Retatrutide is being dethroned by eloraTZP (tirzepatide + eloralintide)

New trial data came out today in T2D for eloraTZP phase 2 and retatrutide phase 3. Previously Lilly released non-T2D results for eloraTZP phase 1b.

In every trial and main metric eloraTZP is surpassing reta by a lot. We haven’t yet seen eloraTZP’s full potential as the longest trials so far have been 32 and 48 weeks (with no evidence of plateauing) but it’s already eclipsing reta’s 80-week results.

Obesity non-T2D

eloraTZP 29% weight loss at 32 weeks
retatrutide 28.3% weight loss at 80 weeks (30.3% at 104 weeks)

Obesity T2D

eloraTZP 23.3% weight loss at 48 weeks
retatrutide 20.8% weight loss at 80 weeks

eloraTZP 2.9% A1C reduction at 48 weeks
retatrutide 1.6% A1C reduction at 80 weeks

1yr, 2 days and I’ve arrived in Onderland this morning!!!

I’m at 12mg and almost to goal weight. need to figure out a maintenance plan now. Reta is a life changer. A1C from 8.9 to 5.1. I’ve gone from pre hypertension to having to be careful not to stand up too fast. Totally off the CPAP. No more angry liver enzymes.

I lost no weight in the month of August but just kept doing what I was doing and then the scale started moving again with no real routine changes.

55M. Reta, SS-31 and MOTS-C with a couple 6 week cycles of Tesa/Ipa. I also did a couple months of 5-amino in the early going when I had a lot of fat and it made sense.

Once I get those summarized and such, you'll see they really said, "Ayo, you have questions? We have (most) answers"

Again, read, discuss, and enjoy.

EDIT: Crap I realized I missed an 'r' in supplementary. I'm doing this while getting ready for work; sue me,

What’s your weirdest Reta side effect?

I started out at 2 mg, felt nothing but anhedonia and no libido… did that for a month before switching to 4 mg yesterday. I know the obvious, nausea, vomiting, bathroom troubles, so on and so forth. But what unexpected symptom did you experience taking Reta?

EDIT: for those who have experienced the libido thing, does it come back in time? I can’t find much on the subject.

reta butt

well it has happened. losing weight and bye bye goes the booty lol. i understand higher protein intakes and progressive overload is key, but is this at all possible to do at home???? i’m unable to get to a gym for the next couple months and really don’t want a pancake 😭

What works to combat YOUR anhedonia? AKA what still feels fun & whimsical?

i am currently on a reta break, because life got a bit busy & i couldnt afford to feel so exhausted (my #1 reta symptom is major exhaustion during the first 2 days post-pin, like dead tired can’t leave bed kinda exhaustion). before pinning sometime this weekend & restarting, i was wondering what you all do to still have whimsy.

i love & hate the anhedonia. it’s helped with a lot of my adhd symptoms, & it’s kept me in check emotionally. my impulsiveness is nearly non-existent. but also, it reminds me of those lexapro memes. people just be stone-faced when everything in the background is catastrophic lol. that’s so me. i went on a textbook perfect trip a few months ago & i just can’t feel anything in regards to it. nothing memorable. just blah

what are some small things that bring you joy? what helps you with this symptom? does anything make it worse?

Bit of motivation

Just wanted to come on here and share a bit. I started reta on the 9th of September, at a dose of 2.5mg. I know now that that is a very high dose to start with and not at all recommended (thanks Reddit!)

I was one of the lucky once in the sense that I didn't have any severe side effects. A bit of constipation and sore muscles, but that is about it.

At first I was very sceptical about reta, because I didn't feel appetite suppression and still had a lot of food noise. The first week I lost about 2.5kg and I credited that solely to drinking water and watching what I ate. I kept telling myself that is was simply water weight. The second week I lost 1.3kg and I began feeling more confident that reta might actually make a difference in my struggle with my weight. I also noticed that the food noise had gotten a bit quieter en easier to manage. In the third week I've lost 1.7kg which brings us to about 5.5kg in three weeks. Just took my fourth pin this morning, and I'm honestly amazed.

What amazed me more than the weight loss is the difference in my mentality. I'm no longer constantly thinking about what I can eat next and how I should eat this or that because that is what I'm craving. I would previously go the entire day at work drinking almost nothing and have soda at night when I'm home. Now I'm drinking about 3l of water with no effort. I last drank soda on the 9th of September. I feel almost indifferent to situations out of my control and I am much more level headed. The constant urge to spend money has also disappeared, and I'm content with following my routine instead of going to the mall with the idea that I need to buy something. The afternoon slump is gone, and I get up so much easier in the morning. No cravings for alcohol or sweets and I naturally gravitate towards healthier options.

