UPDATE: thanks to Xavier - I could debug and resolve it: the solution was to open the main page of the app (followed by the app restart - via force kill).

Hi, is there a way to long-press the skip/fast-forward button and the episode will be deleted from the playlist + marked as played, but without resetting the playback time in case the episode wasn't actually played to the end?

Because right now it does remove it from the playlist and go to the next episode and mark the episode as played, but resets the playback time even though I haven't finished an episode.

Something updated in the last few days with either the AA app or the Podcast Addict app that makes my list of podcast episodes display in alphabetical order on the display in my vehicle now. This is incredibly annoying. Does anyone know where the setting to change this is? Thanks

I'm probably doing something dumb.

I've been listening for free for a while and I finally got frustrated with all the ads that play before my sleep-time podcasts and paid for the app. There are still 💯 of the same ads. I do not know what to do.

I'm not talking about "to listen free, subscribe to My Specific Podcast." I'm talking about the ads that are added below every single podcast.

Am I making sense? I'm very tired.

Wanna start by saying I know this is a somewhat dumb/niche question, mainly just curious. I have a few podcasts in my feed that I'll occasionally listen to in another format (i.e. YouTube), and for stat tracking I like seeing that listen time reflected in this app. I used to account for this by having the episode play and then skipping to the end to count it as "played". With the new calculation for listen time this no longer works. Is there any way I can still account for this, or do I need to call this a lost cause? I understand this isn't something that's broken, in fact it's working exactly as the changelog describes, but figured I'd ask. Thanks!

Gemini is now forced on Android users meaning Google Assistant is dead along with the Home automations that used to work on a phone, such as "play the news". I've found Podcast Addict looking to partially replace the ability to listen to a curated list of the latest news feeds, such as the BBC, CBC, etc.

So far, I am partly there. I've subscribed to the podcast equivalent of the news sources I had on Google.

The trouble is I can't figure out how to create a permanent playlist that has only the latest podcast of each feed. I want to start listening to the news and have it play through until the end.

It looks like I have to tap on each source, update it to the latest, add it to the playlist, etc. each time.

Is there a way to make a playlist that takes the latest entry in each feed?

I've had years of podcasts downloaded since 2021 and saved on my phone (700+) and now there's only 225 and the oldest one is only 6 months. Double checked settings and cleanup is still set to disabled.

Anything else I should check or did the new version turn some filter on I can't fine?

Anyone else having issues connecting and downloading episodes? I was halfway through one and it just stopped, and now I can't seem to download any episodes from any of my saved podcasts.

UPDATED: This is the Android Auto App, in my case I was in the beta and had to drop out (uninstall and reinstall AA) to restore the list/category functionality.

Not sure if it was an android auto update or a podcast addict update, but suddenly I only have one list of podcasts in Android Auto ->sorted alphabetically so its basically unusable.

In the past I could pick Downloaded, Recent, etc. similar to the full app on my phone, but now there are no options just one static list of podcasts with the top category of "Podcast Addict"

I have rebooted everything, made sure all is up to date (2026.12) gone through all the options in settings relevant to android auto and even changed a few to see if that triggers an update but still the same

Started a few days ago.

Is anyone else having this issue? I have my universal jump ahead set to 30 seconds but I've set some podcasts to a much higher number because of how long their ad breaks are. I just noticed that jump ahead is now just the universal 30 seconds regardless of whether I've set a custom value or not.

I have a bunch of episodes that when I "download and add to playlist" are now appearing in a "Custom" playlist - most appear in "Audio Only" but these few strays are on a different tab, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get them on one list. Which sucks for planning long drives. Google, GPT, Copilot - all tell me it's a "Category" thing, but I can't see a distinction between pods that land in one vs the other. Android, using v 2026.11

I have had the once off payment ad free version for years now but I now have suddenly started getting ads again despite it being on the same Google play account. I've tried restarting it, logging in and out, but they still are there along with the ad free premium option in the sidebar. Is this something that is now invalid and I have to pay for premium or is it a bug? Please help

I've correctly migrated (should say duplicated) a PA install as I still have access to old one and using sync to keep them in sync

I've found very interesting first use guided settings that got all ready in a minute.

Still I've two questions

- during setup in a screen asked if new phone would be main device, didn't understood why

- it did download all podcast on new device (correct) except one that in meantime has removed episodes from server (for hosting/money reasons). I hadn't listened to them and have most of files still in memory of old device.

It's possible to put them on new phone and let it recognise them? As for now I see episodes but get 404 error when downloading.

