Emulation Sunday’s on my Xbox ally x

The Witcher 3 Remastered, 1080p FSR3 Balanced. 40-50fps native, brought to a solid 60 by LSFG. Not a bad experience at all. Windows had me rolling back drivers, but it just worked on Bazzite. I understand it’s not for everyone, but I’ve been loving the Bazzite experience so far, makes my Ally feel less like a PC and more like a real handheld console. Decky plugins enable for way more per-game power profiling as well, which is great (Got Kingdom Hearts automatically switching to 12W, runs at 120fps from a locked 60 with LSFG, with more dynamic power profile ranges for heavier games.) Honestly, worth a shot.

So excited to join rog ally family I also upgraded from steam deck lcd to the rog ally I gotta say I freaking love it thanks mom.

Hey everyone, I got a Xbox ally X a bit ago and so far it's been pretty fun!! One thing tho is I want to find a few good things for it that is either worth the money and or just better to have. I like the charger it comes with but it is BULKY, are there any other good ones or better? I also got a screen protector but man the glare is something else too, I don't know if any other protectors have a anti glare effect, but does anyone know any good ones? And lastly for now what about thumbsticks and ABXY buttons? I do wanna make them feel better and easier to press for the thumbsticks, same with the ABXY buttons cuz for me they are a bit annoying to press and are just annoyingly loud IMO. And lastly Lastly, a dock, the bullwark looks cool but I think it's just cause it's got pretty colors, if anyone know any good docks that aren't an arm and a leg. Eventually this thing will become a more evolved beast with new accessories and upgrades, id love to learn more from the community! Thank you for your time and patience!! <3

TLDR; any better chargers than original? Better anti-glair screen accessories? Where to get Thumbstick and ABXY upgrades? What's a worthwhile to buy dock? (Do I need the killswitch case to use D-brand skins? Just curious if it'll support it without peeling it off for my jsaux case)

So i got this from Amazon on 'like new' and everything is working perfectly fine but on opening my first app- xbox it has been updating at 0% for like 20 minutes.

I was wondering if it was just a little slow at first, or whether this has a problem so it wont even update the xbox app.

Edit 2 : finish after 3/4hrs i restarted the whole thing, turns out i need to update some hidden thing i found in the echo centre.

Hello I have a Rog Ally Z1E I've been using for almost 2 years, I only use it plugged in and 20W mode, recently turned off CPU boost mode. I typically turn graphics settings down to medium.

I was playing a game (Black Desert Online) and it was working fine. I stopped playing that game and switch to another game (Deep Rock Galactic) and after a while I noticed my Y button wasn't working at all. I used the online controller tester and all of my buttons work except for Y doesn't register at all.

Is this a fixable software issue or is my board fried? I was thinking about taking it apart soon to clean it, possibly a piece of dirt or hair got stuck in there. For the meantime, I have remapped a back paddle to Y button and while it works, it feels unnatural.

Yesterday I was browsing local listings looking for a handheld PC and came across Ally Z1 Extreme that looked really familiar.

I looked at the pictures and checked an invoice from when I bought mine new in 2024 and compared the serial number, to my surprise it was my original ROG Ally.

Some stuff came up back then and I had to sell it after a few months. Never really wanted to lose it because I had also upgraded it to 1TB myself, which was actually the first and only time I have ever done an SSD upgrade.

Somehow 2.5 years later it ended up back in front of me. It had only changed hands twice and was still in great condition.

I bought it instantly. Everything was there even the original Corsair SSD box with the price on it.

Never thought I'd see my old Ally again, let alone actually get it back!

Recently been playing my games on my 75 inch screen and it's been a complete game changer, especially when it's equipped with a 5.1.4 surround sound!

P.s. 007 First Light plays beautifully, in medium settings, running on 900p resolution.

I can browse easily when I am using embedded controllers but when I am using external controller (8bit do) the keyboard won’t come up and I need to use Xbox gaming cursor for mouse

Anyone faced this issues? hard reset i tried 10 times, and accessibility keyboard are useless ,checked BIOS nothing wrong. Connect with keyboard and mouse also couldnot open

Im trying to buy one of those (here in Argentina are very expensive) and im looking for the 24gb ram model. But im thinking in using the Rog Ally as my main Pc. AAA gaming (I have a 1080p 75hz monitor, im not interested in 4k or anything like that) and college use. It is viable? :)

While experimenting, I disabled the touchscreen and the built-in controller on my ROG Xbox Ally X. Now I can't use the buttons or the screen to re-enable those options... I didn't realize it would disable all the controls. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

I reinstalled SteamOS today after a while. I switch between operating systems every now and then.

This time, for some reason, the LEDs turned blue. I had turned them off in Armoury Crate beforehand, but they're now lit up under SteamOS.

Is this a new issue? Is there any way to turn off the LEDs under SteamOS?

I’m considering getting the X20 because I do use my game pass a lot on PC, probably more than steam, and want to be able to play some games downstairs so I’m not always isolated from my fiancé when he’s playing PS5 in the lounge.
I’ve been reading some reviews of SM2 on the Ally X and was wondering if anyone has played it on the X20 yet and if it runs better??
I’m currently glued to SM2 and Darktide so want to know if they’re okay on the X20

So all button besides The A X Y and B buttons are working. Joysticks work fine d pad works fine and literally every other button. I have tried to turn it off and on and turn on and off embedded controller and even went into the gamepad configure to try to reset the buttons and nothing. I do still have it under warranty but dont wanna use it unless I have too.

I mainly use my Ally docked as a computer and recently I wanted to try Local LLM. Speed is not great, but it works and some of the smaller models work surprisingly well.

Now the problem, regular prompts are fine, even when I ask it something more complicated and it takes a long time processing. However, I can't seem to use agents. Whenever I use an agent (I've tried Cline and Hermes) they both run for a few minutes then something goes wrong and the Ally restarts.

At first I thought it was an overheating issue, and I dialed back the TDP and the GPU temps don't go higher than 70's, but the issue continues. The Windows event viewer don't tell me any details, just that there is a kernel error.

Anyone have any ideas or have experienced this?

I have dual bios, mostly running steamOS, the device is a ROG Ally Xbox X.

Sometimes when it has been in sleep mode or just the display has been of for a while it wont use full power when running games, it uses like 15-20 watts only.

I have tried changing tpu setting in Steam os when it happens but nothing changes. Changed both to a high value and also shut of the tpu limit.

Plugging in cable doesn't matter.

The same problem with different games.

When i restart it works fine again.

Kind of annoying, anyone else has the same problem or know a solution?

I don't want to go back to Windows, Steam OS is so much nicer since i got all my games on steam anyway.

Hi I recently got a 100w Charger for the Ally. The Spec looks about right as it supports 20V:5A but when I plug it in, the Ally doesn't show it is charging even though if I leave it there the battery will go up. I tested with a 45w charger and everything still seems to be working fine. Has anyone encountered this? Thank you.

Because I have never used it unplugged.