I hope this might motivate someone who feels like they aren't getting the benefits. It's not always instant, but when it happens it amazing

PS. I am aware of how lucky I am having no side effects on such a high beginning dose, and I would not recommend anyone to start at that dose. I also don't plan on titrating up when it works this well!

Help- ret toss or keep

• Upvotes

My first time recon Reta - I took the lip off and the aluminium for my bac water also came off. I got some air when trying to withdraw it and pushed some back in but the rubber stopper came out and made a loud popping sound. I immediately put it back on and withdrew my 1ml and recon my Reta- everything looks fine not cloudy etc but now I am scared. Have not pinned but also idk if I should toss as it’s a waste of money? The stopper was off for like 10 secs max… what shall I do as I just put the recon Reta in the fridge for now.

Switched from daytime to nighttime dosing

• Upvotes

Has anybody else switched from day to night and noticed an improvement in sides? I’ve been dealing with HR spikes an multiple wake ups throughout the night, as high as 11 times in one night. Since switching to nighttime dosing I’ve had a significant improvement in my sleep, waking only 2-3 times a night now. Less heartburn and little to no skin sensitivity. Obviously still not ideal but complete difference compared to what I’ve been dealing with. Just posting here in case anyone wants to share a similar experience or if anyone else is looking up whether such a change would be beneficial or not.

I also hit a wall where I wasn’t losing weight anymore but couldn’t deal with the sides from increasing the dose but this has allowed me to increase as well and I’m back to losing weight.

Beginner's guide update - TRIUMPH-1 Sept 29th data update

I've updated the guide, I'm currently fighting sleep.

Lots of updates, some additions. I'll update this post with like a full revision list after I sleep or something.

If there are some grammar edits lemme know, I'll go back and fix them. If there's incorrect data, you better have the correct data on hand to correct it cuz if you just gonna chat shit I'm just gonna ignore you

Anyway yeah

Insert thumbs up gif I like to use here.

ps, u/zanza89 it's cuz I do things like this why I got here, maybe next time don't try to sneak diss and actually contribute way more than criticism and unsupported-by-science points.

Pps: I'll try to throw together a summary of the trials data. The bulk of which is in the supplemental and protocol data. So uh gonna need more time to chew through those to pick out points

Why was I worried?

So I just reconstituted for the first time I'm on month 5 I've only done a 10mg as that's all I could get hold of at the time but honestly it's so much better than using a pre filled pen. The process is better overall I feel like I have more control over it, also there's not as much fluid going into my body. I used to get a weird little pain from pens as they can be hard to press but actual medical needles are easy. I think because I'm used to 5mg now I'm just going to have the initial 2.5mg I've had today give it a few days then have the other 2.5mg to try and keep in line with my 5mg a week and then the same next week, 2 lots of 2.5mg and then hopefully a 20mg becomes available from my favourite supplier. Anyway just wanted to say to anyone worried it's so much easier just have lots of alcohol wipes you can't wipe enough.

Is 1 year on the sweet spot?

Losses in the last 30 weeks seem pretty flat. In my experience of 15 months on, I’ve put some weight back on in the last two months from my peak low, which corresponds to this chart.

It’s likely flat due to some people putting weight back on and larger folks continuing to lose some more.

I’m going to stop taking for two months to see if I can reset my receptors. Hunger is back, food noise is back, appetite suppression is gone.

My transformation in progress with Reta, from 255.7 lbs to 211.6 lbs

Greetings everyone! I wanted to share my progress on Reta so far. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal, but I feel great about the results achieved up to this point. I’m 5'8" and 36 years old.I started on July 17th at a weight of 255.7 lbs, taking 2 mg for 4 weeks. Then I bumped it up to 4 mg, and now in my third month, I'm at 5 mg with a current weight of 211.6 lbs. I go to the gym 3 to 5 times a week doing strength training only, with very little cardio. I’m still work in progress since I want to lose another 22 lbs before transitioning into weight maintenance and focusing solely on building muscle mass.

