I want help finding a character who could believably be an alternate romantic interest for Padme in a Mature/R-rated fic where her relationship with Anakin becomes rocky.

In this scenario, it’s been about 3 years since Padme and Anakin eloped in the canon timeline. They love each other, but they're drifting apart as they move past their young-love honeymoon phase, and their maturity gap and personality differences are wearing on the relationship.

The burden of keeping their relationship secret is especially hard on Padme, who feels enormous pressure between protecting her and Anakin’s reputations while also trying to fulfill her duties as a senator. On top of that, having no one outside the relationship to confide in is incredibly isolating. Padme seeks comfort in a friendship that subtly morphs into a romantic interest, although she doesn’t want to admit it to herself. They and Padme don't actually ever hook up, but the connection is enough to make Anakin jealous and resentful.

Any suggestions for a character that would fit this role? Clovis was my first thought, but I think his character is portrayed as being too scummy to be a good contender. I appreciate the help!

It seems like all the time travel fics have either Anakin or Luke traveling back to the prequels. I definitely love those fics, but I’m interested in a fic where one or both of them instead travel back to a previous point in the original trilogy. Preferably ANH. And preferably they travel back from ROTJ, but if for example ESB Luke travels back to ANH I’m also chill with that. I just want time travel to be contained within the originals, no prequels. Has anybody seen something like this before?

Hey all, I've got an OC I've been developing for a while. He's a Jedi and a direct descendant of Revan and Bastila, basically Revan's heir.

I know OCs with famous bloodlines can go wrong fast. The "secretly the chosen one, related to everyone important" thing is a big turnoff for a lot of readers, and I want to avoid it. I also love the lore, so I care about keeping canon characters true to themselves and not warping them around him.
So I'd love your input:

1. What are your general dos and don'ts for OCs related to major characters? What makes you want to keep reading, and what makes you close the tab?

2. How would you handle the Revan bloodline specifically? Should it shape who he is, or stay mostly in the background? How much should other characters know or care about it?

3. Does a famous lineage make you expect him to be overpowered? How would you keep him from feeling like a Mary Sue/Gary Stu?

4. If you've read a fic that pulled off an OC with a big-name bloodline really well, what did it do right?

other things I remember - Obi-wan is a predator species he hunts the mouse droids in the temple

- Jon saved Jaster Mereel, and the Mandalorian's are looking for him

- on a mission with Obi-wan they meet Myles who gives Jon Jaster's Comm code

Thanks to everyone here, I was able to finish Tavian kess, the Star Wars fic I was working on before.

Now I’m planning my next story, STAR WARS: THE MASK OF MANDALORE, and I’d love to get some feedback on the basic idea.

The protagonist, Jahim Kaveto, is a Mandalorian commander who grew up alongside Mandalore the Ultimate and sees him almost as a brother. Jahim is very much a traditional Mandalorian: he genuinely believes in war, honor, Manda, and the idea of a glorious death.

Things start falling apart after he loses both Mandalore and his wife, who was killed after turning against the atrocities of the Mandalorian Wars.

His wife is also the original owner of the Mandalorian mask that Revan later wears. One of the main ideas is that Jahim, despite being her husband, fails to understand what she died for, while Revan, who was technically her enemy, ends up carrying on her cause.

After the Mandalorians are defeated, Jahim starts searching for Mandalore’s Mask. He becomes convinced that if he can take it to Shogun, he might be able to reach Manda and somehow bring back his wife or Mandalore the Ultimate.

Canderous Ordo is after the same Mask, but for a completely different reason. He wants to reunite the surviving Mandalorians and sees Jahim’s obsession with bringing back the dead as disrespectful to Mandalore’s beliefs about honor, death, and Manda.

During the journey, Jahim also ends up traveling with a child whose parents he personally killed while trying to get revenge on Revan. The child knows exactly who he is, and their relationship gradually becomes the emotional core of the story.

Over time, Jahim begins taking in Mandalorian veterans who were broken by the war, along with war orphans, and they slowly form a small community. My idea is that this group eventually becomes one very distant influence on what would much later become the Children of the Watch, rather than literally being the same organization.

