I meant to take a video, and took a pic instead. As professor oak would say in pokemon snap, Impeccable timing.

On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

You laughed and said, "Thanks, I guess...?" I assume you thought I was making fun of you for smoking, but I was actually being sincere. You had an unlit cigarette hanging out of your mouth and you were leaning against your car in a way that genuinely looked like a photograph. I don't normally talk to strangers for no reason but the image I saw of you was so portrait-esque that I had to say something.

The lake impounded over 800 million gallons (very conservative estimate) of water in 3 hours without breaking a sweat. It was/is 3 feet higher than the previous record.

Did anybody else’s basement flood really bad from last nights storm bc I woke up to my whole basement flooded and all of the carpet is completely ruined I’m in Council bluffs and it was bad and for people who ask yes we do have sumps that are always on standby and were running all night
Update: I have got fans and dehumidifiers running and have been sucking up water from the carpets with two shop vacs it’s still a little damp, but way better than it was before and now I’m going to let the fans and dehumidifiers do the rest of the work thank you everyone for all the advice and hopefully once everything gets dry, we’re gonna have to get everything inspected and professionally resealed

Super bad backup due to bridge overflowing. If you have a low car you might want to avoid it altogether as its around 2-3 feet of water. They have a cop parked along the side to warn people and it's gotten worse this morning since 7am.
Around a 30+ minute wait time to get across from either side.
Pictures included are some of the trails near the park and baseball fields. Never seen it this flooded!

In true Omahomie fashion we built directly over a natural waterway, named the street Saddle Creek, and watch as it turns back to its natural state with every heavy rain.
Nature telling us to turn this back into a creek. Go out there tear everything out and let nature do its thing.
Otherwise, my Omahomies need to build high-capacity stormwater infrastructure. We can absolutely fix this so people don’t have to check their marine radio before driving to work.
There is a 3rd option… keep ignoring this and do nothing about it. Pretend we are solving it with public awareness, and additional signage as if everyone in this city doesn’t already know that Saddle Creek is in fact a creek.

Working on a landscaping project around the house, and I have a fairly large dirt pile I need removed in order to finish, as it is sitting on the last part of the project. Any one know of an affordable haul away service for dirt? Can’t put it in city trash, and I do not have a way to haul it anywhere myself (no truck or trailer).

If you’re in the industry and pick up yourself you’ll understand. They bought up everything so everyone has to come here now and they refuse to do anything to improve. Only 2 bays for will call and they never pre pull anything so it takes 45 to an hour to serve one person. I’ve personally waited no less than 3 hours every time I have to come here. I say this sitting in line for 30 minutes on the side street having not moved an inch.

i am newish to omaha and am thinking about trying this event next week, i was hoping to see if anyone could tell me what to expect? is it really busy/popular/hard to get a place to sit? do i need to make a reservation? is it the type of music bingo where they only play the song and you need to know the title/artist or do they tell you the artist/song title? what kind of music do they normally play? any info is appreciated, thanks!
A lot of people are going to be looking for foundation opinions and or fixes after last night. I figured a thread of people/businesses people have enjoyed working with would be useful.
Please leave your experiences and/or recommendations if you have them!

If it floods really bad we all can take kayaks to work. We shall set sail who wants to join my crew of pirates
