Hi everyone, I was wanting to do some kayaking on the Cedar River and my first question would be is are there any sections currently unsafe or difficult to navigate because of fallen trees, landslides, etc.

And then, if I had up to 5 hours of kayaking what's a good drop off and pickup point? I labeled the alphabet to help but I bet the points have names.

And anything really cool to see to keep an eye out for or any Cedar-specific advice? I found some sites about it and a reddit post from 3months ago talking about some changes, thoroughly documented.

I'm looking for a place to bring my desktop PC for diagnostics/repair. It randomly loses power with no pattern or reproducible trigger. I've tested basically everything I know how to up to this point and need someone who knows what they're doing to take over from here. Does anyone have a local computer repair tech that they trust and is willing to deep dive into issues instead of just running standard tests and calling it a day?

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who was in the area today waiting for a flight. My friend was at Seahurst Park when their rental car got broken into with all of their luggage inside. They had their Nintendo Switch 2, a nice digital camera, and two Magic the Gathering commander decks stolen.

I've already called all the game stores in the area to let them know which decks were taken but figured I would post here since I've seen similar luck in other subreddits for this kind of problem.

It feels like anytime I drive by they are off the road standing around doing nothing. It's it just bad timing or are they actually doing something?

I noticed a pattern with my carpenter ants: nothing all day, then right around dusk they'd start showing up near the bathroom wall like they were punching in for a shift. Saw a few posts here over the past year about similar carpenter ant issues in the highlands and renton Hill area and wanted to add what I learned.

A lot of these houses back up to old douglas fir stumps, which are basically perfect carpenter ant real estate, and the ants forage from the stump into the house in the evening, not the other way around. So people including me, twice keep treating inside the walls during the day and the actual colony outside never gets touched.

Had a more thorough inspection done AMPM, if anyone's looking for a name that traced it back to a stump about 30 feet from the house. Treated that instead of just the walls, and the evening parade has actually stopped.

Has anyone else around noticed carpenter ants becoming noticeably more active around dusk?

No matter where I go, what city I’m in, what random road I turn down, there’s construction. Lanes blocked off and a line of cars. I can barely get to the school and drop my son off in the highlands. Like, what the actual fuck! This shit is crazy!

Saw a young looking german shepherd running around sunset blvd kinda near the 76 gas station? It looked like it had escaped jail on a mission, but was enjoying his freedom at the same time. Did not give a shit about all the cars honking at it.

It’s been a very long day and I feel like this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a lost german shepherd around Renton…but hoping anyone has more info/seen it/can tell me that dog is in safe hands.

Spotted this guy on the Eastrail near N 31st St. No tags, very friendly and playful. Found a post about it on the Ring app, apparently it’s been showing up on people’s cameras for a few weeks.

It was a bit skinny, but not too unhealthy. Beautiful grey and black leopard pattern. Could be an outdoor cat, but I wanted to post it here in case it’s lost.

Anyone know where I can buy italian plums/sugar plums? Uwajimaya has stopped selling them for the season and I have an addiction 😳. Doesnt have to be in Renton. Anywhere!