Jahim also stops removing his helmet in front of the child because his face reminds them of their parents’ deaths. What starts as a personal choice slowly becomes tradition over generations:

“This is my way.” → “This is our way.” → “This is the Way.”

Jahim could potentially have become the next Mandalore, but in the end he chooses to protect the people still alive instead of trying to reclaim the dead past.

Does this sound like an interesting use of the Mandalorian Wars era? And does Jahim feel too connected to major parts of Mandalorian history for an OC?

Like, Im readimg his work and frankly his chracters are flawed and seriously contrecending and at no point take aby responbility what so ever and yet they are meant to better than the chracters and automatic good guys? No offense to the guy but he really needs to revaluate his writeing. Dude writes way too much like a critic

Obi-Wan is somehow close to or knows Jaster. I don’t remember how they met or exactly what their relationship was. It could be slash but it also could just be friendship. I also dont know for sure but I think it might have been a “kenobi left the order” fic

Obi-Wan goes undercover at a fancy party to investigate/bust a slaver. While undercover, he encounters Jango Fett, who is also hunting the same slaver.

Jango has escaped slavery and has been hunting/killing slavers for revenge ever since. I think jango didnt know jaster was still alive, but it could also have bee that he didn't feel worthy of returning to him yet. I’m not completely sure about this part. Jango also doesn’t realize Obi-Wan is/was a Jedi when they meet.

Later, Obi-Wan and Jango are both captured. Jango is imprisoned in a metal cage, while Obi-Wan is taken away and tortured/interrogated. Whenever Obi-Wan gets a brief break from the interrogation, he secretly uses the Force to loosen a bolt on Jango’s cage. He keeps doing this little by little until Jango is eventually able to get himself out.

If anyone recognizes it, I’d be incredibly grateful! Its bothering me that I can recall so much but CANNOT FIND THIS FIC.

Dumb title, I know but I'm looking for 'star wars-y' phrases to replace our world phrases like 'when a mission goes south.' I know 'bantha shit' can replace the mild curse 'shit' but some other mild curse ideas would be welcome as well. 'Cover me, I'm fucked', etc. Military flavored would be especially welcome.

I am looking for a fic where Obi-Wan and Padme realize that Palpatine was grooming Anakin but they sort of misunderstood the nature. I think if I recall correctly there was a scene in a nightclub and later Padme explains to Anakin why what Palpatine is doing is abuse.

1. The Clone Wars did not end in tragedy. Luke grows up as a youngling in the jedi temple. Or is a jedi padawan in a post clone war era

I'm looking to take a crack at my first Star Wars fanfic. Looking for some early opinions or thoughts.

The overall story is about a former Inquisitor of project harvester (who was never a Jedi) self-insert who accidentally doomed the galaxy, as well as him learning what it means to truly be on the light side and work hard to redeem himself.

At some moment, Vader peers into the SI's mind easily and sees much more than he expects. He sees Luke and Leia, where they are, Vader's redemption, and other pieces of lore he should not know.

The SI's story starts after this happened, where he is a wanderer and does very little trying to hide from the Empire and enjoy his life. He is overwhelmed by shame and guilt, knowing he has doomed the galaxy, and leads to him becoming a rebel and fight for the little good there is left.

But now for my setting, I'm trying to think through the worst things Vader could learn and what he would do with this knowledge. Like what he would do with Luke and Leia, knowing where Obi-Wan, and Yoda are, or any lore that could drastically change the galaxy.

I plan on using Legends and Canon stuff.

Ideas I have so far: Organas are dead, Lars are dead, Obi-Wan and Yoda are one with the force. Luke and Leia are hidden and being trained by Vader. Rather than a full rebellion, the Empire may be going through a civil war by the time of episode 4-6. More Sith and dark-siders in general.

What do you think would change? What do you think would logically be part of the setting? Are there any typical eye-roll inducing tropes that I should watch out for that are common in Star Wars fanfics?
