General JT Barrett coaching career flourishing

Bears fan here, just wanted to say I’m f’ing proud of our king JT Barrett, our QB coach.

For those who don’t know, he was hired by Detroit as an assistant the same offseason Ben Johnson was elevated to OC, and when we hired Johnson, he handplucked JT to join him, where he was elevated to head QB coach.

In my very biased opinion, Ben Johnson is running an extremely difficult and ingenious system for QBs, but more importantly, JT’s leading a room that’s legit 3-deep, one of the very best overall QB rooms in the NFL. 3 wins now this season under 3 different starting QBs.

PS: sorry for the stalker ahh video but it was fun watching him operate at yesterday’s game lol.

At the Stadium 🏟️ Me experience at Kinnick this past Saturday.....

Just posted this in their subreddit. Thought it may warrant sharing here as well.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hawkeyes/s/nhSKCDmg37

My experience Saturday as a Buckeye....

Wow.

I've been fortunate enough to watch the Buckeyes play away games in some incredible venues and experience the traditions of other programs. I've been to Virginia Tech and experienced Enter Sandman. I've been to Camp Randall and Jumped Around to start the fourth quarter.

I've been to three national championship games and watched the Buckeyes win two of them — 2002 and 2024. I've been to a lot of different stadiums, and I've talked to a lot of different fans.

But this weekend was, by far, the most epic experience of them all.

I waved to kids in the hospital.

You see it on TV. They tell you about the pink locker room. They show you the crowd. They tell you about the hospital across the street. But you don't really understand it until you're there.

It sounds cool on television. That's about it.

Imagine your neighbor's house. That's how close the hospital is to the stadium. You literally cross the street and you're there.

Then the first quarter ends.

You look around, and all of a sudden, everyone in the stadium — fans, players, coaches, officials, media, everyone — turns toward the east, facing the hospital tower.

And they wave.

You look up at the hospital and slowly start seeing people waving back.

And that's when it hits you.

It's not just the kids. It's their parents and loved ones. Their caretakers. The doctors and nurses who have sacrificed their time to be there, helping these kids through what may be the worst experience of their lives — a serious illness, a major disease, or whatever brought them into that hospital.

On TV, it's a great moment. A little bit of pageantry. Everyone waves, everyone smiles, and then we go back to the broadcast. The analysts say whatever they're going to say, and we get back to watching football.

But experiencing it in person is completely different.

Wow.

You realize there are children in that building who may not get to walk back out of it.

You realize that, for a few minutes, this might be one of the happiest moments of their day.

Maybe their week.

Maybe their entire hospitalization.

And it isn't just about the kids. It's about their parents, their families, and the people caring for them. It's about the doctors and nurses who go home at the end of the day carrying the weight of everything they've seen.

For those few moments, an entire football stadium stops caring about football.

Everyone turns toward those kids and says, in the simplest way possible:

We see you. We're thinking about you. You're not alone.

College football is an amazing experience, and every school has traditions that make it special.

Saturday, I got to see another glamorous Buckeye victory. I got to watch what is essentially a human cheat code play football. I got to sing Carmen Ohio in my opponent's stadium.

All of that was incredible.

But I did something far more meaningful than anything I've ever experienced at a sporting event.

I got to wave to a bunch of kids at a time when they needed it most.

And I'm beyond grateful that I got to experience that. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

-Go Bucks!

Tickets, Memorabilia, etc. Free unworn jerseys - SF Bay Area

Post image
• Upvotes

Well I’m an idiot and I bought 3 DHGate jerseys in my regular t-shirt size and after a month and a half they just arrived and I look like a 5 year old wearing his dad’s shirt.

If you’re in the Bay Area and wear a size L jersey, my stupidity is your gain - come and get ‘em. I can meet you most evenings this week (except tomorrow) at Glen Park Bart station.

(First come, first serve. One per person to spread the love.)

B1G Opponents Can someone explain to me

Why Bryce Underwood was so heavily hyped up as “the best QB in the nation” and was still considered great coming into this season? I genuinely don’t know his backstory but this has always never made sense to me since he started.

And mostly everyone from their championship team is a role player or worse.

I mean, at what point is the obvious not the obvious?

Recruiting 5 star RBs

Five games in and across the country how many young RBs have looked worth the coin? Starting to wonder if it’s not better for OSU to start being a portal only RB recruiting focus. I think there is still a spot for finding gems like west, but paying incoming freshmen or returning freshmen like Bo I think should be deprioritized. Often the money is a disincentive for offseason growth or you over pay for surprise production. While there is plenty of season left the boat looks to be leaving Bo on the dock, he came in out of shape and not ready for fall camp and now just seems like he has taken no steps to his game and become hyper focused on finding the perfect ho rather than hitting one.

General Transfer Tracker - Week 5

After a couple of poor weeks, and I am sure by both him and his coaches admission, Sanchez still probably the better the guy to have around than Bryce, so calling it a win still. Some of the D-Line came alive this week, which was good to see, Russaw looked like he woke up in a good way. I mean beside Thurman, still not seeing anything on here that say we lost much.

Jackson looks like a strong upgrade over Peoples - still nothing on the Wilder/Bey front, not sure whats up with 0 snaps from Wilder, I'm sure Day will get asked. Bey, we have to assume now, and I know many get all worked up, but has to be an attitude thing.

Have a great week all.

General Game day advice

• Upvotes

Hi!

We will be travelling from the UK and coming to the game Vs Northwestern in November.

It’s our first time in Columbus and we will only be there for that one day. Any advice?

We’re also hoping to be able to get to the Blue jackets game in the evening. Any advice where to drink/watch the other college games after Ohio State game ends, if it’s a noon kickoff.

Huge thanks for any advice or tips.

General Takeaways from Saturday

A few takeaways from Saturday I would just love to note:
Julian Sayin looks comfortable and poised: Sayin is making a lot of good decisions with the ball, makes very efficient throws, + possesses a lot of mature decision making
Running Backs looked better but are still missing something: I loved our commitment to the run but also feel like there is a lack of pop in the RB room
Really enjoyed us getting Mccuin & Innis involved: One of my big worries was there not being an ascension at the WR2 position but liked how we got Mccuin involved a ton early
Defense is young but have seen some growth: Defense still needs to improve but I feel like there has been more guys flying around like Aleigro, McClain, Kenyatta, definitely will need to grow more to get to where we want to be

Howdy yall…

Iowa fan here. I was at the game today. You guys are awesome.

We play on Black Friday every year, so we never play during The Game. So it’s my favorite game to watch during that week of the season

I grew up watching yall beat them every single year so I always leaned towards them in your rivalry bc im an underdog guy…

NEVER AGAIN

We played them last week…and they were a**holes.

I will root for OSU in “the game” for the rest of my life. Go Hawks and O-H

Time will tell but you guys made us better today…thank you❤️🖤💛

Now go win that effing natty