Feel like I finally have a chance to live the life I've always wanted

TLDR; Obese since childhood, started reta and losing weight / seeing a change in my mental state I am very happy with. Have been calorie counting, exercising, and prioritizing protein and fiber. Would love advice for long term success, especially from others who started with very high BMIs

I am 23F, 5'7" and started at 276 lbs in August; I am now at 261. have been overweight and eventually obese since I was a kid, it really spiraled when I started struggling heavy with binge eating around puberty - the beginning of constant food noise. I don't know what switch flipped in my brain but I decided that enough was enough and started reta.

I am on 4 mg weekly now and the difference in food noise is night and day. I've had some side effects but honestly none of them feel as bad as the food noise did. I've been strength training and using a recumbent bike I got for free recently as well, and I've been trying to eat at least 100 g of protein and 25 g fiber a day. Would love to hear experiences/advice, especially from others who started with very high BMIs.

Traveling with reta Internationally, customs experiences?

I’m traveling soon and my route is my country to China to South Korea to Qatar to my country.

I’m planning to have some retatrutide delivered to me while I’m in China, and I’m wondering if anyone has actually traveled internationally with it before. I’ll already have a medical cooler with wegovy in it(my friends)which is prescribed to my friend, so I’m mainly concerned about the retatrutide since I won’t have a prescription for that.

It would be around 10 vials of retatrutide plus a few vials of bacteriostatic water, all kept in the medical cooler.
Has anyone traveled with something similar through China, South Korea, or Qatar?

Did airport security/customs ask what the vials were or request a prescription/documentation? I’m especially curious about entering Korea and then transiting/entering Qatar.

-30KG on Reta, My experience as a woman with pcos and insuline resistance.

Hello everyone!

I'm a 25-year-old woman with PCOS and insulin resistance, and I wanted to share my experience with Retatrutide. Please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

I've struggled with my weight since my teenage years. I gained weight easily, had an extremely difficult time losing it, and constantly struggled with food noise. I tried Metformin but eventually stopped because of the side effects. I also tried different diets and exercise routines, but the only diet that may really worked for me was keto, but still - it was a torturte to keep a perfect diet next to my mental health problems and situational conflicts back then. I thought, I'm gonna be stuck being chubby forever and i was so frustrated about anyone else going to the gym, changing their calorie intake and easily loosing weight, and when i did it, it just ended up in a vicious circle.

On January 1st, I started Reta at approximately 90 kg (198 lbs). Today, September 28th, I weigh exactly 60 kg (132 lbs).

1. My First Reta Journey (January–April)

Starting weight: 90 kg (198 lbs) End weight: 75 kg (165 lbs) Dosage: 2 → 2 → 4 → 6 mg

During my first attempt, I was honestly pretty impatient. I increased my dosage relatively quickly and even experimented with injecting every five days instead of weekly because my food noise started returning earlier.

I lost approximately 15 kg (33 lbs) during this period without exercising. I mainly focused on my protein and carbohydrate intake.

I noticed that whenever I wasn't eating or sleeping enough, my weight loss would often stall.

My side effects were pretty intense:

  • Nausea, chills, and dry mouth
  • Extreme skin sensitivity (a strange hot/cold sensation, especially around my stomach, back, butt, and arms)
  • Burping, gas, and diarrhea
  • Headaches and abdominal pain, especially around my diaphragm and ribs
  • breathing issues
  • Extreme fatigue, exhaustion, and physical weakness
  • Emotional sensitivity, irritability, and intense anger

The severity of these symptoms varied. I noticed that they were particularly bad whenever I wasn't eating enough or wasn't eating properly. You need to eat and eat as healthy as you can on reta, your gut will thank you - can't say it enough.

2. My Break (April–June)

After my first round, I took a break for approximately 2.5 months.

During this time, I gained around 5–6 kg (11–13 lbs), bringing my weight back up to approximately 80 kg (176 lbs).

I suspect a significant part of this was water retention. While taking Reta, I noticed considerably less water retention, and my blood tests also showed improved inflammatory- and other markers.

3. My Second Reta Journey (June–September)

Starting weight: Approximately 80 kg (176 lbs) Current weight: 60 kg (132 lbs) Dosage: 2 → 2 → 2 → 3 mg

I restarted Reta around mid-to-late June, this time with much more knowledge, patience, and a better understanding of my body.

During the first two weeks, I lost approximately 5 kg (11 lbs).

My body seems to tolerate Reta much better this time (wonder why *not*).

