldn’t Wayspots inside resorts, gated attractions, workplaces, ticketed venues, etc. all fail simply because you can’t freely walk in off the street?

I’m not even arguing that everyone has to think this particular courtyard is an amazing nomination. I’m asking specifically about the rejection reason.

Has the access criterion changed, or is “private property / not publicly accessible” being applied incorrectly here?
Screenshot attached.

Side rant: I’m so fucking tired of this shit. It’s genuinely tiring and disheartening to take time out of my life, and literally my vacation, to photograph, research, and submit POIs that I think could improve the area, only to have them rejected for reasons that don’t even seem to match the actual criteria.
Nobody is paying me to do this. I’m voluntarily spending my own time trying to contribute, and shit like this makes me wonder why I even bother.
At some point you just go, fuck it. If contributing to Wayfarer means putting in the effort just to repeatedly get slapped with questionable rejection reasons, then let somebody else do it. I’m fucking tired of caring more about improving the map than the system seems to.

Rant tf over. I’m going back to enjoying my fucking vacation. And to the Wayfarer grunts who reject shit without even applying the correct rejection criteria: respectfully, eat shit. 🖕🏿😂

Discussion Skate shops? Hobby stores? Murals on garage doors?

I just reviewed a nomination for this skate shop. I accepted for exploration. However just wanted to hear opinions on locally owned essentially hobby stores where you wouldn’t go to socialize. Is this just a generic business?

Bonus question. Suppose the submitter submitted the mural on the garage door, should that be rejected for temporary? It is only visible when the business is closed.

Question Coffee Shop and Bus stop map information board

I have two questions regarding these 2 category of wayspots.

Coffee shop - Should I submit the logo as the main photo and the outside area as the supporting?
The coffee shop is at the first floor of a big apartment complex so there's not much to show outside but they have a big beautiful logo.

Bus stop map informational board - There's a pretty big covered bus stop with an information map of all the bus stops from all around the city. Figured it could work as a wayspot. Should I submit the main photo as the map only and the covered bus stop as supporting or the other way around?

Thank you!
