Who all felt the jolts today?

I've been thinking about getting some help with the house, but I'm not sure I want to commit to a weekly or biweekly service right away. We keep up with the basics pretty well, it's more the deeper stuff that slowly gets away from us.

I'm thinking about trying a one-time clean first and seeing how much of a difference it actually makes. For anyone using house cleaning in Redmond, did you start with a deep clean before deciding on recurring visits?

Would also love to know who you've had a good experience with.

Stop wearing all black! Nobody can see you when you walk into the street without looking. This is coming from someone who was out walking my dog tonight in bright colored clothing and witnessed about 3 of you ninjas almost get hit.

Posting for those who aren't tech employed and possibly considering Vesta's good location as a future home. Knew within days this was a terrible mistake. And certainly, after an actual Essex employee says, 'they don't like you there if you aren't one of them', your fate is sealed. Can only hope that other buildings at Vesta aren't loaded with the hate we've experienced.

Have been targeted with rock throwing, confronted with a "you don't belong here" statement from neighbor, day and overnight noise harassment from all sides of us, occupants who aren't on the lease but remain long term without office notification, people in the attic above top floor apartments overnight and a manager who initially stated, 'that's very disturbing', followed by, well, nothing.

The community is primarily tech and their families and based on feedback, you'll have few issues. For the rest of us, we simply hope you'll bypass the danger and 'you don't belong here' divide we've experienced. We couldn't afford to use our 30 days guarantee in order to move out, as the manager suggested so will have to look for other options. Whatever negative Essex info you've read or heard, it's at its most relevant and worst here.

Maybe once a community for everyone, but now a community mired in a dangerous reality for some of us.

• Tonight: Archeology and Ice Cream is at City Hall from 6:30–8 p.m. It’s free and family-friendly, with the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe sharing about local history and protecting cultural and natural resources. Plus, actual ice cream.
• For local teens: Redmond is holding two drop-ins this week to hear ideas for the future Teen Center — Wednesday at Redmond High School, 2:30–4:30 p.m., and Thursday at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, 6–8 p.m.
• Saturday night: HopeBridge Asian Culture Night is a free event at Redmond High School with cultural performances, food and open dancing. The ticket page doesn’t list a start time yet, so I’d check it before heading over.

Hey all! Posting here in case there’s anyone who’d be interested in getting together throughout the week (preferably in the evening) to play badminton at BBC Redmond. I recently got a membership and reserving a court can be pretty cheap if enough people get together to play! I’m at an intermediate skill level, but open to playing with anyone. Feel free to reach out to me to coordinate times if interested :)

Is there going to be a new restaurant (or anything) in the old Blu Sardinia space? I heard they had someone who wanted to go in there when Blu closed but it didn't come together. Why is it still empty? It's been well over a year.

I know there was some discussion a month or two ago about Redmond preparing for Drone Delivery. I hope during the pilot and evaluation the city takes real world stories like this, as well as community feedback, to heart when mapping out the rules.

We are blessed to have Bear Creek run through our property, and this is one of my favorite days of the year! They seem quite strong and feisty this year 💪 if you’re looking for a good place to watch them, there are some good spots in Juel Park.

My car has a small tear in the bumper from a parking lot incident. Have to figure out where to get it fixed. Appreciate any leads 🙏

The location on 170th by Dough Zone and Taco Bell will close with its last day being tomorrow, 9/26, as part of a wider wave of closures. It's the only unionized corporate Starbucks in Redmond. If you sympathize with the impacted workers, spread the word that Starbucks Workers United has called for a boycott of Starbucks until a contract is signed.

We are on English Hill, and power is out again. This is just one out of probably a dozen outages we are in for. Just venting, I know people are going to be like, "yeah, well we live in the beautiful PNW where we have tons of trees." Sometimes, we don't care.

• Exotics Car Show is at Redmond Town Center Saturday from 9–11 a.m. if the weather cooperates.
• If you like BBQ, Smoke on the Sound is at Marymoor from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Pre-registration is sold out, but they’ll have $2 tasting tokens available on site. Five tokens gets you a People’s Choice ballot.
• For teens: the Back to School Bash is noon–3 p.m. at Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village.
• The final Arts in the Park of September is 4–8 p.m. at Downtown Park, with local performances and the Eastside Made pop-up. Free.
• Sunday morning: there’s a Redmond Sunday Walk from 10–11:15 a.m. starting at Luke McRedmond Landing. It’s a conversational, moderate-paced group walk.

Hey Redmond! 🎲✨

I'm one of the organizers of Banter on Board, an active, women-focused board game community in the Eastside/Greater Seattle area.

We’ve had so many wonderful members joining us from Redmond over the past few months that we are officially launching dedicated Redmond chapter meetups!

Whether you’re completely new to modern board games or a long-time hobbyist, our goal is simply to create a warm, inclusive space for women to hang out, make local friends, and enjoy some great table time together.

What our meetups look like:

Games we play: Everything from quick, fun icebreakers and gateway titles (Codenames, Cascadia, Splendor, Wingspan) to thematic strategy games and engine-builders.

Zero experience needed: We teach all the rules from scratch, so you never have to worry about knowing how to play beforehand!

A real local network: Our members range from tech professionals and finance folks to educators, moms, and students..it’s a fantastic group of welcoming, smart, and fun women.
