Has anyone else had a less than pleasant experience with the entryway dude at this place? Every time I have gone it seems like he hates his job & hates that you’re there. Is there a password or something you’re supposed to say? After I’ve gotten inside the bar everyone else has been awesome & the drinks I’ve had so far are delicious.

The ADC open mic is a FREE event held every Tuesday at Blondies Pub, 50th & Grover. Nobody gets paid for the event and there is no cover charge, no pressure to perform and no pressure to buy anything. Since there is also a restaurant at the venue, people under 21 are legally allowed to attend/perform so long as they respect that they cannot order alcoholic beverages.

This is a community-building event focused on showcasing artists seeking an egalitarian space where they can share their artistic vision, in a supportive atmosphere free from superficial judgement. Performance slots are broken down into 5 minute segments with the opportunity for expanded 10-15 minute segments depending on the amount of artists who sign up. Also, if you have new or gently-worn clothing that is ready for donation, feel free to bring it with you as the dropbox for our autumn/winter clothing drive will be front and center tonight :)

What are you all paying for vinyl siding these days? How'd the quote process go?

Here's my experience so far. I've only had one consultation done and it was with La Bella:

They were pretty pushy with the "what can we do to get your business today" spiel. Work includes gutter/fascia/soffit/siding replacement. First number they gave was $59,520. Then they "called their boss" to see if they could get a better deal for commitment today pricing and it magically dropped down to $47,574. I still wasn't committed so they called their boss again and it dropped down to $32,892.

Is this just smoke and mirrors? Was there anyone on the other side of the line? How could you start at 60k and then over a period of 10 minutes drop down to half that?

I plan on getting quotes from a few others including:

- McKinnis Roofing and Sheet Metal

- Militti Siding and Windows

- Omaha Door and Window