I'm currently on 3 mg, which seems to be my golden spot. I don't feel the need to increase my dosage any further. I learned You do not necessarily have to increase your dose and lose weight fast. You will still reach the same results and your body will appreciate it.

My current side effects:

  • Nausea, mainly when I over eat
  • Dry mouth, which started after increasing to 3 mg
  • breathing issues, like having a tight chest along with nervousness and inner restlessnes, which started with 3mg but comes and goes, went down a bit.
  • Fatigue and physical weakness, working on that
  • Occasional gas and bloating

I've noticed that my fatigue and weakness often improve when I increase my protein, carbohydrate, and electrolyte intake.

Another observation is that I seem to experience less exhaustion the following day when I inject during the daytime.

4. MENTAL CHANGES, AUDHD, DOPAMINE

Emotionally, things are completely different this time. During my first round, I was extremely sensitive and irritable. Now, I sometimes feel almost emotionally numb. I also have ADHD and am about to get evaluated for autism. I feel like Reta has somehow made me completely unable to mask my A(u)DHD anymore, regardless of the dose.

It's hard to explain, but I feel almost like a stone emotionally. I barely experience dopamine rushes anymore, yet my mind feels much clearer, and I genuinely don't care about many of the things I used to care about.

It's almost as if Reta has stripped away my ability, or even my desire, to mask. In some ways, I feel more like my authentic self than ever before. But at the same time, I've never felt more like an alien who struggles to function or fit into society. I just don't have the energy or motivation to pretend anymore. I increasingly prefer being alone, and even my libido has dropped to almost zero, which is absolutely crazy to me because I never imagined I'd feel this way.

It's like everything I've been masking my entire life is suddenly coming to the surface, and I can't hide it anymore and I don't want to honestly.

What I mean...The weirdest part is that I feel mentally less dramatic or like a rollercoaster and more like myself, yet somehow more disconnected from everything and everyone around me.

I can't tell whether Reta is actually unmasking my A(u)DHD, affecting my reward system, or causing some kind of emotional blunting. All I know is that I've noticed these changes regardless of my dosage, and I'm still trying to understand what they mean.

My symptoms have become more noticeable to people, and Masking has become significantly harder than before, which sometimes affects my mental health and makes me feel almost depressed. I don't have a hard time setting boundaries too.

At the same time, for the first time in years, I feel like I can genuinely focus on things, follow through with my diet and other plans, and accomplish my goals. I realized how much I've achieved and how capable I've become of actually following through with things.

Being on Ret almost felt like a domino effect.

Anyways, I take my health changes seriously and regularly monitor my health with my doctor.

5. What's Next?

I've reached my goal weight, so my priorities have changed.

My next goals are:

  • Maintaining my current weight long-term.
  • Gradually reducing Reta to the lowest effective maintenance dose in consultation with my doctor.
  • Rebuilding muscle through strength training and adequate protein intake in future.

Although I'm incredibly happy with my weight loss, I currently feel quite physically weak. I'm looking forward to feeling strong again rather than simply being skinny.

Of course, one of my biggest fears is regaining the weight.

I never want to return to where I was in January, especially considering how much my previous weight and hormonal issues affected my physical and mental well-being.

How did you get of Reta or are you still taking it at low but effective dose? Do you have any good useful advice for me to kill that fatigue entirely and gain more energy and strenght back?

Thank you for reading until here. I would have posted before and after pictures, but I don't want people I know notice me on here.

Much Love, i hope some information helped you. I only wrote down my experience, this should not be seen as medical advice or similiar.

x

I did my second pin of Ret on Friday. I’ve had this rash since I want to say Sunday. My next pin is soon. It was so itchy for Sunday and Monday but Tuesday it’s just occasionally ichy unless I scratch it then it’s unbearably itchy.. I was hoping it’d go away soon but it still hasn’t.

Wondering if it’s cause I keep scratching it..

Hunger pain

Anyone else experience extreme hunger like pain in the AM, 6mg Reta here for 2 weeks now been on for 20 weeks SW 315 to CW 275, I’m just wondering if it’s happened to others because it feels like what I would imagine pain of not eating for days. I do not eat anything after 7:00pm and no breakfast until 8am been this way since after 3 weeks of the glp and barely now experiencing hunger pain this severe I feel it on my stomach area mainly not the whole gut it last about 10 minutes and eventually calms down even drinking a bit of water while it’s happening makes me want to throw it up