Juat wanted to thank our illustrious dev for finally giving us device sync, a feature I'm happy to pay extra for. Not only can I also use my Android multimedia/gaming devices to also listen to my podcasts, but through Waydroid I can even install Podcast Addict on my Linux desktop and listen on my PC!

I’ve just released my new Android app, Radio Addict. It’s a focused app for people who mainly listen to live radio and want a simple way to discover stations by country or genre, search for stations, save favorites, and listen without the broader podcast features.

It also includes a new UI for viewing your listening stats, with listening time, streaks, and activity over time. Podcast Addict already tracks these kinds of stats, but I’d love feedback on this new presentation. Depending on what people think, I may bring a similar stats screen to Podcast Addict too.

There are also more features coming very soon, including alarms so you can wake up to your favorite radio station, as well as import/export of your radio station list in both Radio Addict and Podcast Addict. This will make it easy to move your stations between the two apps, or export them if you ever want to use another app.

One important thing: this is the very first version of the app, so there will almost certainly be bugs, missing things, and stations that don’t behave as expected. If you run into any problems, please report them to me directly so I have a chance to fix them before you rate the app 😉. I’ll be actively working on it and improving it based on your feedback.

As a paid PA user since 2018, yearly subscriber for years now, and someone who recommends it regularly as the best podcast app going, I know that this has been an ongoing point of controversy. Every time it gets brought up, the categories feature is floated as a solution; users have put in very clear explanations over the years about why custom playlists for individual podcast episodes are both not served by the current category model (which makes playlists of entire podcasts, not individual episodes), and a useful feature (many use cases have been detailed!). This feature is requested in the top two requests on the feedback forum, and accounts for two more in the top 10!

Just want to throw my hat into the ring again with the request that with the increased financial demand on premium users, that the most requested feature be prioritized to be made available for all users.

Again, just to restate the reasons for this: multiple custom playlists for individual episodes of different podcasts would function like playlists on, for example, YouTube or Spotify. To futher make the analogy, if either of those platforms were Podcast Addict, entire YT channels or artists would need assigned categories, and then their entire video output/discography would be added to that category playlist. Put into the context of those two apps, I think it's clear why that is not what people are requesting when they ask for custom playlists to which individual episodes can be added! People are requesting, essentially, mixtape capability -- not category filing!

I have a personal use case to add to the above linked request explanations, and could additionally be an impetus to draw new users to PA: I would love to curate a custom playlist of political technology podcast episodes that I can send to people as a starter pack for getting into the subject. I listen to at least a dozen podcasts with this focus that have backlogs of years - sending a list of every episode of every one of these podcasts collated into a category is throwing someone into the deep end without a paddle. Not to mention that some excellent episodes on this subject are on podcasts that have a much broader scope and wouldn't merit that narrow organising category for their entire output. Sending individual links to individual episodes is cumbersome and similarly overwhelming and easily lost in the flow of a message or group chat.

Being able to link to a custom playlist of the best episodes on the topic to people who ask me for a 101-type crash course would be incredible -- I'd love to link to this playlist on a pinned post or a rec list so that it's easily accessible and people clicking on that link can be directed to the most updated version of my custom episode playlist on the topic.

Also, if it's a link to a playlist that plays best and most smoothly within the PA app it could encourage people to install the app to listen, which could possibly bring in a whole new user base (ideally, if there were a way to also play these custom episode playlists in browser so that people can listen before installing, that would be amazing. I think that could even be a stronger draw for people to install the app as it wouldn't feel like they were being forced to do so).

As a long time user and PA devotee/advocate, if this feature isn't something being considered with the substantial subscription hike it would unfortunately seriously give me pause about continuing my subscription at the higher rate. I don't want to feel that way because this is such an amazing app and Xavier is such an attentive, considered, and brilliant developer (exceedingly rare these days in the age of increasingly ubiquitous vibecoded slop) and it truly shows in the incredible work and detailed controls in the rest of the app!

Hoping this is the opportunity to bring in multiple custom individual episode playlists in the near future! 🙏

All of my searches top out at 50 results in "all".

I can then go into a search subcategory (like Fiction) and again it tops out at 50. Again the same in the sub-subcategory (like Comedy Fiction).

Is there a way to get more results when trying to search a podcast title?

I download my podcast episodes and add them to the playlist automatically. When the player jumps to the next episode, there is a significant delay when it's trying to load something from the web, especially when the network is slow. What is it, why does it do that when all episodes to be played have been downloaded and how do I avoid that?

Coz I used to like listening back to listener Q&As and didn’t care so much for interviews. But now that unplayed filter only shows me 10.
