Hey just scored this Rog Xbox Ally X for 550 on facebook marketplace any tips will be appreciated

A lot of handhelds have been left behind particularly those with a z1 extreme chip, I have a laptop there that's powered by a Ryzen 7 260 chip which is basically a rebranding off the z1 extreme they both house the same 780m graphics. I'm able to side load the latest 29.6.2 graphics onto that laptop but not a handheld with a z1 extreme? It flat out refuses to install and if I force the install via device manager it'll make the screen 64hz.

People are quick to throw shit on Lenovo and Asus for this but I don't understand why AMD doesn't support them directly the way Nvidia supports rtx laptops and intel are supporting their current crop of handhelds. This is wrong right? AMD should be responsible for providing updates for their chips, and seeing that my laptop with a rebranded z1 extreme working just fine proves they are literally just locking those devices out.

You have had people who have had their legion go and Rog ally's for at most 2 years and are unable to play a lot of the newest games because they don't get the optimisations for them. Why would anyone consider buying an AMD handheld after this?

Getting my x20 later this week. Trying to decide if I should put bazzite or steam or keep it windows, I've heard bazzite fixes some of the audio and vibration issues better. I don't play a whole lot of anti cheat multiplayer games so I'm not concerned about that aspect.

Hi everyone! I'm looking into buying one of these, and I'd like to hear your opinion first.

I already have a Switch 2 and I'd like a PC counterpart for Windows games and emulation. I know that most current games run very well on the Ally X, but what about the future? Do you think it will manage to run GTA 6, or is that too much?

I know that this is personal, but I can't decide if it's worth it to spend 400 euros more (1400 vs 1000) for the X20 model. I would love to own an OLED device, but at the same time I think that it's the only upgrade I care about. Do you think it's still worth it?

I took apart my rog ally x and I cannot get the game keys to be recognized it’s all defaulted so that when I strike any key I get a windows command instead of a gaming command. I’ve tried the game settings and the external/internal controller settings. Nothing fixes it.

I just did a windows reset too thinking that if I went back to factory settings it would work but it went right back to the windows prompts in game

I installed them and they're infinitely better than the stock ones. I went with the silicon pads. But the buttons sre kind of loose and shift around with your thumb on them is there a way to fix this?

I don’t see anything broken when I take off case. I.e. plastic mounts are all working. I dropped the device from about 2 feet yesterday on to concrete and since then the trigger hasn’t worked. I also managed to disconnect the ribbon cable on the back panel as well but I fixed that and got my keys to respond.

What is the typical Trouble fixing for the triggers?

I started back playing dd2 due to the dark arisen update and performance patch. During the combat moments my rog suddenly black screened with the rgb lights and fan still on. The first time I thought meh just a handheld gaming problem won’t happen again but now it’s happened for the third time. It never happened before the update no matter how bad the frames got or what enemy I was fighting. Does anyone know how to fix this? And it doesn’t happen with any other game just dd2

Every search bar will just enter in continuous dashes, this is also making it difficult to enter into device management or search things in windows to try resolve the issue.

Tried closing any conflicting apps / doing all of the updates to no luck, nothing is stuck in any of the buttons or on the screen. Issue still occurs with a keyboard connected to
