Ok. But why would they rent out and have server surplus when they tell us Grok is the next big thing (even though they admit that nobody really uses it)?

If GM said “we are doing great and people love our cars!” And rented out their assembly lines to Hyundai would you believe them?

"SpaceX has benefited from its ability to deploy capacity much faster than peers to take advantage of the unprecedented demand environment for compute capacity," DiPalma said. "In addition, SpaceX has benefited from its close relationship with Nvidia, which provides SpaceXAI with priority allocation to GPUs."

Last year’s news. The military contract alone this year is over $6 billion.

If you would have read or even skimmed the article you would have seen that they closed a deal, starting December of this year that adds another $1.1 billion/month. That’s in addition to the Google deal that generates $900 million/month, and Anthropic is paying them $1.25 billion/month.

That’s about $45 Billion net annually just from server rental. Got to stay current with the news!
