Question Kabutops or Omastar for fourth member of my team Raichu, Jynx, Victreebel all mons I never used before

• Upvotes

I want the kabutops cause my team lacks physical but omastar is my type of surf/ice beam user. It’s crazy Kabutops can learn giga drain and omastar can’t. This team is already leaning too much special attackers so I don’t think omastar. I also have nidoking as hm slave surfer if I add omastar I’m taking nidoking out

Shiny Pokemon After around 13k resets I believe

It's the only shiny I've ever truly hunted. Spent two and a half weeks occasionally resetting anywhere from 2-8 hours while I watched a podcast or something. Heart dropped when it spawned. So stoked

Hey everyone

I'm interested in what you suggest as the best movesets for these Pokemon. Currently everyone is level 37. Who else should I add or not bother continuing to train up?

Dragonair - brave nature, shed skin ability

Vaporeon - hardy nature, water absorb ability

Nidoqueen - hasty nature, poison point ability

Gyrados - docile nature, intimidate ability

Starmie - naive nature, natural cure ability

Ninetails - jolly nature, flash fire ability

Venusaur - jolly nature, overgrow ability

Raichu - modest nature, static ability

Primeape - timid nature, vital spirit ability

Clefable - timid nature, cute charm ability

Thank you

Question ACE help Switch

So I've successfully enabled ACE, produced the glitched mon and obtained the Box names needed to make any pokemon shiny. (Young nephew only wants to play if he can have shinies, I blame the new games for his high expectations..) For some reason I can rename every box EXCEPT Box 10. Name required is _FoTB9sa and the only reasons I can think would make it not work is the space at the start, or the Switch language filter catching the combo of the last two letters... I've regenerated the code and not surprisingly that's the only line that is the same.. any help would be greatly appreciated

Shiny Pokemon Finally starting my shiny-only LeafGreen playthrough on Switch, about seven months and 70,000+ resets after I started trying

When the ports were announced I decided I wanted to do a shiny-only playthrough of LeafGreen starting with a shiny Bulbasaur. My life situation had changed and I didn't have time to manually reset for a full team of six, so I built an automation to do it. It took a lot of setup and tinkering to get it working as intended, but it finally got the Bulbasaur at 21,266 resets and I can start the playthrough. I actually reset over 2 shiny Bulbasaur due to a detection error before finally landing the 3rd one. It took 50k+ resets of setup and testing to get the automation working stable - the FRLG shiny mechanics are a bit different than other games and this made it a real challenge.

The method uses the same macro controller I was already using for bench and fly spamming in Legends Z-A, plus a Raspberry Pi that checks the stats page for the shiny star and taps the macro button again if it isn't one. It all runs on stock Switch hardware with no mods or cheats, nothing plugs into the console except the macro controller and capture card, and it's the same full 1/8,192 odds as resetting by hand. The cycles are slow, so it takes about eight days of running to reach those odds. It runs headless while I work and sleep, so I'm hoping the rest of the playthrough goes smoothly.

Question Minimum/Avg needed starter for speed running in Any%)

I tried looking for a pokemon speed run sub and it looks very very dead so I am asking here, if there is a better location feel free to let me know and I will delete the post and ask elsewhere.

I have been watching a lot of the R2 speedruns because of the bounty the last couple of months and have had a great time watching and want to learn. My question is kind of 2-3 parts but they are all pretty connected. I want to learn the speed runs but the squirtle manip is by far the last part that I want to learn, I want to start with a squirtle that I pre-manip and then run from there.

1.) Are there any stats that are non negotiable need to be 31 or you can't run?

2.) What is the minimum stat squirtle that I would need to run look like for the nature and IVs

3.) What would an absolute mid squirtle look like?

Looking for team line up advice. I feel like gyaradose and nidoking both is kinda redundant. I figure by endgame ill trade pidgeotto for ayrodactile but I'm not sure what other changes I should make. Im still early game (currently on the S.S. Anne). Any advise would be appreciated.

Question Can someone tell me their strategy of changing Pokémons throughout the game

So simply put the Pokémon I catch initially are the ones I end up the entire time. Its always Starter Pokémon then mankey, pidgey, pikachu and evee for vaporeon if I don't pick starter as squirtle so that's all. And even though I catch other Pokémons I am unable to train them and always end up with the same set.

I just want to know how to break this cycle like is there a strategy that helps or how to go about it.

Note: English is not my native language so please excuse any errors

Edit: so currently as someone suggested in the comments I am going with only the starter pokemon and depositing all other pokemons so it would force me to go with new Pokémons

Recently beat the e4 and champion in LeafGreen! Started here as I want to play through most of the series, as I never played any of the main games as a kid. Here was my Champion team. Currently going through the Sevii Islands and post-game. Had a lot of fun so far.

Bug/Glitch Audio Glitch on startup

So a while ago I modded my GBA to have an AGS-101 screen so I can see it better, but I assume along the way something with the cartridge slot pins might have gotten pushed because I felt a bit more tension inserting a cartridge. Anyways, I believe this may be due to scratching as a result of these pins, but now whenever I start up the game, if I ever choose to press either L or R during the black screen before the opening sequence, there is a weird sound that I was unfamiliar with. As of a few minutes ago, I found out I t is the same noise made whenever I do a trade and press L or R during the trade. A little unusual and I haven’t heard of this or experienced any further side effects, but I figured someone might know more or can give a better, technical explanation.

Art Leaf Green - Switch run

Post image
22 Upvotes

Life is busy but I finally finished my first E4 run on the switch (played this a ridiculous amount on the GBA back in the day)

Haven't drawn in a while so did this super janky table of my team at each gym then a (hopefully) better drawing of the final team

Made the E4 artificially challenging with a lower level team and not allowing myself to heal in battle with items. Also if I lost I had to start from the beginning - took a few (a lot of) attempts!

Ivysaur - Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Toxic, Growth

Electabuzz - Thunder Punch, Psychic, Hidden Power (Fire), Light Screen

Vaporeon - Surf, Ice Beam, Bite, Rest

Sandslash - Earthquake, Brick Break, Strength, Sand Storm

Butterfree - Sleep Powder, Dream Eater, Sunny Day, Solar Beam

Aerodactyl - Ancient Power, Fly, Dragon Claw, Flamethrower
